In night's chance, my eyes found you,
and my heart saw love.
Since, my heart fantasizes
your heart had glanced back!'

Premium Member Hi there, Stranger

Sit and buy me a pale ale
while I regale you with
a tale written in braille
by a man stale in jail with
no avail to raise bail.

Curtail the detail ~ suffice it to say
how a frail male whale wailed when
again and again failed dislodging
a rusty nail impaled in its tail.
Not to derail but meanwhile
across the vale, a snail and quail
hightailed it but strayed off their trail ~

Once all were put up for sale,
t’was the female who tipped the scale.
It’s not much of a tale but
thanks for the ale, it was tasty.
Inhale ~ now let's enjoy an upscale cocktail.

fantasy i

aboard the 71, about halfway down the left side
i sit facing forward, heart leaping as he embarks—
he’s on the way to the grocery store,
   or his sister’s house,
   or work, but he’s running late;
standing room only
he grabs a handle facing me.

he catches my eye and i his,
waves at me with all five fingers and
i wish to hold them in mine, trace
the outline of the bones in his hand,
look into his eyes deeply,
see what’s true;

two stops later, a seat opens up on the right—
   one row ahead.
   dark, curly hair.
   i take measured glances,
don't stare don't draw unwanted attention.
i want his arms around me,
to look into his eyes some more.

he disembarks.

Silhouette of a Stranger

The bloody stranger stank of rank grass and
Animal grime and strutted unnoticed on
Our threshold on a long, misty night.

Lightning, unaccompanied by rain,
Exposed his grisly image,
Comprehended quickly by the village griot,
A humepenthe with seeing eyes, though blind,
Who could smell danger even from long-dug holes of
Doss-houses from distant caverns.

A common, vile dictator is abroad tonight!

Premium Member Stranger things have happened song version

Stranger things have happened

Lightening strikes a man twice,
and he lives to tell
Said he never thought twice,
about the tolling bells

Refrain
Oh yeah, Oh yeah,
Stranger things have happened

The world watched as a child,
was pulled out... alive
Three days under the rubble,
with no way ...to survive

Refrain
Oh yeah, Oh yeah,
Stranger things have happened

Chorus
I know you told me, last year,
you were still in love with him
And the odds of you coming,
back are... pretty slim
but...I believe... still...I believe
(because)
stranger things have happened

I've seen a man free fall,
back to earth from space
He came back without a scratch,
and a smile on his face

Refrain
Oh yeah, Oh yeah,
Stranger things have happened

Chorus
I know you told me, last year,
you were still in love with him
And the odds of you coming,
back are pretty slim
but...I believe... still...I believe
because,
stranger things have happened

Oh yeah, Oh yeah,
Stranger things have happened
Oh yeah, Oh yeah,
Stranger things have happened
(repeat and fade)

When the sun bloomed
And the bougainvillea blossomed
And her cheeks unfurled
Into a long smile
At sunset,
I had her in my arms;
I knew her.

When the whales sprayed silhouettes,
And the fishermen made their bets;
Porpoise stitched the sea
Into a sunset dress

For her to wear at the dance
That night after we argued
About strangers.

(And please don’t talk to them
And don’t drink
And don’t dally about
And don’t be someone else
I don’t know.)

Don’t be a stranger
When you come home
when the sun rises,
Blooming.

Stranger

You are, the light between the danger
you are, the one who thought you'd never find her
and when, storms are nearly over,
you'll shelter me, shelter me

and waves, like an ocean perfect stranger
came out, to free me, free me
all because, your love will always save her, save her
from drowning, nearer, nearer

you step , into the water, to rescue her, and rescue me
and took away , all stormy danger, how can that be
how can that be

so you shine, between me and all the danger
as freezing water, was it's perfect stranger
and when , the storm is nearly over
you'll find her, you'll find me

tribute to film ' Ondine'
Song- Lisa Hannigan 'Braille'

I was a stranger

You have a new message
'oh did you forget about me'
no but your picture suggested
we couldn't inhabit the same universe

