Best Unimpaired Poems
Listening to your heartbeat
I lie with my head on your chest
Voile curtains softly billowing in the breeze from the open window
Ecstasy still flowing through our veins
Lately we have become much closer
A true friendship now mingles with physical attraction
Unimpaired by our past lives
Gently, you curl your arm around me as you sleep
How truly happy that makes me feel
Light from a waxing moon creeps in
Over your sleeping form
Verifying my adoration of you
Even now, I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a life so full of love and laughter.

Acrostic
Peering in the windows,
Of those lives I barely see,
Except when tokens are procured,
For rides, intermittently,
They look at me, I look back,
Nothing severed or taken,
My pith, unimpaired,
And by them, unmistaken,
Do they think that my life,
Should be transformed to theirs,
With foreign exclusions,
And tainted, quaint stares,
Their subtle indifference,
No case dares to appeal,
Embodies the essence,
Of a world they call real,
So they ask with green eyes,
Should I now switch with you,
Would that make my self-worth,
Somehow, progressively true,
I glance, to respond,
That neither is needed,
Because as tolerance failed,
Manipulation succeeded,
We both yearn to validate,
Our courses of being,
Amidst choices of learning,
And preferred ways of seeing,
For now, the windows are closed,
The Santa Anas, they're blowing,
And those lives which premiered,
Have no interest in showing,
We will then pause to wonder,
If the sill might be locked,
Therefore sealed from exposure,
And no chance to be mocked.

There I am, laid bare on a slab of steel
undone by my Achilles' heel,
A Mayan priest's obsidian blade,
or a sultry siren's silent serenade
There I am, placenta draped and screaming
Awoken from my embryonic dreaming
Beckoned forth to join the woeful parade
And make a cameo for a few accolades
There I am, full of zeal and glee
Despite all my idiosyncrasies
Overly amorous and under prepared
But going ahead unimpaired
There I am, washed of my daily grime
resetting all the usual paradigms
Readying myself for the Sisyphean chore
of another day I can not ignore

I will whisper excuses in my own ear,
Behind my back to the shadows of regret...
And recollections in their kindest form
Cannot soothe the tears
Of a heart torn asunder.
I never wished you gone,
Nor unencumbered by my embrace;
In an afternoon of Summer softness
And Summer scents
Held together by a future unimpaired --
How was I to know...
In the certainty of youth and beauty,
All those whispers told a tale of sacriifice
Surrounding a gentle wanton uninstructed
In the vagueries of lies.
I only wanted to be free...
I only wanted to understand
Meaning in the word glorious.
It was never meant to be,
Even though vivid memories are treasured
Of other lives preordained...
I have no knowlege of importance...
So remember, in the centuries long past,
And those yet to come...
The reasons for loneliness;
The reasons for life.
I must, in any case,
Simply whisper excuses for this one
However long it seems to last...
Simply whisper ...

Dramatic Monologue
Your beauty beams with patent rage
Undiminished and unharmed with age
Like the primrose of the spring
You are the jewel that sunshine brings
Your kindness is without compare
Unprejudiced and unimpaired
Like the music of a hymn
You are the song that angels sing
Your joy inspires the world to smile
And makes the trials of day worthwhile
Like the rain upon the leaves
You are the water all life needs
Your compassion is unlimited
The purest and most noble gift
Like heroes in the books I read
You are the person I want to be

THE PALM TREE
Sadly, my time on Earth is coming to an end
Where I’ve witnessed all human’s wonders and all their dirt;
Cried for the dying and rejoiced for every new birth,
Watched greed rule over what should have been shared
Strongly fought all winds and stood unimpaired.
Change your ways, there’s still time
Plant more trees for children to climb
Love each other, abolish all crime
Live your innocence like a nursery rhyme.
Talk face to face, don’t hide behind a screen
I can’t watch humanity turn into a machine
Share your stories, tell all that you’ve seen.
Roll the dime, risk your luck and play all cards
But don’t trust too much to let down all your guards!
See through, see beyond. No, never be fooled.
Enjoy life, dance and flirt
Scatter beauty everywhere, any time
Don’t get stuck to what should have been
Release that inside you which has been barred
Let the power within unfold
Let the truth inside you reveal the untold!
Because I've challenged winds and kept strong
and I know you can also do it all along!

