Loudmouth Poems

Bighead Loudmouth

Speaking out about what
he does not know
tho' saying it long and loud enough
will never make it so
and by the size of the sound
of the flute he toots
(or, is it his trumpet he blows?)
this Cockwomble's too big for his britches
he's way too big for his boots
as for he who shall not be named
for all the world to see
someone should pull out the rug
from under Mr. T.
take him down a peg or two
cut him down to size
as he lies then denies
it could be his downfall
it would be his demise

Family Values

Sold on a cheapskate cheesing.
Cupcaked' by a cheesecake reasoning.
Kids, plenty for the
Cakewalk.
Kids, plenty to play
Hopscotch.
Kids, plenty of energy goes
Non-stop.
Disparaging remarks marked up by the
Loudmouth loosened by fool-proof
Foul Alchohol percentages.
It's far too soon to start with those
Remarks.
Gliding by.
Hiding behind our
Rollercoaters' ropes.
Ready to Ride,
Side by Side,
Since this high.
Goodbye.
Razor-sharp wit halved the delicate patience.
Good times vanish, in wood varnish.
Drive-by relief roaming without induction.

Lukewarm loudmouth listless ludicrous Leland Lee
Made a merry mockery goading murderous Melody
Nefarious needlessness if you ask the likes of me
Offensive objectifying ornery oddball oddity.
Parlaying pretty pukey habits during the grand Prix
Quarrels started up about it all over our family.

REAL TRUE COUPLET

Putting words on paper does not make a poet,
Writing a recipe does not make a cake.
Knowing how to comment on football does not make a coach.
Reading just one book does not make an intellectual...

Saying yes and love, oui and amour does not make a polyglot,
Knowing how to paint a picture badly does not make a painter,

Putting a band-aid on someone does not make a healer,
Heating water and cooking pasta does not make a chef,

Being half-informed does not make someone an expert,
Knowing several things and subjects does not make a wise man,

Being white does not give any privileges,
Loving women does not make a 'womanizer',

Stealing a kiss does not make a thief,
Filling out your income tax form incorrectly does not make you a crook,

Killing sleep does not make someone a scoundrel,
Taking a nap does not make you lazy either,

Knowing how to speak well does not make you a loudmouth,
Knowing how to live with art, it's not a farce...!

Premium MemberParty Line Piggy

Party Line Piggy listened to his neighbors all day.
He was quiet, so he could listen, but he had nothing to say.
Get off the line! The hens would cluck. Hang up. Go away!
But this is how Party Line Piggy entertained himself every day.

What are you listening for? What are they trying to say?
Queried his cousin, a loudmouth named Anna Hog May.
I am not even listening he lied, wishing she would go away.
He did not need her buttinsky self being in his listening way.

Premium MemberSuspicion Fell On the Butler

Murder was served at the table.
The fellow is dead, not stable.
Page turned, nothing could be subtler -
Suspicion fell on the butler.

It was the salt and peppering -
It’s clear his oversteppering
was found out this night…all knives out.
Stone cold - the butler gave a shout.

The poison sealed the rim of glass
to coup de gras the loudmouth bass.
Another page was turned, we’d learn
the butler’s dead - a great concern!

The guests, now accuse each other,
but one by one they fall. Bother!
Who hates them all? Who’s caused this strife?
One’s still standing - the butler’s wife!

The reader, glares at the writer,
declares it was a nail biter.
She tells the author to drink up.
He hopes it is a loving cup.

Premium MemberAmerica Voted In the Clowns

They are dying in Ukraine, you know...
America voted in the clowns;

Russian bombs falling on Maternity
Hospitals, you know...America voted
in the clowns;

Bernie Sanders and his wife
taking a second honeymoon
in Russian, perhaps? Seeming nowhere to be found,
America voted in the clowns;

From leaders of the Democrat Party, whose poor
policies have indirectly given Putin Money to purchase
his lethal rounds, I hear no remorseful sounds...
American voted in the clowns;

Where are the often, incessant, voices of loudmouth sports figures?
Hollywood Trump Haters, the rabid supporters of Biden, Obama and Clinton?
Silent as those movies of old, keeping low profile, in their mansion bunkers not so bold...
America makes idols of clowns.

