Notes About The Poem

This is an ode to Pink Floyd. Lol if you're not a fan you won't understand any of it. It's composed of fragments and song titles from the first album pipers at the gates of dawn to another brick in the wall. To all you Floydians, enjoy or at least scoff or laugh.

The Lunatic Is On the Grass

Unknowingly unable again to ever feel
As I stand gazing at the gates of dawn
Arnold Lange in evening heels
Awkwardly walking across the lifeless lawn
The pipers playing softly in the rays of a new sunrise
Luring the horizon into interstellar overdrive
See the gnome, the scarecrow as they ride the bike
Are they Alone or living or are they just alive?
Syd stands smiling like the fool on the hill
Matilda Mother Lucifer Sam
Never knowing never will
Chapter 24 is Flaming
And unable to talk
Court Jester is raving
Take up thy stethoscope and walk
Shine on you crazy diamond
I wish you were here
Have a cigar dear boy
And Breathe in the air
You've missed the eclipse
So welcome to the machine
Share it fairly any colour you like
As long as it's green
Don't worry in Time you can have it all
As long as you remember
You're just another brick in the wall
