My dear eagle,
I do not abhor you, though I may have spat your name with bitter curses

We are bound in the same chains
Just because you do not struggle
Because you cannot feel them bite against your neck
Does not mean they are not there

You think you are like them because you fly
You think you are closer to

Extended Stay

When it comes to hotels, we are given the option to “Extend our Stay” by doing a late checkout.
That’s so nice of them (Smile). But truth be told, ask yourself, why do we need to “Extend our Stay?”

There are times in our lives where we have Extended our Stay, such as, in jobs, in hotels,

Left slack at the edge of the violin,
an afterthought of gut and wire,
waiting for the bow that never descends.

Every note passes overhead
like birds stitching the sky.
The hollow body drinks their chorus,
yet no song grows inside this wood.

Ears open in the varnish,
