One Word

“Mary!”

One word
Tears transformed
Sorrow to joy
One moment
One word.

A name
Life
New life
Beyond-the-tomb life
Forever.

Reality
Resurrection
When Jesus calls
By name
One word.

Mary!

Read John’s gospel, chapter 20.

God's gift*
life's lift...

     strength's zest
     life blest...

          love's might
          life's light...

               grace-birth
               life's worth...

                    hope flows
                    life glows.

*Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Premium MemberThis Morning

This morning, love, the sky’s opaque
You are the spirit, you can see
Though spirit term seems rather vague
It emphasizes mystery
Relies on my imagination
A bit too much, as if implied
My faith in the divine ascension
But the first thing that comes to mind
Why it’s impossible to meet
Our Lord again, how could he be
Not recognized on crowded street
If he’d come down his folk to see
I guess that Jesus was repeated
In some of those who tried to care
And so the devil was defeated
In a fixed match for devil’s share
I don’t want to display a doubt
It always finds a way to show
Without flesh life makes no sound
In any kind of form we know
It’s all our fantasy and joy
Of the imagined world that is
Supposed to be a great deploy
To serve reality we miss.

Premium MemberRISE OF REVELATION

Spoken biblical words
Prophecy exchange
Motion through time
Redemption shall reign
Transformation from flesh to everlasting
Heavens come down to Earth
Rebirth of hearts
Tongues shall testify
Truth told
Spiritual within
Storms will shout
Skies will open the chatter
World attention
Earthly eyes to look up
Wait upon will arrive
Wonder assured from yonder
Hearts united
Buckle up and be ready
Hold steady
Wisely thought.

Premium MemberPenetrating Everlasting Light

Darkness surrounds us all everywhere
spiritually, morally, socially and emotionally
affecting everything that we can see
wherever we are its scattering nationally

This is an illness that needs fixed
what can be done about this evil force
facing it head-on with a strong stand
it needs to be stripped at its source

Pray for God's intervention of light
His force of power simply divine
heavenly sent from God's throne
penetrating through to brightly shine

God is the sender of this gift
to combat and defeat this sin
penetration would show in eternity
so God's way would always win

No sun can compare with this light
its longevity will be with us forever
Jesus comes in the power of His truth
shedding His eternal light like a constant river

Premium MemberSimon Of Cyrene - The Carrier Of The Cross

Cyrene was a city of 5000
situated on Africa's Northern tip
from there came a man called Simon
who was to be under God's sure grip

This Simon is named in three of the gospels
as the one who carried Jesus heavy load
compelled and seized to walk behind Jesus
carrying His cross along His Calvary road

Did Simon know what was to follow?
that this Jesus was going to die
His mind must have been in turmoil
but comforted even if asking why?

As Simon carried the cross of Jesus
so we, His disciples, must carry it too
following our Lord wherever He goes
standing true, looking to the Lord's view

Simon was indeed chosen of God
providentially to carry Christ's cross
play a real part in the Calvary story
without it, this would be our loss!

Premium Memberreflections on Easter

we know Jesus resurrected from his tomb
thus basis of belief in eternal life
but why then Easter egg and not Easter womb
is the question that cuts through mind like a knife
the answer being simply our head ovoid
shaped like the cosmic egg pure and unalloyed
out of which we’re hatched reborn when ego dies
paving way for spirit to reveal sunrise

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nails kiss his flesh~ yet palms cradle moonlight, soft as mercy. The thorn-crowned head still whispers, Forgive them, they are blind.
Premium MemberSANDPAPER SOUL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I scrape against the world like a rusted hinge~ my voice sometimes squeaks and splinters, my hands too quick to clench. Jesus walked on water, but I sink in the shallows, ankles weighted with the stones of the guilt and shame I carry. He fed five thousand with a boy’s lunch; I hoard my sandwich crust, counting the last bites. The lepers reached for him and he reached back~ unflinching. I disinfect my doorknobs. God, sand me down. make me porous~ a sieve that holds nothing but light.

Premium MemberI Follow Many Prophets and Teachers

I follow my heart, my intuition
I believe in
Jesus's selflessness for people
the great father of the native American tribes

I believe we are all one with the mountains, trees, sky, earth, wind

I follow my spirit guides who whisper into my ears
I am clairaudient, clairvoyant and clairsentient

My power animals are deer, wolf, turtle, snake
deer reminds me to be even tempered
wolf helps me stand up for myself
turtle shows me a clear path
snake instigates new beginnings

I follow many prophets and teachers, some of this earth
others, in my dream state
my main mantra is that God is Love
I believe we are all here to love each other
that love is the ultimate guide.

Premium MemberDivinely Miraculously Mysterious

Unfathomable to the human mind babe was born from virgin* womb midst faith's glow... ...miracle since facts can't overshadow reality's truth, divinely designed. Still haunting skeptics, yet exuding hope virgin birth does highlight sovereign might... ...spiritual delight of heavenly flight as soul trusts God to soar beyond grave's scope.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. January 12, 2026 1st place, "SOME KIND OF MYSTERY" Poetry Writing Contest Sponsored by Nette Onclaud; judged on 1/17/2026

Premium MemberTHE THORN CROWN

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, Jesus, I wanted to be like you~ to bleed without flinching, to kneel in the dust and mean it. Instead, I clutch my own crown, not of thorns but of ego and want~ sharp, crooked, never quite fitting. They told me salvation was nails, but my hands are soft, my wrists unbroken. I whisper forgive me to an empty room, and the silence answers: Try harder.
