Premium Member Rain's Mournful Song

Wrathful tears ripen shame
and sows conscience-stricken seeds of self-loathing.
Scourged by the storm’s desolate dirge
this flimsy canopy offers no protection
as the wind-driven rain rides roughshod over me.

To the Lady I Never Love

Maybe a jerk I am
For making away with your precious heart
With this little smile of mine.
Maybe a bigger jerk I am
For not dotty about it.
I know the softness of your touch
That could make a doll speaks
Would melt not the stone in my heart.
I know in a room filled
With thousands of people
Those bright blue eyes of yours
Would Only seek mine.
The way you held me so tight
All through the night
Make it all conscience-stricken
'Cause you love me so much still
Even when you know I can't love you

It's all an unsolvable riddle
Why the magnet in my heart
Would resist the forces from yours.
Others stare at you
You stare at me
But, I stare away.
You breathe me in
And wear me around as a crest.
But I breathe air and nothing more.
It all pricks
'Cause you love me so much still
Even when you know I don't love you.

Eternally Alive

golden tendrils light the way,
glisten against the gate open wide,
out pour the angels, into the galaxy,
speeding along on celestial tide,
search for souls, some coming alive,
search for souls, recently died

those coming alive, confused, cry,
remember no past, trapped in new life,
unsure the future, how long it will last,
comes an angel to watch over and protect,
to remain and comfort until last breath,
then to guide a worthy soul
into the loving light of eternal life

those recently died, conscience stricken,
scream with fear, have no past,
trapped in everlasting night,
an angel, long departed, returns
to give testimonial, of one,
who cared more for life,
than the warmth and comfort of the light,
will now guide an unworthy soul,
into eternal blackness and never ending night

golden tendrils light the way,
the gate, gently sways, then closes all the way,
the angels return into the realm of God's eye,
souls eternally alive
