Sluicing Poems

Premium MemberMidsummer Eve

Twilight whispers behind the blinds;
I barely see, but I believe,
In the ruby and orange rinds,
Moon blossoms of midsummer eve.

I barely see, but I believe
In the twinkling star diamonds,
Moon blossoms of midsummer eve.
Romantic ebon-sky widens.

In the twinkling star diamonds,
Circling like a halo above,
Romantic ebon sky widens;
Where there’s darkness, a lunar dove.

Circling like a halo above,
Juiciness of sluicing hues, wet.
Where there’s darkness, a lunar dove.
Pearly gates preserve the sunset.

Juiciness of sluicing hues, wet,
In the ruby and orange rinds.
Pearly gates preserve the sunset;
Twilight whispers behind the blinds.

"canon service"

“We follow the rules here”, he said incorruptibly
like he was untainted as holy water
from the incorruptible font,
he had an upward inflection in his voice
at the end of every punctuated point,
delivered like a canon service
his gun and bullets were larger
apparently...he was high, the pulpit lofty
far above the soaped-up sinners
some of us inside were grinning

too much alter wine
he was probably juiced,
then unctuously he shared his fat sermon
as if to convey to the congregated
a good and proper sluicing,
the service was poetic
no hymns in this church
salvation tamborines
to beat the devils out,
some of us inside were grinning

Candide Diderot. ‘23

Premium MemberRushing Out West

He’s rushing out West…got the itch.
and sluicing for gold…will be rich.
Took tumble out gate,
For such was man’s fate —
Cold rush of the gold up his ditch.

Cease

Chasing , incandescent light
Crossing , narrow steep street
Purgation, the raison d'être
I shall see, I shall see.

(Eyes shut)

Sluicing , the river ends
Splattering , the wisdom
Concealing, it's conscious
I shall hear, I shall hear.

(Ears shut)

Frantic , trees laugh
Rustling , seeking quite
Collapsed , without a word
I shall be, I shall be.

(Mouth shut)

after William Carlos Williams

My husband and daughter sleep
blind to the bleach
of street lamps
and every wellspring headlight sluicing
the dark

Pre-dawn but this cavity
chants of you —

Don’t smile
Don’t smile
Better to tongue
the deep, empty groove

I rise, pirouette across
cold parquet
The kitten shadows me
so we waltz until
it is time to commit

Keys under fingers
twitch, twitch
and my page glows as the black
prowls into this gentled grey

the taste of a cached penny
behind compressed lips

Hold your breath
make my wish

Free Them O' God

Free them O' God!
For, the wind is spewed with ashes of hatred,
The bilboes that wait to bangle the innocents,
Hauling them down the barbed streets,
And caging them up, to blaze in iron aviaries.

Free them, O' God!
For the ocean is not thirsty any more,
It is full till its gullet, quaffing in pints the viscous gore,
Sluicing out from the naive skulls,
And from the distressed hems of their hearts.

Free them O’ God!
For the sod is no longer bleak,
It has drenched itself in the guileless claret,
Flushing out from their green dead ingenuous veins,
And sloshing about under its skin.

Free them O' God!
For the day doesn't know, for whom to wake up,
When merry-go-rounds and slippery slopes,
Are becoming the roller coaster rides to deaths,
And the juvenile paper crowns breed orphans.

Free them O' God!
For even the night hasn't slept for years,
The sounds of tormented voices, in the lap of gunshots,
Are hovering and echoing in its ears,
Making it stone deaf in every midget of seconds.

Free them O' God!
Free them all!
Free your pure and guiltless mortals,
What sins have they sowed?
That you are making them plough for!

Inspired By a Horse Is Stresses In Dresses

Stresses in dresses are not wanting streams today they are wanting to watch a film where animals sing. It is great to know that a aqueous solution of a pickled onion jar is clever when unsealed and unsealed is neither a shark in a tank top, an exploding rhino suit, a gas game of monologues, a circumference of a chasm in a chapel chat, nor is it a notable noticed nothing. It is with reading glasses that a sewing pattern forms shapes and within shapes the hour glass chimes a pretty note and the citation from a chandelier competes always and only with a field of candelabras'. Radiographic radiuses' reaching radiant releases. And a dome in a dolmen is a chamber of commerce in a wheel. Spinning. Fantastic isn't it? Free forming synchronisation of seventy frogs hopping and hooping and hoping that an ordered meal will arrive soon in the basket bead. Ha the tail of a duck is extended down the canal and the boats trip over. Ha the capsized mirrored eels delivering the droppings of a giant metal pie. Pie of thought is slicing. Not sluicing. Slicing. And a little ant travelling carefully over the rocky tor. Xxxxxx intercorrellated z z z z z at a point to a pin and a pin to a paintpot. Z

