The sonnet form's antique and mired in dust,
Why should I strive thus so to write one well?
If bard I be then learn new styles I must.
Will I achieve my goal, who can foretell?
So here I sit again with pen in hand,
Attempting some new quatrains that will rhyme,
Entreating Muse to guide my falt'ring wand.
The formula, so strict, takes lots of time,
But I'll persist 'til fourteen lines are writ,
One final couplet crowning three quatrains,
Persistence now completing this last bit.
There's something 'bout a sonnet tests my brain.
Yet I prevail, these fourteen lines once one,
The prize obtained, this poet's work is done.

He, beseeching –
I raised my pleading eyes
as I saw you pass by.
You looked through me.
I was invisible.
My eyes searched
for understanding.
You did not say “I’m sorry.”
You busied your nose in your phone.
My thirst apparent yet
you offered nothing.
You clutched your coffee tighter
although you saw my want.
Your bagel a life-send,
you passed by imploring hands.
You turned away
from my entreating pain.
I, reproving –
Too late…to comfort you.
Too late…to buy your lunch.
Too late…to bring you coffee.
Too late…to listen to your stories.
Too late…to offer consolation.
Too late…to extend compassion.
Too late…to save myself.

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1Corinthians 15:55-57 King James Bible
Accepting death-appointment or avoiding its attack?
Bravely bowing to its beseeching or boldly beating its blow?
Circumspectly cautioned by its coming or cowardly curtailing its case?
Denying its dangerous duty or demanding for its determined destination?
Expecting for its entry or entreating for its exempting exit with excuses?
Faith in God helps me face death with fortitude
Graciously, I succumb to it when the appointed time comes
Helped to be ready since my soul is redeemed by the Saviour
Instilled with imputed righteousness with divine love
Just as I am… I cling to the Author of life for my last breath.

Bringing branches with their trunks, they start their festival with glee
Swinging silent bells at the pearl sailing in the night sky
Flinging away darkness and dirt, for light to finally see
Singing pearls in the branches, pray to the divine up high
Praying to the ship of fourteen gates filled with splendorous light
Begging the pearl-gathering angels to help them ascend
Entreating the Maiden of Light to continue the long fight
Worshipping Jesus the Splendour, the lord and gleeful friend
Inspired by Pliny the Elder's account of elephants worshipinng the moon with branches, while incorporating Manichaean beliefs about the moon.

Heart renewed
Power be true
Father guiding my mouth
Keeping more shut
Help me to speak
Edifications
Keeping my heart
Beating Sweet things
Sweet things
Oh! That my soul eats of the sweet things
Sweet things, those righteous sweet things
Those sweet things
Sweet things
Sweet things
Sweet things
Keeps my heart
Beating, God My Father my sweet thing
In my heart, my heart
Entreating so that I may receive His attention
And all of those His blessings
Sweeter is He for He is my sweetest thing
Sweeter is He for He is my sweet thing
So that I may receive His attentive listening
Halleluiah
Heart renewed
Power be true
Father guiding my mouth
Keeping more shut
Help me to speak
Edifications
Keeping my heart
Beating Sweet things
Sweet things
Oh! That my soul eats of the sweet things
Sweet things, those righteous sweet things
Those sweet things

gloom glides featherless angels to bleed the last ounce of ruby plasma
dim damp clouds strike silver lightening moisture from tense ebony eyes
inviting cobalt aura - glow saffron fire upon rainy faces
pleading for final noise to hit fading ears is howling newborn cries
entreating new flock to fly white Jupiter joy into sombre hearts
stars relinquishing titian rays as articles of their stardust soars
granting shadows plunging moonlight waves - melodies of hope in the light

"Halcyon moments are privileges for the destitute.", by the poet
The nectarous voices are whispering bye,
as seasons substitute one for the other,
remodeling landscapes harmoniously,
~~subtle surrenders,
A balmy brush of sand granules shifts a beach,
while warm bodies lie are gloriously blessed,
ere a quarterly sunset soothingly sound,
~~humid loses fair,
Pastoral renders reconciliation,
as a glamorous nature fluctuates gleam,
anon vividness slowly acquiesces,
~~restful greenroom folds,
Milk-warm coolly sedates creaminess cascades,
cushioning mellow fields of snowy delights,
entreating eyes amidst shimmering pleasures
~~picturesque shuffles.

