What if God was residing in that black hole

and God came to swallow us all up, and as if,

in the belly of that whale, we could all still breathe not drown,

we had time to think and make more of "It', that this,

 

in fact,

is not us -

that we could be more

than found;

 

facts? what good are facts?

when tomorrow is always fast upon us, on our backs,

and Love spent on the worldly is lost as if a game?

we risk the chance to unravel choice mysteries, we continue to tell our stories;

 

and here it reigns down upon us, the fabricated dream;

 

in that Book,

before too long all stories are made real,

we look for signs,

melting in our wild imaginations -

 

those of us who still have dreams,

 

we believe in them for all they're worth -

the unknowing confronts the known in this place,

we melt like butter on its tongue as it reads our words

we live inside its mouth
