Dilate Poems

Premium MemberThe Sound of a Jelly Roll

Sitting on a napkin or plate,
they cause my two eyes to dilate,
and there the silent ringing sound,
the sweetest not heard, the world round.
Can you hear, as angel bells toll
the chiming tones of a jelly roll?

Premium MemberA Siren's Song

Luna beckon's a siren's song
To reach the crescent moon,
she awakens before the water serpents arise,
and sea merchants sailing in from shores nearby
At crack of dawn and drawn to flickering lights,
night's natator of the bluest sea
zigzag's through the starfish
Caught in a seaweed beaded necklace,
tangled in nets sailors left adrift,
she reaches the open prismatic sky
A rainbow parrot fish tail flips over
smoothed sea glass rock
A siren goddess appears
Multicolored moments, eyes dilate
as indigo hues glow—it blankets
in silhouettes upon flowing strands of hair
Embracing the early morn with a sigh,
mystified mermaid from deep underwater
her thumping heart beats calm, in sync
with the crashing wave as it trickles down
A phenomenal crescent moon luminescent
As a cool salty wash laps the rocky shore,
it recedes with sizzling sounds leaving
pocket holes in the wet sand
Dawn calls with haunting cries,
she sings a siren's song

The Eclipse of Two

Besotted, ensnared and diverged thy pupil
Dilate the ache 'pon holy gate
Sewn son to sun of love'n marred and married gait
Palpate the touch o'titular chance
Kiss'd and carresed thy senile smile
Tipped'n tallied bashful sway, to fall
Away, and away, eyes to 'ssemble
And resemble the semblance of valour and holy hour
Mine to my own, to pitiful ponder
Shone Sun to shine 'pon th'drought of moon wept wonder
Sullied sultry shout yonder, and o'er the wind swept chimes
Of chortl'd laugh, and Sun sung sonnets
T'lay a kiss t'stain, and eclipse within th'sky.
Dearest, and dire to die for, Sun of mine.

glistening forehead
spacial calm
nostrils dilate
signalling build up of a sneeze
anticipation heightens
but the currents ebb
as magnetised eyelids hum
conjoined with heart
and enlivened spine
manifesting feeling of vibrance
as presence so witnesses
play of subtle bliss pulsations
pervading organic form
wherein we cannot predict
where rapture will spike
and thus we delight
in each offered surprise
in a time dissolved continuum

Premium MemberSea Of Love's Mystery

Your eyes a dark archipelago
Mysterious then exotic drifting across
  my shore;
I perceive their warmth inviting
While those lips blow a tangy flavour-
Irresistible, poised to reach for a kiss
Brewed by the kiln of summer’s
   ember…

Carefully, my logic examines the
     prospects
Between reason and wantonness,
As the fluid air spins amorously
And the evening grows too blind,
    naked--
The waves within my navel dilate,
    fluid as current's unknown motion...
I forget what happens next except, I
    was
Drunk with the body- rhythm of something
  untenably spontaneous;
Coasting on a body outside a bend
ebbing flowing through a belly and
   tendon

Of a conniving sea.

Premium MemberThe Promise

The gleaming of the sun on the snow in the winter
Teases your eyes with the rays – Squinter
Pupils dilate, taking in the glorious fluffy whiteness
The eye can see the vastness

The wind howls, deceived by the coldness
In one big gulp, it swallows a drift in its boldness
Survival hides beneath the mound of white
To emerge when it is time – excite

Life flows and ebbs, even in the stillness
Birds pecking in the chillness, so relentless
No leaves, no shelter from the storm
Side by side on a fragile branch – uniform

The game of life, so fragile from birth
When the snow melts, there is a rebirth
Tiny wings and baby steps – towards
Marching to the beat of another day – forward

Breathing,
Living,
Loving,
Trusting
In another tomorrow
The promise of a future you borrow

Evergreen Free

Curling swirling tenderly
To grasp and gasp and breathe the light of life back into me
Touch the skies with vines so like the fibres of an inter-mingling woven tapestry
Dazzles my eyes as I look at the flickering leaves, the pupils they do please, they tease

The rays pulsate, they dilate
It's a whispering love of an earthly kind
So at ease
Never die, evergreen free
To blaze all trails to the core of a world they
Only see

Oceanfront

Sea stalked by moon tonight in site
On waters that dilate gone by—
Its apparition's bed on shore,
That moon lays on like ruby's lure—
The knees clamber from salty might.

The tinting in her frosty side
Where she was swept once by the tide;
The backwhip of the swell still roars—
                       Sea stalked by moon.

As the mood on the beach is spry,
Combing while I'm alone with I,
Ill hearted at the gills; spoiled for
The sand dollar spends its life chore,
All washed out suddenly before...
                      Sea stalked by moon.

