Thank you Paige. It is interesting that cougars do not roar. They can only scream or growl. :)

I didn't see the movie about the person, or hero, but I've seen a jaguar right up close in the zoo, and your poem seems to describe it perfectly. The poor thing was behind glass and a cage and he wanted to be free so much. He paced back and forth looking at me, and I knew he wanted to eat me. Then, at a very low register, that i could feel in my spine, more than hear, he growls. Never forget it.

Wow-ultimate close encounter! A cougar in a zoo I visited paced back and forth, caught by my hair that was blowing freely, I believe. I didn't hear him, but it was quite eerie to watch his eyes watching me. Sad for the older me to watch a caged animal. Very sad...Hey! Thanks for stopping by! :)
