Dance Of The Grim Reaper

Death walks slowly down the street
with the hood pulled way down low
ain't no sound no not even his feet
his hourglass ready to go
are you ready hey are you ready for this
are you sitting on the edge of your seat
out of the doorway the soul-scythe rips
the end prepare to meet yeah
'bomp' 'bomp' 'bomp'
another goes to the dogs
'bomp' 'bomp' 'bomp'
another falls off his log
and another one gone and another one gone
another one down the bogs
hey I'm gonna get you too
another one pops his clogs

With apologies to Freddie Mercury (1946 – 1991) & Queen

SOUL MEMORY

 SOUL MEMORY

Aligning core below to above
Sirius clapped in glee
urging group into Time out of Space
Pyramid, triangle of my refuge
and direction

Mercury watched soul circling Squinx
Dogons ancient guiding mission
bronze arms encircled axis
Africa cracked from Asia
Amma rejoicing

I knew not then
that in a Southern land I
were to disembark to
stand firm with fearlessness
time-split generational embeds
with carbon and consciousness
oxygen the catalyst

myrrh rained down
to cleanse
Last Supper was still to come

Mighty Mercury

Alert then aloof, snuggly warm then colder
His rangy legs spring to hitch a ride on our shoulder
Lifting our hearts to elation
He’s our portable vacation
We cherish Mercury more each day we grow older

Mercury Wave

When Water and Fire Collide
Tongues knoted in Silence, Silence Preside
Mercury Dulled Lovers Communication
Muddled Messages, Interactions Barely There
No Interest, No Warmth, No Feelings Shared
Creating Distractions to Minimized Relations
I am Here for Me, You're Here for You Situations
Eager to Strike a Match to Extinquish A Red Candle
Retrograde Realiazation, She's too Much to Handle
Afterall,
She Walked Through the Fire Furnaced Air
With A Honey Pot Filled With Ale From the Fountain
of The Dragon's Lair
She Saw Her Reflection In Mercury's Silvery Mirror
Emotionally Volatile, Diamond purifed of a Coal Cluster
So Now,
Under the Influence Of Miscommunication
Visible Lines were Blurred, Heated Moments
Dulled by Confusion, Desiring Isolation
In the End,
She Choose to Surf the Mercurial Anti Clockwise Wave
She Intelligently Flowed With the Current
Blatantly Refusing to Be Mercury's Warded Slave.

Ghost of Vulcan

A world imagined
A phantom circling the sun
Veiled by her white glare
Pulling on Mercury's heels
Pulling on mankind's veiled minds

About the hypothetical planet Vulcan, which was theorised to exist as the nearest planet to the Sun in the 19th century.

Mercury and Sunshine

mercury and sunshine
will see you walking around sunset
thought you are the ghost
which
come to frighten up the children
how on earth do ghost comes in the daytime
to impress the wisdom
weapons of war and all the diamonds will crumble
to see the symbol
funny face
it will be a smile at sunset
to express salvation to the children
to pass the message to the parents
you gotta hurry to the station
to catch the passenger
who carrying the package of the future
mark it
as it's nothing
but
the imagination.

Mercury Series

Mercury
An Angel Having Recently Visited You
Sent back Metal Film
of Your Ancient shores
Cratered silver with loneliness

the Humming of Silver Tides
Or discs bent longingly
With long lonely empty looks
Disc crater eyes alloyed obsidian
Looking back at the messenger
With cold memory
Of the abandonment
Which bore their emptiness
In the insane heat of the void
And now leering livid

Yet recent in disdain the merging antiphony
Like arcadia from the ashes
For and through the endless night
And disenchanted contempt
Which bares no life
Except the whisper of Loneliness

On Staying Put

I wouldn't like to live on Pluto
though you gave me a box full of gin,
a thousand woolly blankets
and loads of oxygen.

I wouldn't like Mercury either
for there I'd freeze or bake.
And where on Mars or Venus
is there beer, for Heaven's sake?

I have to accept I'm an earthling,
where I may have to suffer a lot.
Happiness lies in contentment
asking little more than what you have got.

There Is Mercury, Or Maybe Bowie, Jagger Or One of the Others

You dream as you turn the pages of lasagna and the thin voices of your parents behind the wall
That man is there, the fluff, the sequins of his overcoat
A strange angle to challenge your religion, you can’t really see the eyes from this flash

As a child you stared, and now you stare again.

It strikes seven chords from within your bones. A medley; the body has never heard before-
And the muscles, the nerves, the fibers, and the tissue all vibrate to make vague sort of new virgin space.

Aaagh, all of a sudden, and your grandmother touches you gently, a brush on the shoulder to ask you are you alright? Because your flesh is dripping.

And you know why, because its all,
Bit of your soul is broken off
And ‘that’s why the caged bird sings’ now
And all.

You’re a ripple in the daylight now.
So try,
And try,
And try,
And try.

Premium Member The Flight of Mercury

Jogging down a country road,
Searching for that pristine edge.
The daily stress I must unload,
As I make my solemn pledge.

Two miles in, I gasp for air;
Lungs are scorched and tight.
I tell myself not to despair,
While trying to pace my flight.

Waiting for that second wind,
I'm sure it's coming soon.
Heading towards the final bend,
I hum my favorite tune.

There it is, I feel the surge;
Adrenaline was badly needed.
I'm so glad I fought the urge,
To quit fore I succeeded.

Gliding fast on winged feet,
Feeling like I could fly.
The Joy! Nothing can compete,
Like life...stop and you die.

Premium Member Mercury, Mars, and the Moon

Mercury speeds through galactic showers
Others take days, her journey's three hours
Although it's said she has superpowers
Behind Space grains and particles, Mercury cowers

Mars sells creamy, caramel chocolate bars
Leads the life of a Milky Way star
Travels here, travels there, near and far
Always seeks Peace, finds only War ~

Which leaves us the Moon, to rescue us soon

Martians, they don’t live here
Even astronauts keep clear
Residing though in darkest places
Charred: the eyebrows on their faces
Up from underground they creep
Resembling small asbestos sheep
Yikes they bleat at red hot feet

Meat and veg are not prolific
Eat it if it’s calorific
Roast Mercurian rat... horrific
Chance a glance and risk the heat
Usually, not much to eat
Rare, the morsel overlooked
Yet what there is... is over cooked

                           ***

Many miles through space to Venus
Earth is far more space between us
Risk those Martians haven’t seen us
Cruise by Jupiter and Saturn
Uranus ain't what you’re sat on
Rush past Neptune on to Pluto
Yup, a planet... shows what you know

Mercury

MERCURY
Men have landed on the moon;
Easy, just three days away.
Reached as far as Mars with probes,
Collecting samples for the lab.
Unfortunately, Planet Mercury
Remains and mystery to us.
You’d run out of fuel half-way there.

Mercurial and mentally agile
Electric, eccentric, yet free of guile
Restless mount, below our little finger
Communication skills, befriends strangers
Unkempt appearance, yet strangely in style
Radical views; those born under this sign
Yielding to heart, with the divine, align
