Garden -
My den
Pristine,
And clean.
Bees, wasps
Sun drops.
Birds dart,
My heart
Does sing,
Mood swing
Green grace,
My space !

I sit silent to meditate
gather my thoughts breathe in and out
~ the world pauses for peace
Wordku: 5-7-5 words
AP: Honorable Mention 2025
A constant breeze
from the hole of energy
her death carved out within me
and
Nine hundred and twenty-eight days later, I still
Get choked up when I try to remember not to forget her
and sometimes not to hate her
So
I made her my happy place
A place where I now go 2x a day to meditate
In this place created with an image of her face, a version of her I remember during a period where she exuded inner grace
In a chapter from our life’s story
We sit side by side
Overlooking the stinging meadow at our shared childhood campsite
I now love to meditate because
I get to see her face
Some days that’s enough
today, I touched her hand it felt so real
Like I could feel it in this place
If I could make amends in this space, I created
Which I made with particles of her that now keep me calm
during times I meditate
I can move past the guilt I carry, so I can focus on living and not how it ends
Grief is real.
So I made it my dearest friend
I miss you more than my heart can ever heal or will ever mend
meditate on the sky
the beauty of stillness,
and the stillness of space
autumn winter crescent
We are not the body nor the vital breath.
We are not the mind we're beyond death.
We are all a free spirit though incarnate,
We should be aware of this and meditate.

Awaken with the break of a tangerine dawn
bathing you in its Crimson sacredness !
Meditate with the majestic Pine trees
Towering the skies
Transcending the temporal !
Dance among the wild poppies and lupines
Reveling in your freedom and aliveness!
Like Robins and Jays
Singing Life's joyous melodies
Live with abandon, moment to moment !
Blend into the green inkiness of the wooded
foliage
Dissolving into its Pure Beingness!
Fall in love with Twilight's magical moments
That mimics life's ephemerality!
Surrender to the Silence
Of the dark night
Deep within the cave of your heart !
Slip into sweet slumber of Everlasting Bliss
Caressed by the forest 's gentle breath!!
percussively
I think my way as rhythm
over cloud peaked tops
mountain points like metered dots
and on them stand and pluck, oh see
my breath transcends eternity
introspect
I aim my gewgaw outwardly
to a passing world
and yet it seems I’m not as bold
it searches inward with effect
I am my own play’s architect
meditate
a friend who soothes
who heals at home
I play for me and my ear alone
a remedy of beats I incorporate
in my therapeutic style of late
sanctuary
my sound is that
of a honeyed waterfall
hear breath, it’s grace over boulders call
a harmonising of beauty’s key
be vibrant yet my soliloquy
if aromatic, can your sound
adrift on wings like strings to sing
by tongue and some from lighted tops
of cloud aloud let fly, let fly
o solitary eagle soaring high
these aromatic overtones
of demon groans to bees abuzz
on petal roams and onto tombs
of night in flight to morning’s dew
harmonic rhythms meditate
the late, the new, the cycle through
sweet realm of realms, mine avenue
and though her breath is my breath too
the key, like she, can bloom
As I meditate
just like thoughts and words written
water flows freely
Dew drops grace green grasses
Soothing like my pearly power shower
I choose the right outfit for an orange day
Under the fruit bowl by Vincent Van Gogh
Breakfast bar stool welcomes hungry hips
Honey dew melon kisses lips
Pray meditate talk to God and myself
Water plants feed perky pets sweep steps
Thunderous thud at the French door
Blue genes deliver the paper boy
Who always smells like molasses
Busy red rush for beige boisterous bus
Cool car pool to trendy train that passes
Helium houses that empty again of masses
Spied by sharp eyed animals of prey
Early bird flight climb sky
By Water Lily Lake
Sun is a ball of fire rolling uphill
A wise bald eagle relaxes on top of the world
His seat red, white, blue flag’s pole by the mill
Sun rays in his face
Tattoo him as silhouette Smokey gray
Play a Krishna mantra
Hear the rain pattering down
Cars knifing wet wind
Distant dogs howling
Even the tinnitus
ringing in my ears
Anything but the
narrative
playing in my head
Poison
from the well of
quiet desperation
of loneliness
of false perception
Just because the world
doesn't smile back at you
once
doesn't mean it doesn't
I just don't perceive
So
make the blood rush
into my brain and flush away
what smothers joy
Meditate
deepest desires
into existence
hear the dogs howl
hear the baby cry
But see the Buddha laugh
and smile back
It's good to breathe
It's good to be
Listen to, the drops of rain.
Listen to, nature sing.
Imagine your feet wet and muddy.
Enjoying this part, of your journey.
Meditate on peace, not power, nor money.
Because all we need, is love and each other.
I was in the middle of a PowerPoint
About Pastafarianism
Then I noticed someone in the corner
Not paying attention
Lost, looking tired
I heckled to him
"Paul, quick, candy-coloured clown..."
He found the song on his laptop
I checked the speakers and adjusted the volume
I picked
Up the microphone and sang, looking at the student in the corner...
"Go to sleep, everything is alright."
They listened and watched with great
Intensity
We had all dived within
I told them
I didn't want a golf ball-sized consciousness
I will put my Godliness in a jar
We looked at a quote from a character from Don Quixote
'God bless the man who invented sleep'.
Someone at the front raised his hand
"Why
Doesn't he just commit suicide then?"
Shelly in the second row asked me,
"Are you a Humanist?"
Before I
Could answer
There was a knock at the door
Just as
We had all
Dived-within
Alvin on my left said to me,
"God bless the man who invented sleep."
And I sang again and crooned to them,
"Go to sleep, everything
Is
Alright."