Bright jewel enshrined odyssey sparkles,
as haunted pneuma’s blinding sun quest,
sculpts sweet blissful dream escape plot,
from deep well nagging torrents,
wounded sigh raw throat rush,
magma spewing ire,
ashen inkling,
cerise dawn’s,
gleeful
prompt

Eyes
dilate,
at lavish,
surreal sights,
froth rim cascades dull,
imagined sudden ache,
or dark traumatic imprint,
spritely bird chirp’s amber wing dive,
honeysuckles gloomy vocal chord,
to pamper for a while my strained quiver

Rabid mishap cluster in harsh pickle,
fuel soaked match hazard an idle spark,
to set wild utterance aglow,
yet gold wisps of heaven lurk,
they remould skewed instinct,
despite life’s burden,
sigh a tiny,
wound doused with,
simple
joy

Snow Clock

Under streetlights
In the silence of snow
I am back when my breath was last this loud

Electric

You tug at my t shirt with your left hand and your nails graze my skin
Our pupils dilate, distending out to greet each other in a grotesque bridge of wet, dripping, obsidian flesh
So I feel like a black hole
I am a focus as intense as a drug
A rip on the edge of an edgeless sky
And we are all consuming
And we are almost one.

Sometimes
I wish it wasn’t this way, where I am a clock-watcher, and I glance up to see the hands always aligned.
And so where are we without an endless pull?
Without 12:30?
Without a 12:01?
The clock is broken
Or time has stopped
And it is stale
Or I am stale
Or we are stale

Silhouettes

You are the night
that makes pupils dilate,
illuminates the stars,
and conceals mistakes.

You are the night
that renders silence
a piercing, echoing,
dizzying, ring.

You are the night
cradling one to sleep,
and keeping another one
wide awake.

You are the night
which weaves reveries
---an urge to anticipate.

You are the night
which makes souls pirouette
and dances with their silhouettes.

Love we look for

Ripened hearts start to whisper ;
 happy faces emerge their glisters.
At night, the eyes dilate;
When dreams become their mate.
Call for warmth and devotion;
The truth of needed emotions.

Can this be a true love?
Or is it kind of?

They start Taking their path together;
Make promises that forever.
Their hands are embraced;
While their hearts getting blazed.

Can this be a true love?
Or is it kind of?

They piece together their future;
No matter who is their booster.
They wish this is their fact;
Accordingly, their world should react.
Respect, care, and empathy;
Are the address of their chemistry.

Can be this a true love?
Or is it kind of?

I believe that this is the love we all look for.

Premium MemberThe Impotent Poet

sputtering poetry,
   the impotent poet
      tells me, she was
“…puttering around Pittsburg.”

          potent poetry. perhaps,
        alluring alliteration
      potentially portends
   the winch to wind up
this bucket of water.

         diviner twitches, dips,
      dares to deviate
   direct, dilate.

like a mad scientist, moronic
   not to move these ready-made
sputters into a test tube, shake
         and let them explode!

an avid, alliterative logophile
   holds the power to possess,
to render the procession of
   spoken word into usefulness.

alert to the prowess of moving lips,
   gears cranking creativity and giddiness,
glad tidings go on and on, when
sputtered with regards to my sister’s trip.

Premium MemberHow To Mellow

Catch tugs towards their berth
  Little yacht traipses triangular trail
  Cottage clasping slope admires bay
  Fisherman’s wife swells, eon enamour

For his boomerang voyage, she brings
   Tomato rocket fishpaste pita bread
Thermos of jasmine tea, to picnic
   Basket bemuses bee buzz blooms

    Manna powder release from each
    Pink proclamation jesters jostle
    Solargold galaxies galavant, plentiful
    Dianthus dilate, lemon balm overlap

Pale gravel path merges blonde sand
   Their footsteps converge, bone beige
   Neck nuzzle murmurs leather bound
   Sunstrike bounces blind broadwater

   Diminished senses replenish focus
Duty for union, find food free of market
   Encapsulated in cove of commitment
   Genmaicha gratitude values volume

Birth of the Night

Birth of the Night

Thou eyes look low, though
I dare thou to gaze on high,
As have I, even now my pupils dilate, they grow,
Despite my tendencies to lie
So, please, forgive me when I pry,
as there is, in fact, no sky.

I swear it, Tis not a jape,
Tis truer than if mine eyes had undergone visual rape.
I have not mistook, nor mistaken,
and please now, do not be shaken,
as though from a slumber thou art now awoken.

So I urge you to look, at what was taken, at what they took
As when your gaze lifts high, even I can not deny
what I struggled to see with thine eye,
together gazing into the abyss that reached distant and afar, oft leaving us bewildered with jaws ajar.

'suppose thou art fated to die,
my good friend, you and I?
For the great shadow has doth descended
thereby devouring the sky.
