The bedazzling sun
envades the saffron valley
as fog protects elms.

Saffron swirled silence
I’m singing honey-
rinsed sunflower serenades
twirling with corn rays…
and I’ll waltz through every fall…
to embrace his saffron warmth
A polato frittata
Three cheese lasagne
Saffron and mussel tartlets
An iced-lime cheesecake
or
Goats' cheese souffle
Chardonnay

In low tide I stand
feeling the pull of the sea
against my ankles.
My saffron and oyster life
passes before my own eyes.
Among dry-stalk yerba-santa,
who could have planted
these nameless
flowers in blue and lavender,
saffron, magenta,
and sun-spot yellow?
Gunfire wounded
temple time passes by
fleeing dominance, anger,
lovers linger lost
freedom glorified, homage;
saffron incense calls prayer.
saffron cloaks the clouds
as apricot streaks the sky . . .
the sun peeking through

You are a light on my world
You are love by your looks
We are what the ancients
Call many things
Most of all
Love

Hillsides were ablaze
from sunlight's saffron fingers
Leaves fell like raindrops
from branches of ancient trees
What a stunning Autumn scene
blooms
bouncy
baby’s breath
busy bee balm
ritzy rose, glitzy gloxinia
zany zinnia, dear ditzy daisy
swanky saffron
flouncy phlox

seasons
simmering
saffron flowers steam
crimson threads libido
scents so sweet, bon appétit
“Rosemary perfumes August’s breeze”
winking moon
behind saffron clouds
playing hide-and-seek
with the stars
and me

While the wind
driving the clouds;
Between the old oak trees.
I Left sadly,
above the bare hill,
two scrawny shadows:
For sake a thousand,
hovers' torch,in saffron fields.
Dreamscape of daffodils
Designed in acrylic
Depicts saffron smeared faith
Dawning of balmy views
Deep pink and purple hues
Drifting through musky air
Darling, you'll find me there
This waning season
renouncing its joys clad in
saffron of a monk

Saffron vanishing from the curved
glass of a lamp, arms and legs
banked in their sea-swept amber,
and underneath the tawny sand-
here too I am
forever anchored
-in this land
of dreaming
Dawn:
pink azaleas on the east horizon –
faded before I could possibly
reach them.
Sunset:
Layers of lavender, saffron,
lilac, tangerine – a watercolor wash
of sunset beyond darkening
trees.
Saffron yellow sunset reflecting yellow gold
Amber yellow mindset in an ecru boat of old
Banana yellow memories of fields of jonquil flowers
Crayola yellow dreams in mango yellow hours

Beauty of Fall
Flight of leaves, of saffron hue,
A crystal beauty, before winter's view.
I turn my head I catch a glimpse
saffron flowers floating down
lying close unto thy grace
a beauty glow upon a face
Kiss my soul and carry me
kiss my lips at sun's last light
take me home with you tonight
the clock ticked slower
in the time of the roses
and saffron sunshine
such chills many thrills
before time gained momentum
in forever fields
lime green foliage
and cerulean blue skies
the gone days recalled
With days so bland, I must find color where I can
Panoramic Plaid Underscores Sunrise
grinds dark and fine, aroma transcending
tranquil skies a smoky gray ~
the saffron and blue grass
