Living In Utter Madness

These walls are made of sedimentary stone,
it's a desolate house with glaring glass windows;
they emanate the reflection of distorted images,
gulls twirl around it, their shrills have a dark tone.

How quickly I have aged by noticing these deep lines
across this face that was as smooth as a child's skin;
doesn't time ravage everything, leaving a bitter grin?
Whoever envisions only joy is startled by surprises.

Do we restrain ourselves or live in utter madness
to reject the dreadful thought of each abstinence?
Does pleasure alleviate fears in hopeless moments?
Wouldn't it be a refuge from denial to seek resistance?

This rapid existence has a deadline for glory or demise,
being alive is virtuous thankfulness to implement reason
and choose the easiest temptation or the hardest choice;
the decision rests on either: become a saint or a demon.

The
utter impossibility
of no separation
or separation~
yet an immediacy
of a streaming
dance of separation~
may seem astounding
and ordinary~~

Utter Nonsense

Allow me to introduce
the hermit Hugh
who
I do deduce
felt it within himself
to eschew
an embrace
yet
being obtuse
when on a wild chase
did goose a moose
in the caboose
then a disgrace
but such behaviour
did induce
Bruce
another recluse
to pick up the pace
when playing footsie
under the table
fast and loose

Premium MemberUtter Emptiness

I find myself feeling utterly empty so often.
I find myself putting nails on my metaphorical coffin.
I find myself dwelling on what could have been and what could happen.

Utter Silence

Silence
   so loud
who knows the sound?
Who, at a point in life has not utterly drowned
in what
is silence?

Always searching
   reaching for something
Beyond the veil
    into the darkness
Catching a glimpse
    of the life
        so, needed
heart beat rapid
           never completed
yet never grasping
at full life
       set back
 in silence

Oh, how I wish
  I could run
      so free
On fields of green
   the rivers,
      the trees

And Sunlight!
  oh, what wonderous warmth
with flowered aromas
           and air so sweet

Yet
Silence...
is always around
     Tell me
dear stranger
           Where is life found?

An Utter Lack of Pants

My strung-out limbs grow like plants
Head in the clouds, toes with the ants
Branches sprout, leaves strewn about,
Now I’m walkin’ ‘round with an utter lack of pants

My eyes swirl like big lollipops
Cogs and wheels, they just won’t stop
Sugar melts, candy belts
Now I’m full of air like a cold can of pop

My propeller spins on my funny hat
I float away, to never come back
Heavy body, I fall out of the sky
Now I’m on the ground and I just want to cry

My skinned knees bleed through my jeans
Drawing eyes, I only displease
I stumble not walk, I struggle to talk
Now I’m nothing more than a can of dead fleas

My fellow Americans have become utter fools
     supporting two-state solutions, Hamas-led rule

They abandon Israel, our one reliable M-E ally ~

The Words We Cannot Utter

Can you recall a time
When words could scarcely say,
The sorrows on your mind
Or joys of yesterday?

It often is the case
When urge is met with pause,
That silence stills our tongues
And minds us of our cause.

A broken heart disdained;
A love you gladly found:
Words we cannot utter
Lay littered on the ground.

I’ll fix them in my hands
And mail them to the stars,
For surely God will hear
And heal our carnal scars.

If e’er you lose your voice
Amongst the noisy clutter,
I’ll speak on our behalf
The words we cannot utter…

Do you fear dying?
Have you breathed utter darkness
that tests your resolve?
The night is ghastly only
if you lose sight of Heaven.

Premium MemberUtter Silken Threads

Listen to the forest in the depth
of one’s mind and craft
arresting soundscapes
from within.
Gaze into a spectral morning
dazzling anew and watch
those scales that slither
from one’s eyes,
Utter silken threads that pulse each vein
with choral church bells ascending
 thru a literati conduit.
Wallow in the cascade of an oceanic blue
and cherish every vital sea green moment

Utter Silence

Utter Silence.

You stare at the page wondering where it all went wrong;

Was it you?
No, that can’t be right…

But then if it wasn't you then you wouldn't be here at this moment.
You wouldn't be here in the dead of night.
here with just your thoughts-
Just you-
You are what's wrong-
No.

The Utter Silence seems to agree.

Who let it have a say in this anyways?

… Was it you?

Because you’re afraid of The Utter Silence,
It entraps you-
makes you start to think about the things you did and can never recover from
It makes you question-
makes you paranoid-
makes you think there's always someone waiting in the corner.
And you can’t do anything about it.

The Utter Silence seems to agree.

Who even started listening to it in the first place?

Oh… It was you.

Because you’re afraid of The Utter Silence,
you put in headphones to drown it out.
You listen to music so loud that your brain can feel the bass…
but its never loud enough.
“Louder, Louder until I can't hear it anymore” The scared part of you screams

The Utter Silence seems to agree

In Your Breezy Embrace

I stand barefoot in the golden yellow sand,
yearning for your tender touch,
as you steadily approach with gentle steps;

I see the vast sea softly dousing the shore,
and my words come out in a gasp of sob,
as I utter your name in fond hope;

Come, oh love, breathe life into my weary soul
and wrap around me playfully,
touching my warm cheeks with your cool breath;

Hearing your soft murmur of angst
wafting smoothly into my ears,
I whisper in your ears my aches of love
and heave a sigh of soothing relief..

My Utter Goal and Priority

Calm like a mountain brooding o'er the sea,
And creeping like a snail, unwilling to travel a distance,
Her love came, engulfed me down to the origin of my soul,
I couldn't resist the angelic glimpse of her beauty.

Her love for me is coated with romance, power, sugar and passion,
Each day I couldn't feel her breath upon my cheek like a perfumed air,
It's as if I'm living in a room with no roof,
And If I'm to sound more wordier in description of our time together,
I think each moment was an iridescent bubble fresh-blown from the lips of ecstasy.

Her soft touches, her disarming smiles, her presence, personality and style,
Mesmerize and entangle me completely and limitlessly,
If I had but one ambition, one utter goal and priority,
It would be to worship, adore and stay by her side for eternity,
Without breaking this oath and resolution like a twist of rotten silk.

Just for Rachel Okorie alone.

Premium MemberUtter Balderdash

"That's utter balderdash," I loudly screamed
you can't catch a dragon with a mousetrap.
This operation proves you have no clue
we're in trouble; put on your thinking cap!

I'm sorry, but luck is not on our side
and we don't have the time for dissension.
Apples to apples we don't stand a chance
it's your life; you had best pay attention.

Jumpy, you're frightened of your own shadow
and before nightfall you'll be hearing things.
Setting traps is a total waste of time
it's a foolish plan, for dragons have wings.

You boggle my mind; I have to speak out
let’s let common sense affect the outcome.
Don't risk getting seen, until we spot it
and don’t attack it with pitchforks, that’s dumb.

We'll need to do everything in stealth mode
using a password other than guess who.
And by employing our wits, we’ll listen
for a kerplunk; dragons like water too.

And then we’ll fling out all our fishing nets
that we'll secretly prepare in advance.
And hope it gets hopelessly entangled
for I think drowning it is our best chance.
