Thou hast knocked
thrown thy rocks 
at my window

Perhaps open heart surgery
a sharp tool required
to get thru decades of barricades

the ship that sailed is docking 
the mutiny so long ago

The day my heart
Was wounded and died,
I was the only one
Who noticed or cried.
No one else seen
The battle it fought
With all the sadness
Your leaving brought.

But it was surprised

Rivers that burble sprucing green prairies
And blue tides bouncing summer’s revelry

We opted to talk,
Disparities to dissolve,
Our problems to solve,

And went out on walk—
Not hands-locked as was before,
Heart’s feelings to pour,

Way out seemed no nigh
When words tied into tight knots,
