The Future As Best I Remember
Then right became wrong and wrong became right
And those screaming for peace only wanted to fight
Asleep in the day only moving at night
Deeds of darkness done brazenly
Unseen in plain sight
Life had no value and truth became small
With justice in hiding
And hate standing tall
With deception the talisman
We waltzed at the ball
Til the bell rang at midnight
And startled us all
We looked for our heroes
But none could be found
Honor despised
And cast to the ground
Heavens now brass
Wines bitter and vile
Bread stale and moldy
Virgin brides with no smile
The dreams of our fathers
Imprisoned and dying
We had learned so much yet slowly gone blind
