Beauty of Fall
Flight of leaves, of saffron hue,
A crystal beauty, before winter's view.
Autumn (TSF)
Autumn`s
Beauty
In leaves,
Saffron
Tinted
Flying
In space
Air crisp
With winds
Earth scent
Rancid
With fruits
Fallen
Apace
Symbol
Of age
Grey hair
Wrinkles
Weak bones
Life`s speed
Low gear
Nature`s
Cycle
Sweet sour
Lesson
Of life
No ground
To fear.
SPICE
seasons
simmering
saffron flowers steam
crimson threads libido
scents so sweet, bon appétit
“Rosemary perfumes August’s breeze”
With coriander cumin turmeric
basmati rice saffron and spice
onions chilli peppers
and all things nice
with chapati and chutney
a samosa or two
naan for starters
rogan josh vindaloo
not eye-watering
but tasty is best
tandoori tikka masala
korma's a meal with zest
chicken lamb chickpeas or lentils
a dinner for two you do not hurry
allow what you've got to simmer in the pot
if you want a winner curry
What joy to see the end of winter days
As snowdrops rise with bells of ermine white,
The signal that winter has reached its end.
More hours of precious daylight now appear
And no longer the shroud of gloomy grey.
At last we wake up from that long cold night
And look forward to seeing saffron show
When from the black loam purple petals rise.
Silk-
starfish
of fervent
fate weaves soft-quartz
feathers of marshmallow metaphors that
croon with firefly's fluorescence amidst life's
claustrophobic
clouds, shading
bitter
smogs
with
plush sweet-
dahlias;
And I chase light
within saffron skylines beyond dreamscapes.
so cute love poem
so swell sweet short smooth slap-up
saffron sapling smell
Blooms bountiful on laughter lane
Purple peonies after raging rain
May melodies, sunshine songs
in emerald elms and garden green
A waking world, scents swirled
Saffron spring, scarlet ruby rose ~
Creamy clouds roam restlessly, slow.

Leaves rustle in wind
Tinted in hues of saffron
Salutes lost heroes
Five hundred million years ago
This all was covered in sea…
Fans of sand turned Uluru
Where life had come to be.
Days of light with lemon bright;
Reflecting monolith,
The largest in the world and
How I’m taken with…
Coral, Saffron ,Tangerine,
Watermelon riches…
The lilac and the lavender;
Aquamarine thus switches.
Sacred land of crimson blood;
Earth beneath my feet
Where chartreuse grass does surpass
Dramatic desert heat.
This waning season
renouncing its joys clad in
saffron of a monk

Saffron sun
Your amber-umber eyes, penetrate me
as saffron sun sets on faces, ashen
Your suspicious mind raves with jealousy
as pumpkin winds chill our summers passion

Excerpt taken from my poem Autumn's desires
originally written September 16,2017
John Derek Hamilton
I spent my day shopping for rubies,
Deemed they would bring luck in life.
Decided to buy a pair of ruby ear-rings as
I wished to gift them to my wife.
I stepped into a jewelry stores.
At once, I was perplexed.
Found the gems in myriad red colors.
The task of picking caused me to be vexed.
It was the most awaiting special day.
To her, the casket was gifted.
She shrugged her shoulders in surprise
And asked what it was with her eye-brows lifted.
When the casket was opened,
Discerned a fine saffron glow,
Mistook it the crimson of ruby rings
But it was of her rosy cheeks, how lucky to know!

I bask in saffron deliciousness, mind-lapping this moment of utter simplicity.
Inside the mindfulness of my chrysalis, I relish a metamorphosis
to new-found freedom’s sweetness
which flits away agony and woes on butterfly wings.

Saffron Summer
Golden sets of surfs surfaces delve a surreal saffron sky,
Sands surrender shoeless soles that traipsed an eclipsing trail,
Amber rays supremely herald as an ocher beach comply,
Gild glitters halcyon flocked doves sprung free a summer's veil.
