There was a time when I hated cats and would kill a cat in a New York minute. That’s terrible and that’s evil. I had all the markings as a young boy that would indicate I could’ve quite possibly turned into………
But. Thankfully I came to Christ. HE delivered me. Now I no longer have the desire in my heart to kill things. I won’t kill a cricket or even a grasshopper. Which leads me to the story of the feral cat.
 I haven’t actually shed a sobbing tear in a long long time. The last time I remember for real crying was over an animal.  
We have had some feral cats that live in our yard and back alley for a long time now. My two big dogs will kill a cat and crunch it to death in about three seconds. I hate that. When and if one of those cats get into our backyard (and they will sooner or later) it’s over. The dogs have killed multiple cats in the last few months. Finally I came to the conclusion that if I can trap those cats and take them to a good place where they can be fed and watered and live, it would be better than leaving them in their comfortable surroundings that they are used to, only to be killed by mean dogs. And it would save their lives because it’s just a matter of time. These dogs are patient and they WILL get all the cats sooner or later.  So I trapped one. Here I am trying to save its life, with it steadily snarling and hissing at me trying to get away. The poor thing could not understand that I was in actuality saving its life. I knew what that cat most likely didn’t completely understand. That sooner or later the dogs were gonna kill it, but that I had no intent to harm it but was trying to save its life. I managed to take it to a place where it will be fed and watered every day and safe. And let it go. 
What is the kingdom principal? I wonder how many times in my life the Lord has worked toward my good when I didn’t understand it, and I fought Him clawing and hissing the whole time. The word of God says that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. How many times have you gone through a season in your life when the Lord was trying to work for your betterment, and maybe even used humans to try and teach you or help you, but you wouldn’t listen? I can think of more than one time as a young Christian when older and more seasoned men of God tried to coach me when I wasn’t coachable. As well as times when I fought the Lord kicking and screaming while he worked me through a place that would actually heal me and not hurt me. Sadly, the Lord still has to interact with me many times the same way even after all these years. So many times I feel like that cat in that cage hissing and growling, while the Lord is taking me to a place emotionally and spiritually to actually protect me. I felt bad for that cat today. I tried to tell him that I was not going to hurt him and that he can trust me, but the poor cat never did believe me and hissed and growled at me the whole time. He couldn’t understand. Just like most of the time I don’t understand the Savior.  I’m so thankful that He saves and protects my spirit even when I hiss and growl. 
Question? when is the last time you hissed and growled at the Lord while he was saving your life? I personally do not want to answer that question. I am thankful for His mercy and His grace in my life even when I’m hissing and growling.
He is Good like that.