Precious novelties, rare and unimpaired
reminder of events I'd love to share.
Recalling special trinkets in a hutch
for display only, labeled "Do Not Touch".
Awaiting finding of a misplaced key,
a new piece tempted curiosity.
Too precious to ignore, my small grandson
maneuvered carefully, warned by his mum.
Rejecting caution, which kids oft ignore
forgetful child just left it on the floor.
The next day, sister found it with her foot.
One piece, now three pieces, ruined, kaput.
Comes precious moment, happ'ning on my watch.
The brother faults his sister for the botch
who then returns accusatory blame.
Routine occurrence, 'companied by shame.
The moment builds, we search the house for glue.
Some chips still gone? Hurrah! we find a few.
Together, we three, talking as we work,
accountable, not acting like a jerk.
A precious moment in our history
when that collectible met surgery.
Four years later, standing tall, gath'ring dust
a priceless symbol, joint endeavor, plus.

Conundrum Reaching Conclusion
Create a conundrum
Create a query
Conundrum seeks a solution
Query wants to be found
Solution has many facets
Found a clue
Facets bring about obstacles
Clue usually hones us in
Obstacles must be tackled
In order of relevance
Tackled by a certain mindset
Relevance proves paramount
Mindset is imperative
Paramount are the attributes
Imperative to results
Attributes must be studied
Results will take commitment
Studied the partakers must be
Commitment is born inherent
Be manifest destiny
Inherent is the seeker
Destiny holds the key
Seeker must prove worthy
Key is seek out all that surrounds
Worthy of gleaning absolute information
Surrounds the query to be unearthed
Information must be carefully elicited
Unearthed essentially uncovered
Elicited with worthwhile foci
Uncovered by sheer determination
Foci must be unimpaired
Determination to procure the truth
Unimpaired by subjectivity
Truth will not come easy
Subjectivity is difficult to bestow
Easy never being prolific
Bestow untethered concentration
Prolific ends come with dissection
Concentration is the key
Dissection may bare connection
Key is the element of discovery
Connection connecting fragments
Discovery brings moratorium
Fragments strung together
Moratorium reflects conclusion
TOGETHER triumphs are accomplished
Conclusion will evade till then
Accomplished are the chosen…
Then nature must take its course…
Course
Chosen

Emirabitur- Shall Admire
There you are the wind of my lone chamber
When I set to keep all mine from ember
And drop where constructs are most eminent,
Where meditativeness is prominent.
Long lost be me, if not for lunar moon
Descend light that fights random hours of groan.
I will for sure unveil silence abode
Where monstrous would have forsaken off-board.
Let’s believe I have found and learnt the muse
The muse which unimpaired and un-abuse;
And fetch, outstretch, inform and un-slumber,
That which eyes will see and bless good comment:
Less of déjà vu and more of neo-pan,
That the rooftops will sit and grant accord.

I did not fail in mother's love...
was always there, I raised him fine.
He never married or left home,
and all went well for quite some time.
When child and parent are reversed,
the elder needs care in the end.
The child becomes the parent when
on him, the parent must depend.
Elder abuse, I know is true...
for I now sit alone and scared.
My son forgets that I once lived
his mother's life, so unimpaired.
Confined to home and never out,
my world is closed, I have no choice;
hair so unkempt and clothes unwashed...
I sit and stare without a voice.
I do not dare request a thing...
his anger chills me to the bone.
I must stay quiet, bare my days
and live within my safety zone.
I did not fail in mother's love...
was always there, I raised him fine.
But, never thought that time would form
this heartless child, now so maligned.