Introducing Kenn Nesbitt, my choice for funny poet
Producing giggle poetry kids appreciate
Inducing guffaws that infect others with laughter
Sluicing silly nonsense on subjects kids can relate

Exciting themes on homework and animals Kenn writes.
Inciting worldwide laughs, in all this absurdity
Highlighting the imagination of any child
Inviting you to share this world of frivolity

Premium MemberThirst For Life

Summer's sun at noon is a wilting torture,
scorches earth and withers the flowers' faces.
Breath to whistle shrinks away, throats athirst are
choking for nurture.

Dessert's climate visits Missouri's surface,
cries for rain are shared by all earthly feeders.
Turtles, lizards, frogs, and the birds begin a
desperate search for

shelter. Foliage droops as the trees dig deeper,
blossoms shrivel, grass cannot grow. If rain is
absent, earth will suffer and die. But rain has
come. A dark nimbus.

Rivers rise as water is sluicing downward.
Life returns; replenishing showers blanket
earth with moisture, roses unfold their petals,
welcome the soaker.

Life's a Beach

I seek a dip in the ocean
Its cold, aggressive waters are therapy
It seems all of my troubles can slip away
With the rift of the turbulent sea

Walking across the warm sand
Its texture both heals and wounds
Reshaping and softening the skin
Working its way into every groove

That initial lick of ocean froth
As innocent as a salty kiss
Betrays the nature of its icy embrace
And the magnitude of the abyss

The current is stronger than I am
I am tossed and thrown about
At times I am not sure I will wind up
At the surface or be pulled down!

But once beyond the sluicing waves
I am in a paradise of tranquility
Alone, awakened and restored
I swim until the shore can barely be seen

Once home, the ocean scent lingers
Perfuming my hair and dreams
And as I nap, I am carried back
To the lullabye of the sea

Half-Closed Lids

This nothingness was overwhelming.
When words fail to tell the facts,
only silence talks.

That brutal interrogation of self
to undo the decline, like a
a viper in your home.

The mortgaged glow of stoned infant
in the exiled land, brings
the exodus of shrunken legs.

A shadow survives on the debris
of frozen voices,
sluicing through the cries.

Open the stitches of night.
Death was skirting the prison.
No ropes. No ropes.

Without Words

Dark mocha pools welling with liveliness
pulsating pink skin beckons flesh, i crave the forms from which all words commense
heavy rain sluicing down beading upon the macadam sagaciously i dance unshod
the words I haven't said to him yet
my incorrigible heart an inept journal pening lavishly about he, loathe am I to share entry
imploringly iterate a solidarity, his spirit taking me in an unyielding upsweep
duodecennial such an entreat, we converse without words knowing they only
lead my head down to the pillow where drowse I attain a dubitable dream
which will drone dulcet one sweet day
upon our common doorstep.

Benediction

How sad you had been
without wholeness for the,
price of having broken shoulders?
The people were shedding their skins
to wear new masks.
I was haunted in my sleep.
Sun was not rising.

House to house from face to face,
death makes a pause.
Time sits for a while, when
we mourn in silence.
A scream halts in our throats.
In the courtyard a pungent smell spreads.
Atrophied limbs tremble.

The elegance foresakes the human touch.
The river dries up,
sucked in by laments of earth.
The unfolding of wounds
festers on cheeks.
Lips sluicing the grief,
spill benediction !

Specious Rain.

Epiphanic thoughts
Erupting violently
Odd Conceptions
Chaotically dance
Within confines of mind
Rendering indecision
Empty answers
Sallow questions
Sluicing freefall
Over bottomless precipice
Panicked emotion
Building pressures
Rasping hard
For control.
Descending
Through austere winds
Terminal velocity
This raindrop hits
Exploding silence
Upon my forehead
Calming…

Golden Summer

Warm damp hair
Dew drops hang from loose curls;
Refracting rays of golden summer
Dance across a placid surface

Enveloping cool caressing currents
As bronzed arms pump and glide
Buoyant form sluicing toward the dock

Trickling water runs down my back
As I stretch up to kiss
Your warm damp hair
As your body shimmers,
In refracting rays of golden summer
