A sudden shiver rushes down my spine.
Your shoulders move like you are on the prowl.
The flesh you dearly want to eat is mine,
say piercing green eyes, and deep, rumbling growl.
To be a housecat, you were never bred.
As a feline, you have my respect.
It's only bars that separate us two.
Don't kill me. Instead,
take the one who caused your free life to be wrecked.
Go kill the man who put you in this zoo.
Slinking across the floor
Like a living inkblot,
Hiding in doorways,
Waiting to pounce.
Singing to the moon,
The song of her people.
My little black cat—
A house panther supreme.
Amazon is my night penetrating
alert I sprung from branch tight
it is buck nutritious blood
observation stark from green-blue irises
beauty meets danger not looking away
lithe tongue saliva intestine surrender
Muscles sinewy, handsome black the Sky
claws ripping buck’s bones snap cracks
mitochondria leaps from atoms, stars dance
to splash spine fluid about sand wet soft
mirroring clear a rebirthing act
nature ascertains when to numb nerves to claws
no eluding life when hunger mud stalks
Iridescence watches flesh rip longing lick
buck relinquishing spirit ~ cannot groan
black fur transmuting flesh disappearing
leather into charcoal night appearing
her thickening her for next week’s killing
time folding ouroboros
Panther curls, tailing

The black panther sensed its prey.
The hunt began as a graceful gazelle
Foolishly strayed in the moonless night.
With powerful strides soon, the powerful panther
Gained on its intended tasty prize.
It smelled the blood almost too soon,
The wound inflicted on its lacerated neck.
Soon, it would die…..
I woke.
Sweat covered my whole body and
I trembled with the chilly night air.
There was nothing to do but
Take a quick shower and change,
Wash my blood-stained teeth,
Throw my dirty night tracksuit
Into the washing machine and
Go back to sleep. A futile hope.
The bed sheet was wet with sweat.
I had to use the other side of the bed,
The part where my wife used to sleep.
A sudden cosy warmth girdled me entirely,
I smelled the musk of the odiferous larch,
I heard the swish swash of waves of a lake
And for the first time in many nights
I slept without being absorbed of ugly dreams.
Fiction
I can be proactive despite my delay
In taking two pain pills so I can slay
Doing the things I can do well despite
A little brown bird of procrastination inside
I went to Goodwill to see what I’d find
Someone’s trash is a treasure of mine
I am so thrilled as I was in a blue bind
Teal goodies are here in the nick of time
Did my best to silver save a few bucks
Made a way out of no way God does
Autumn’s breath beneath whimsical wings
Ears drink notes the geese seem to sing
Daily prayers answered I am so blessed
Like a pink panther I prance in my dress
I’m a little tea pot petite purple loveliness
Not always on top but I denim do my best
The Pink Panther it's just timeless
Gallant and brave without any stress
His wardrobe is monotonous and girly
The intro music is jazzy and popularly
the jungle is dark
the panther colored in black
anxious to attack
jungle
warrior black
skinning out bare belly rogues
rends velvet tents of jagged night
rumblings under grey mists
panther
deadly beauty
embraces Reaper’s freedom
painful fated captivity
symbolic silence roars
black strength
sleek, powerful
raised black fist fights injustice
from the mountains to the prairies
freedom, justice for all!
"Black Panther"
Stalking
Danger to prey
Primal senses drive bloodlust
Jungle floor, once green, now seeps red
Teeth sink in; life cycles

Panther
blacker than night
at midnight, crouching to pounce
on those unaware of danger,
and those to blind to see.

A man had returned to the dust!
His friends had called to check on him
On this twenty-eight of August.
Not knowing he was a victim.
The night before, all three of them:
Greg Reid, Javon, and Michael B.
Knowing he was for them a gem,
Made sure, at home, he had to be.
Now, did they know he was dying
Or did they say "Bye" just in case!?!
The next day, they would be crying.
That day, the world had lost a man,
Black Panther who can't be replaced
was no other than Chad Boseman!
You cannot eat me! I am the king! The old man said.
The panther laughed and leapt straight for his head.
You cannot eat me! I am the king! The old man repeated.
The cat gobbled him up, showing him that he was defeated.