Premiere Contest: Through Their Eyes #2
Sponsor: Shadow Hamilton
Rules: Poems From the Victim's Eyes ~ Fiction
Judged: 08/16/2016
"Elder abuse is a significant public health problem. Each year, hundreds of thousands of
adults over the age of 60 are abused, neglected, or financially exploited. Elder abuse,
including neglect and exploitation, is experienced by 1 out of every 10 people, ages 60
and older, who live at home. This statistic is likely an underestimate because many
victims are unable or afraid to disclose or report the violence."

I SEE HER. . . .
Her beauty unbound by chains of lust, or self pitty. Her skin irreproachable, perfect, sound, unblemished, unbroken, undamaged, unimpaired. Her eyes carry the depth of the green sea, and when they look into yours they show you the man you could be, the man that you want to be .Just so you can be that man for her. She carry’s herself with an essence of independence, and a legacy long sustained by strong beautiful women. Her lips in a peculiar shape like that of a heart. . .wait it’s my heart i see bestowed in the shape of her lips. I realize my ambition to define the fine fabrics in which her brain is weaved. Her simple glare turns me into the submissive man vie only dreamed of becoming, for this means that I can complete the act of giving her what can be given back my, undivided, complete diligent love. As time goes by. . . She and I have been together for some time and I realize her beautify is unaffected by time her eyes stay bright, and luminous enough to put the sun to shame. Her skin never grown old for I always see her as the Angel she is..Back to reality. . . “Bro! “ i look up and see an old friend of mine wait, no a current friend of mine,, my body’s numb to the touch my legs erratically tremble below me I look around and see my youth, I look. My boy looking me in the eye like I was crazy. “You good, dawg?”. . . “was it all a dream?. . . i look up lost in a world without love nor compassion, and I . . . see her? My boy was asking me what’s wrong but I dashed forward to see her . . . I meet eyes with the angelic green eyes of the women I’ve been in love with my whole life and as our eyes meet I come to reality. The women I have fell in love with and spent with my whole life. . . I’ve never seen before tonight.

I, Squirrel, now await the coming Spring;
as the ground thaws, my hunt for nuts begins.
To life's sweet treasures, happily, I cling;
from Spring, through Summer, Fall- survival wins.
Now, Winter's cold- the ground is frozen tight;
those nuts I buried- nowhere to be found.
So hard to shelter from the wind at night;
inside a hollow tree trunk, I stay bound.
I know Spring's coming- feel it getting close;
the days- becoming longer, slow but sure.
But, I dismiss the cons and choose my pros;
for now, to feed my hunger- there's a cure.
I found a see-thru house where birds can feed
and figured out a plan- help me survive.
It's suctioned to a window, but with speed,
I jump up high, then crawl within- and thrive!
They watch me by the window from inside
Somehow, I know that I am safe and spared.
I think they smile since I am long and wide-
yet, squeeze inside the feeder, unimpaired!
I know Spring's coming- feel it in the air
Winter is not forever- it will pass.
For now, I take my pros and say a prayer;
rebirth of Spring will bring me greener grass.

Gazing upon the long and winding path of life
One may find an ugly pebble that causes strife
Jagged and mossy, the rock seems out of place
One has to fight the urge to move it from its space
But when looking at the path from a wider stance
One can see it has been placed there by simple chance
For the ugly pebble can do nothing but be compared
To the hundreds of thousands beside it unimpaired
(dedicated to the one "ugly pebble" in my life who is not only insignificant but also, as of
today, impotent)

Where oh,
Friend is thy true face,
The one i used to know,
The one that used to laugh with me,
That helped me learn to grow,
Why now have we turned away from all those things we shared?
Can time not leave a simple memory or moment unimpaired?
I always tried to reach out and give you the best part of me,
Now it seems iv'e failed as you turn away from me and flee.
What did i do?
How can i make it right,
This apparent thing,
Which caused you to throw our closeness away and to sorrow bring.
I am me,
That's all i am,
I can't be anything more,
You liked me this way once,
Remember that?
Before you leave and shut my door.
And if you go,
I'll cry for you and and all you've thrown away,
But through the pain i'll always wish we could go back to yesterday.