As sanskrit simmers
upon the splintered mind
of savaged souls
the evolution of emotion
eloquently enters the environ
of your vulnerable virtue,
entreating the crying heat of your heart
to hasten no more
towards the shadow of shame,
Her Shadow sang the sorrow
of a suppressed sweetness,
a love forbidden in the phobia
of the world's dervishing dystopia,
sanctuary was not in her heart,
it belonged in her heated nerves
the expressway of uncompromised courage,
Her Shadow knows how her skin sweats
when the Damned dismiss her love,
Shadow knows how her eyes sting
from anything mean to her sincerity,
her Shadow holds her tears
in hands of ivory,
fantasizes that rage is beauty...

Speak to me, please, only of glad tidings;
Plant in my heart seeds of happy endings.
Receive me with open arms enfolding
Every piece of me take notwithstanding
All my flaws and our misunderstandings.
Desire not that I may lose my footing
In this world that is constantly shifting;
Not for selfishness am I entreating--
Give me joy that I may joy start giving.
How can I to others happiness spread
After all that I once loved are now dead?
Pray, tell me, in spite of evil widespread
Put happy thoughts in my mind and my head?
Inspire me, thus, to see beautiful things;
Nay, more than that, come be my help and wings.
Ease my pain, awaken my heartstrings
So that I, too, can deliver blessings,
Spreading pure happiness to all dwellings.

I wonder how so beautiful a flow'r
Is not endowed with much more power
As the rose that turns a look so dour
To something sweet, to smile and not glower.
Your pretty face turned constant at the sun
Is it a desire not to be outdone?
Or an entreating look to a beloved one
Whose love was sought once but he did shun?
Your dark green garb made even greener than
All the thick foliage that about you run
Makes your golden head shine brighter to stun
And dazzle the eyes like a thread finespun.
Oh, continue on this drab hill to grow
Give a touch of color to this tableau
That we who live in our houses below
May gaze on beauty in the afterglow.

Luminosity of the despondent star in the celestial land above
Had grown to be caliginous in nature
Dwindled its crimson gleam
Dissolved into newfound restlessness,
Parched, dark, waterless spring
Entreating for even a luster
Named a blessing buried underneath cloaks
The last cries of
A twinkle.
Flicker.

Walking along in the darkness
I stumbled on a concerning sight
A prepped victim
Wrapped in crystal light
The threads shone brightly
Around the torso and neck
But the blue head was uncovered
Showing thoughts, not yet dead
I looked for the spider in every space
Knowing she would come and feast
But there's no hurry
When the victim has no hope of being released
Why is the mouth and nose free
Must she watch the soul make its flight
Or is it hope that remains in the air
Entreating the spark to ignite the fight
...to LIVE
Every moment of every day
The anger builds and the ties bind
...tighter to keep the fighter
From waking then taking
Every thought captive
...revealing the killing will never be stealing

Allow me just to portion of your touch
My heart faces yours Lord my heart speaks
Tell it hey tell it to me speaks beatings
BLESSED in mind soul so entreating
My heart language private only for me and you Lord
You know my hearts all my spirit and my soul
Hearts language man knows not it's Essence
I love your presence as my heart my soul speaks holiday Father my heart speaks to you alone
Between us two we converse
FACE to FACE we relate

Every month, ovulating
Yearning, breathing in and out
In and out, breathing – inhaling
Exhaling, panting, gasping
Yearning, begging, pleading
Please, God, please!
Every month, echoing
The past months, the years
The tears adding up, rivers
Of yearning, hopes shattered
Moons coming and going,
Hearts breaking, interrupting
The prayers for a small cry,
Every month, praying, praying
Imploring God for a child
Little eyes, small fingers, toes
To count and kiss, breathing
In and out, the prayers,
Beseeching, entreating, praying
Every month, the blood
Drenching soft linens,
Soaking like tears, softly falling
Quenching the dreams
The echoing of prayers, yearning
Hope doused, darkness all around
Optimism fading into the shadows
Every month, a heart swells with hope
Then breaks, crushed by the weight
Of silence in the nursery,
Emptiness in the arms who long
To hold a baby, a little one, a light of life!
