I’m sorry,
I didn’t mean to leave so suddenly.
I really miss him
and I still care about him.
I was just scared
that he was upset with me,
and instead of talking about it,
I left.
I feel ashamed about it.
I don’t want him to hate me.
I don’t want him to think
I left because I didn’t care.
I just don’t like affection.
I don’t like love.
I don’t like relationships.
They make me uncomfortable.
I’ve always felt uncomfortable with them.
I don’t know why.
Every time someone gets close to me,
part of me just wants to leave.
But with him,
I actually felt happy.
And that’s what makes me feel worse,
because I really did care about him,
and I really did like being with him.
I just can’t stay.
It doesn’t feel right to me.
It never does.
Even when everything is good,
I still feel like I need to get away.
I wish I knew how to explain it better.
I wish I could just be normal about love
and not feel so uncomfortable with it.
But I can’t.
So I left,
and I’m sorry.
Maybe one day
I’ll understand myself better.
Maybe one day
I’ll stop being scared of love.
Maybe one day
I’ll learn how to love.
But right now,
I just don’t know how.
To numb the feeling,
I had to halt the healing.
For a moment I longed to confess,
The next moment, doubt made me suppress.
So I pulled myself back from telling —
I hope it's not your heart that's shelling.
Even if my silence hurts you,
Stay happy, stay free and true —
You deserve a love unbound.
Don't look back — don't turn around.
Everything i did for you
Is not enough
The sacrifice i bid for you
Is not enough
Everything I've been through
I'd do it again for you
Everything I've bled through
I'd do it again for you
The things that i would die for
Is not enough
The things they took my life for
Is not enough
Wanted me on the side walk
Fighting a psy-war
You are the one that i try for
is not enough...
Everything I've been through
I'd do it again for you
Everything I've bled through
I'd do it again for you
I stopped thinking about me
When i think about you
I stopped thinking about me
When i think about you
Everything I've been through
I'd do it again for you
Everything I've bled through
I'd do it again for you
I’m sorry I curse at you with every breath.
I’m sorry I sometimes wish you death.
I’m sorry I’m not the daughter you wanted.
I’m sorry your dreams for me are haunted.
I’m sorry I detest STEM.
I’m sorry I love what you condemn.
I’m sorry you got kids you didn’t want.
I’m sorry I’m not someone you can flaunt.
I’m sorry for a great many things,
but I’m not sorry for everything.
I’m not sorry for wanting to be better than you
I’m not sorry for wanting a heart so true
I’m not sorry for not chasing success
I’m not sorry my life isn’t a game of chess
I’m not sorry for pointing out your flaws
I’m not sorry your preferences aren’t laws
I’m not sorry for having a favorite parent
I’m not sorry mom’s love for me is apparent
I’m sorry for a whole lot
but for everything, apparently not
I hope someday we can laugh about this
and that our relationship won’t be amiss.
I do love you dad
You just make me really sad

Even in today’s world, there are more things that would make a man happy than sad---all easy to get and free. But there are people whose default mode is to feel sorry, virtually a defect mode. This ghazal dwells on this irony.

On crest or in valley, they’d feel sorry,
Take them to place any, they’d feel sorry.
Take them even to the Eden Garden,
Looking wan and weary, they’d feel sorry.
Those intent on feeling forever blue,
On days sanguine sunny would feel sorry.
Those in love with their dreary history,
Turn things cheery, teary to feel sorry.
Let Fate bestow a lucky break, I’d stake
My last silver penny, they’d feel sorry.

My poetry!
“I'm always hungry.”
“I never know why.”
“I eat. And eat. And eat.”
“I'm never full.”
“Maybe it is their screams?”
“It couldn't be?”
“I made sure to rip their vocal cords out?”
“Why can I still..
“hear them?”
The blood started to puddle around me
It gets higher. Higher. HIGHER.
“Im going to drown.”
“I feel their hands wrapping around me, it hurts..”
“Im sorry”
I whisper, no one will hear it anyways.
It's not true anyways. I'm still hungry.
So I'm still the monster they scream
as I tear away the innocence they once had.
From my drone, I see you far below
The elk stampedes, the red rocks glow
I'm like the storm over the plain
Can you outrun the rain?
You hope to make it to the black rock lands
But no-one is left, no helping hands
My drone lets loose, a bolt from the blue
The earth erupts, but it misses you.
You think of sunshine before this war
No idea back then what was in store
That foolish empathy now seems in vain
Can you outrun the rain?
You galloped the prairie, now your horse is lame
You dismount you and jog, can't face the blame.
Behind you thunder shakes the plain:
Can you outrun the rain?
You think of the horror that you helped bring
The bombed-out craters where vultures sing.
Truth wasn't your value, that was your stain
You seeded the cloud and now comes the rain.
I send a new command to the drone
I can't go through with this, so I call it home.
My heart goes out to you, I feel your pain
I'll look away while you outrun the rain.
From behind her Tina yelled ‘Boo’
no clue as to what that might do
Watched in unspeakable horror
her aging sister pitched forward …
Tina’d like a happy ending
~ no time left for mending
I am sorry to inform you that I had accident at home and I am now in hospital.
It will take some time to recover
I hope to back soon
Victor Buhagiar
I been staring at the water,
looking for somebody’s fault
I found that the river tastes the same
no matter who adds salt
I kept replaying every sentence,
every pause that hit too hard
Seems that’s how a heart’ll memorize
what the mind just calls a scar
I thought the river might explain,
pick a side and tell me who’s who
But it just kept pulling every story
until they all bled into blue
Funny how the shoreline
never begs the tide to stay
It just keeps being shoreline
while the water finds its way
Maybe that’s what hurts the most
not the blame, not being right
Just watching that swaying boat
learn to drift by into the night
So if the river’s got a memory,
I hope that it keeps the laughs instead
Because carrying every grain of salt
ain’t ever raised the dead
It must have been April when we both strayed
Vindictive, I refused to warm fire’s glow
When livid words raged... triggering my ire
Though pleading sorry, I shunned Kate’s hello.
Yet at nights when laughter used to ripple,
I knew burning bridges kept us apart ,
And missed all our years graced by kinship's bliss;
Enduring rain and snowstorm of life's chart
On Kate’s doorstep I knocked to mend this rift...
How my eyes burned like splinters of dark ray;
She had gone -- far off--- my closure too late
A void bitter ... oh on her natal day.
Sorry is the hardest word, even worse when it to late
Only then we realise the regret it could've been easier
Remember the pain felt caused by the actions caused
Regrets we face when didn't take that one opportunity
Yes sorry may be a simple word it has power behind it
I realized I loved you when you weren't here —
Glad that I realized, but never free
Of the regret that I never let you know,
Never made my love a certainty.
I was merely a ship to your heart,
Passing, unnoticed, drifting apart —
I wish I'd been the traveler all along,
Walking your journey, not watching from afar.
When the nights grow cold,
Do you miss me the way I miss you?
Do you hope I was still by your side,
Or has that hope grown cold too?
Pardon me
But I fail to see
Any beauty in the nuptials of
