At Mile Thirteen

The crowd is gone.
Even the banners have tumbled,
damp scraps collapse against fences,
glued there by storm and breath.

Here, at mile thirteen,
the body speaks its own dialect:
ribs clattering like loose screen,
calves stuttering,
lungs threading sparks through the fabric
of my chest.

Still, I keep faith with motion.
Each footfall a defective prayer,
each muscle shivering,
but unwilling to betray me.

I remember the child I was,
running shoelaces through fields,
believing the world boundless,
believing endurance implied joy.

Now I know endurance
is the art of carrying grief
without letting it drown me.
It is learning to trust
that a horizon recedes
only to teach patience.

The audience disappears.
Even shadows seem to lag.
The only voice left
is the one I forge
between heartbeat and breath.

I do not race to conquer distance.
I race to prove
that I am still becoming
that even when torn open by fatigue,
the soul can strike a lantern
from pain.

And if the finish waits, let it wait.
Let it wait.
Here, in the thirteenth mile.

Premium MemberMiracle Mile

Come and walk with me on miracle mile

It will enhance all your senses

Bringing tingling sensations throughout your body

Making your your soul feel so good

The meaning of life will be understood

As we walk

All your worries will drift away

Feeling beautiful warmth

From the suns luminous rays

It’s a journey to happiness

Where we live on forever

Flowers are singing

Birds are dancing

Trees are playing

It’s amazing to see

Entertaining guaranteed

The flow of the aroma

Play sounds of a violin made from Cremona

Once we reach the end up ahead

We will come out brand new my friend!

The Mile Long Tree

Kill off the Mile Long Tree
For anyone who cares only cares about everyone
Revelation in mind, we don't feel the same
You should sort through your thick skull, my friend.
Each twig, a secret forever held
Each leaf, a statement never expelled.
My dear dreamcatcher, though my dearest is radical,
You're being ripped out by your roots, big buddy.
You're calling for unhelpful help.

So "Relational Warming" makes headline news
It consecrates our separate views.
They must've gathered some leaves,
And ever too many twigs.
You'll just grow another tree or two
To make up for the 'loss'
You'll just grow some extra foliage,
Replace the grass with moss
You'll just keep on making excuses
And dwell on your own exhaust.
But you're playing vampire in this romance, my darling.
To blame, you have only yourself.
You're dancing a dangerous dance, my dear
You're calling for unhelpful help.

90 Mile Beach

90 Mile Beach

Watching the waves surrender
The beauty of this dance
Played out like a contract killing

The wind rips at the land like a starving rat
Angry at the moon for the tide
Screaming for answers
She strangles the trees

Barely visible in the blue-black light
A silhouette against the sand
Longing for the horizon
He waits like a wayward anchor

Just a Mile Away

I am just a mile away if you are looking for a place to stay
I am just a mile away if you want to start a brand new day
I have coffee and cream in my up and garlic bread toast with
Thin slices of pot roast and a touch of César salad to blend
I am just a mile away if you want to relax, I have everything
That you need for a perfect setting and all the convenience for an exquisite dwelling; I have French cuisine the one that you always imagine in your dream, I have French onion soup for lunch and lamb shank navarin and many more dishes that you can choose from
and if you don’t like my taste you can try Italian romantic paradise and good company to make you smile. I am just a mile away if you have lost your way, I have Chicken Scarpariello, bracoile and Italian casserole
and all the courage you seek to make your spirit bold
I longed for an early morning breakfast to relax and watch the sun rise
I can see smiles all over your face and I heart inditing a good matter; the moment is finally drawing near when the sun and the moon will cross over the hemisphere and we will all emerge out of the dark and the universe will meet at last,

I am just a mile away.

Across life’s topography
I follow fate’s footprints.
Many streams in spate
I swim in storm
with hopes held close to heart,
lest they drown.
Chase beguiled butterflies
in the verdant valley.
Dreams fly through rainbow arc,
streaks of the setting sun
wrap me with rapture,
in my meadow I see
dewdrops dazzle like love.

