Notes About The Poem

i was going thru all my stuff getting it in order and trying to get all the stuff I have written together to give my kids after I leave the planet. I found several that never got finished, or posted. This was one of em that I just never finished. Needs a bridge and another verse that just never came to me. Oh well.

Doing Ok

Monday morning came with cold north wind
And I put my hat on, ducked my head
And faced the day again
And for me I just don't know no other way
Just like my daddy's daddy did
There's no one takes the blame
.
Let the wind blow where it may
Let the rain fall and I'm OK
Let time carve out the lines, in my face.
All I know is that I'm still alive today
And I'm a doing ok.
.
And my woman still holds me tight at night
Don't start no trouble won't be no trouble
Unless you want a fight.
.
Let the wind blow where it may
Let the rain fall and I'm OK
Let time carve out the lines in my face.
All I know is that I'm still alive today
And I'm a doing ok.

You should finish this, I think it's really good. =) In any case, thanks for posting it, I enjoyed reading it tonight, I appreciate the understated feelings of contentment. Sometimes, just being ok, is enough. In fact, those who are constantly living for a thrill, I would imagine, are frequently disappointed.