Premium MemberMy Brick and Piece of Lumber

Mighty proud was I
with me lumber in one hand
my brick me carried in the other
I placed the brick in the barn yard
tall side for gained height
balanced the lumber board on top
I am silent and of Scottish temperament

You see folks
my feathered pet cock
was cock a doodle do-ing all day long
yapping and yelling
ranting and raving
the other farm animals had all had enough
action demanded

I place the ol koileach
at the end of one side of the board
all while smiling at the brainless duine beag
immediately I jumped on the other end
sending that whiny ol cock mid air
into the sea
he drowned

Ah what a wonderful day ladies
I shall meander onwards
among the heather and moor
my brick magically transformed
to fine woody scotch
oh what tales I shall tell
if tomorrow ever comes

Eloquence of Silence

A rainbow once said
To fall falling in cascade,
What use loudmouth made
When silence can say a lot,
Wordless, when the words cannot.

Poet’s note: A deep thicket of green forest surrounds a valley wherein falls a cascade piercing the tranquillity that reigns otherwise. In waters gathered in the valley before flowing away as a river, a reflection of a rainbow peeps out as if to say something to the noisy waterfall. And this Tanka gets born.

Windmills of Mind

Blades blow left then over again
turning, spinning in the breezy wind
a little to the demo of autocratic powered right
 only static glitches in the republic cutting of the middlemen;
spin and twirl catch that breeze and gusto of wind
hot air spewing normalcy, progressive ideologies anathema,
rotating blades sharp and precise, cut the fat, hewn a lie,
 cooled agitation chills the condemned bureaucracy;
ignite the stretch and roll, the hiccup and the loudmouth yawns
dulled by stilled silent roars, loud and tempestuous hypocrisy
the electrifying pulses, ball, and fire pause and wait
 an electro dynamo, impotent bully boys;
list the names as you will,
don't hold back quiet or still
 oaths to their inner pride
shout independence, free speech and free will
loud and bold untethered to the skies
there is a little truth in every lie
  where we go one -
  Do we go all?
Well, maybe next time.

Premium MemberThe Alcoholic In Your Life

The Alcoholic in Your Life

Might be the dirty man in the gutter,
Or your mate, so loaded he can only stutter.
She might be the loudmouth at the bar,
Or the woman who almost died, wrecking her car.

Sadly, could be your father or mother.
Cousin, aunt, sister or beloved brother.
Ages of addicts are no longer fifty.
Some eleven year olds, sneak drink at home, they think it's nifty.

Alcoholism begins in denial, first by the drinker,
Then, the fellow deniers: friends and family, too.
Unable to see where this might have a fatal end.
Our society so worked up over fentanyl and shrooms,
We scoff at them throwing the drug, alcohol, up in our bathrooms.

We've yet to understand all alcohol is a dangerous drug,
I know, not you~you really are not addicted.
Many die of this disease each day, deadly conflicted.
Call yourself blessed, if this disease you do not have.

Please do not laugh at these unfortunate blokes.
See that they get the help they need~
Stop kvetching over second hand smoke.
Alcoholics come in all shapes and sizes.
Attorneys, doctors, Hollywood, too.
Love needed urgently, not arrogant and unforgiving surmises!

Talking Heads

Blah, blah, blah, is all I hear,
Talking heads far and near,
They only love the sounds they make,
Never giving, only take, take, take.

So many worthless words are said,
Spewing from their talking heads,
Making noise just to hear it,
Never silent, for they fear it.

Never hearing what others may say,
Perpetual tongues want it that way,
Only in love with their looking glass face,
As they flit around from place to place.

The more and more they make sound,
The less and less I want to be found,
Thump their chests and stick them out,
As they strut like a cock about.

Like loudmouth roosters on a farm,
Constantly sounding false alarms,
So that anyone in earshot knows,
Its talking heads putting on a show.

Love Is Life's Test

Walking on moonlight
Sweet thrilling chills
Love stricken
How did it all fade away into the darkness?
All that time we were together
You lied through your teeth, broken promises shattered dream
I know more about yourself, then you know about me
Loudmouth, egotistical, arrogant soul
You showed me nothing but hate
Did it ever cross your mind how much heartache you caused upon me
Evil eye sorrow overwhelming pain, I endured for so long
In time you murdered the deep love I once had for you
Never did it cross my mind it would end this way
Time lost years I will never get back
The last day we were together but apart
The last kiss we gave each other I wiped away your Judas kiss
Tears rolling down my cheeks
You left
Left me standing there, holding my shattered heart
Trying to put the pieces back together
Darkness
Black cloud hovering over
Will I ever fill happiness again
Euphoria in the light of day
Time is my Lover now
For he shall heal and mend my shattered heart.