As the spent sun sinks
with lingering trace of twilight,
I walk the last mile,
until the time is up.

Premium MemberWalking a mile in these shoes

Walking a mile in these shoes, Some of
us say it's learnt behaviors and that one
becomes accustomed to treading
through these life's interferences of
one's decrees.

Walk a mile in these shoes, Some shoes
are a little imperfect, some a bit too
small, some tight, some too big, some
just fit perfectly, the walks may often are
long, winding ups and downs walk a
mile in these shoes, crystal stairs
these shoes never walked upon. Life's
lessons oftentimes seemed Cloudy,
Sidetracked, full of flags of judgment
often waved towards me.

Gossip, Slander, staring at a barrel of
a gun placed upon my temple, violated.

Loss of loved ones, sadness, depression
now overwhelms me walk a mile in
these shoes.

Healing is a life-long process walk a
mile in these shoes.

2 year mile

The 5th of May has paved the way,
A journey end 2 years today,
My partner gone by the cruelest cause ,
It's left it's mark my life has froze,
It has destroyed broke all I had,
And left my son a motherless lad,
I cannot seem to brake a smile,
Make a go it's been a while,
Her presence meant so much to me,
The bond we had for all to see,
To have that taken just like that,
Is something I just can't combat,
I'm not as strong as some may think,
I won a battle with the drink,
But that was won when we were two,
To battle as one is completely new,
I carry on she is a miss,
She may look on from the abyss,
So if she knows our loves so true,
That builds my strength to get me through.

Premium MemberThe Day I Reach The Last Mile -Mixed

1
In wandering life’s ever-changing dynamic landscape,
the paved pathway across the undulating topography
meanders to the nebulous future in time taking turns,
I have to traverse following the footprints of destiny.

The sinking spent sun in the cauldron of my crimson sky
paints the time of the vibrant life passing slowly me by.
The dust-draped horizon spreads uncertainty shroud,
for the ambiguous obscurity conceals the blurred future.

In twilight hour the sky would create a collage of colors,
weave for me the panorama for the penultimate walk.
I’d stand at the signpost of the last mile of my journey,
and wonder what lies at the end of the ordained path.

Many streams I’d remember to have crossed in squall
with budding desires sheltered in heart lest they’d sink,
while the winged dreams drifted away chasing butterflies,
flittering through amorous air in the verdant vale of love.

I’d indifferently count the footsteps of the ultimate trek,
fated to reach the final destination of devouring darkness,
the sighing wind would convey the beginning of the end,
as I’d take the reluctant first step to walk the last mile.

The Extra Mile

She went the extra mile for me.
I loved her for the world to see.
She was all a woman could be,
And I miss her so much.

Anything I needed she’d do.
War had left me disabled too.
She’d enable me to renew,
Help With walking and such.

The extra mile came with her smile.
She made it all seem quite worthwhile.
I loved the way she went that mile.
She always was my crutch.

Reach to go the extra long mile.
It takes so much effort with trials.
On some days Satan tries to beguile

Quick! simplify your class.

As aging problems increase pains.
Going the extra mile remains
Causing friction once more again

Complaints_ those spats amass.

As the end of life here, slows down.
Live life's joy, wear the old age's crown.
Everyday move forward, don't drown.

Extra miles_ pearls not glass!

You better go the extra mile
In order to make others smile
Take care how not to be hostile

	Help humans to revive

Leave not people to their own fate
With their worst woes, yours you relate
	Truly, it’s a wonderful trait

	From it, joy you derive

	Give confidence to a loser
	Transform totally a boozer
Play well the role of a schmoozer

	To let mankind survive

Premium MemberThe Signal and the Extra Mile

He awoke one day stoic and changed
his legs somehow were rearranged
yes, he felt he had been shortchanged

legs of steel that ran fast

so when they kidnapped his girlfriend
his legs were a means to an end
the Aliens then, were godsend

although, he felt like an outcast

part human part Alien young gun
came from area fifty one
he did escape but could not shun

signals from Alien mast