There was a lunchtime meetup
I tell myself I am not that sort of person
but maybe you were for one wild week
five dates in three days

'I always say I didn't chose acting
acting chose me'

We had a coffee, saw some art, she
invited me to accompany her to an
appointment

'I'm no good at this, I never was'
that's what she said
but I always thought it was my line

Premium Member Stranger Things for Strangers

Play staged, they came,
mostly strangers to the stage,
as first time viewers,
to watch the play -
'Stranger Things: The First Shadow'.
Noisiest crowd I ever heard,
au naturale, to boot.
They ate popcorn, mumbled throughout,
if bored they left,
if frightened they screamed,
if spellbound they gasped,
if awestruck they sighed,
if saddened they moaned.
The live stage play
in Charing Cross Road was
veritably Elizabethan,
with Shakespeare backstage
in the bleachers.

Premium Member A Stranger among Strangers

A stranger among strangers,
when the poet stands apart,
He poses a threat to the future.
You were here; I was there,
healing the world with our prayers and lyrics.
This is no mere nightmare.
the world that shuns a poet
sends them into oblivion—
just another forgotten poem.

Each new poet carries a powerful idea.
Poetry and artistry converge in every hidden word.
Faded poems curl like a half-moon,
fading, fading, and disappearing far too soon.

Howdy stranger

I don't know who you are
I don't know your name
I might know where you live
And maybe even a guess on how you look
But it's all a bridge of uncertainties
Only when I walk on it will I know
If it stays of if it falls
When it shall fall I shall know it was never true
But what if it stays still
Will I be brave enough to cross it
And will I be brave enough to come to you
How will that day feel
I only ask of you to let me love you
That's all I've wanted from a while
To love
And to love you unconditionally
That would be the greatest achievement of mine afterall
So please let me know how when we walk past each other
Throw me a Hello
But until we meet again, keep loving me
And keep making beautiful memories

In The Tears Of A Stranger

I learned many things from him ...

That the trackless path
is gifted
to those
who believe
That the distance
between thoughts
can only be connected
by words
That the idea itself
 is worthless
without the thing
it expressed
That tomorrow
is no more important
than yesterday
or today
That the bullfighter
must never die
with the bull
still alive
That revolution
is the truest place
where death
is reborn
That real courage
is only measured
by the one
sorely lacking
That to love her once
is better
than to love
her again
That you must
when you must
until the bugles
have stopped
That worshipping
oneself
is life’s fatal
devotion
That the jungle
we chase
is the jungle
we live in
That the willingness
to say it
frees a willingness
to act
That each great new
adventure
begets a greater
new ending
That in the tears
of a stranger
bleeds the heart
— of a friend

(Key West: January, 1994)

stranger

then one day,
a stranger will walk into your life.
before you know it, rambling conversation
will turn into late night laughs
that turns into meeting families
that turns into creating a family.
only little you knew,
how much this person would mean to you
and,
while you’ve known them such a short time
you feel like you’ve loved them a lifetime

The Red Eyed Stranger El Alborotado

Written By:

A.K.A El Alborotado
-----------------------------------
To support all of this emotion
to take everything in stride
to up lift to and to encourage
put all that doubt and envy aside
how can go on saying
when so many want me o fail
hold my head up and keep on stibing
hoping one day I would prevail
Keep me grooving to the music
gone darling do your thang
breakfast was so delicious
Darling you treat me like a King
about yesterday I apologize
but don't keep doing that sorta thing

Your Ole man
started hushing
stopped talking when I came around
he get up when I started sitting
acting like he didn't want me around
his actions both subtle and overt
had an impact on everything
made me feel like ah fifth wheel
put a dark cloud on everything
got mad and started cussin
that's not a nice or respectful thing
got in the way of our performance
putting a damper on everything
now I'm ah red eyed stranger
a tear drop fell in my beer
all that cussin and fussin
is such annoyance
it put's ah damper on everything
