And, especially now with Covid so terribly relevant.
There may be no tomorrow for our friends, nor or us.
Don't they understand that a grave maybe covering one or both of us?
We stand at the very precipice of our life's very end.
Do not communicate with those, forever in a hurry!
The frustration of being turned down, again and again,
Bid them a final adieu, right there and then.

TURNING IT LOOSE
I'll tell you it's no simple thing,
this thing I have to say,
but time has come, so bear me out,
there is no other way.
I never thought I'd be someone
to hurt someone like you,
and if you take it all that hard,
I don't know what I'll do,
except to wish you better things,
as I want them for me,
you know you have a tender touch,
to those who look and see;
and I know some wait anxiously
and hope you might like them,
I've seen them look at you that way,
so chances aren't so slim.
Now I am wanting someone else
who's sort of like, your friend,
and waiting for the time to come
when you and I will end.
I've thought of these things for some time;
and now, what is the use,
in keeping on the way we are,
it's time to turn it loose.
I wanted to hug you tonight
even though it would not ease your pain
I wanted to say it would be okay
even though your eyes had lost their shine
I wanted to be the ear that you needed
when your hurt and pain flowed from your lips

OH, I just can’t! I have to!
Perhaps it will be just as bad as I thought,
But just maybe I’ve built this up in my mind

I’ll look and see if there aren’t some positives.

I’ll eat a good breakfast and play with the cat.
