- Land Of Happiness -
When our hearts met, a star was born in a land of happiness
In this land you are the king, and I am the queen
We live with delight in loves sweet harmony
Ruling the land as the passionate dream team
It has beautiful flowers and luscious fruit trees
With clear blue skies and air free from disease
Golden meadows with clear flowing streams
And flower scented air that floats in the breeze
The sky at the night is filled with a multitude of stars
As I look at them all I see the one that is ours
It warms my heart, and brings a smile to my face
With you in this land of happiness, there is no greater place
It's hard to understand
that a friend who was so alive
is not among us anymore
Dear Dan :
I hope you found
the "Land Of Happiness"

So your having a showdown
a little rhymers delight.
Well that's something I've been doing here
for half of my darn life.
Haven't been around in a while
thought my rhyming days were through.
But I stopped on by to check the contests,
and maybe read a poem or two.
Now some people say
that rhyming poetry sucks.
But now between you and me
I think they all are just nuts.
They can keep all their fancy words
and stick them up their a--.
You and me and some others round here
still think rhyming has some class.

Diverse world is disintegrated, in despair,
Demands change, depends on divine power,
Deformed, in delusion has turned our society,
Dominant are disturbed minds without pity.
If I could change the world with some magic
I would fill hearts with love for humanity.
When there is love, there will be peace,
When there is peace, there will be harmony,
When there is harmony, there will be growth,
When there is growth, there will better society.
I don't have big agenda that I choose to change,
All I want humans to be humans rest will follow.....

Good education for all kids would be
my way to change the world for everyone
because without this opportunity,
the world can never change. Can it be done?
Can people see past sex and race to give
all children education? Without it,
we’ll keep declining! How can we all live
with ignorance? Our kids will take the hit!
If we teach care of our environment,
awareness of each problem, and its cure,
I think we’ll see our dollars wisely spent,
especially when we educate the poor.
To see the end of social ills on earth
we must give education greater worth.

Everyone wants the world to change today
Why not, when so many people suffer?
Even in this scientific heyday,
Everyone still thinks they’ve got it rougher
And the visionaries with their grand schemes
I hate to sound like a cynical jerk
Ask before you buy into their daydreams:
How can they truly know how it all works?
I think it’s so far above my pay grade
To assume that I alone can mend it
Do you understand how the changes made
Can cause problems that were not intended?
So, to avoid an unwanted error,
Please first fix the problem in the mirror!

The world in our hands would impair devils
An unthinking thought more blissful
Than a wish fulfilling shooting star
Our missions would be charted out
To go on our victory dance one step at a time
For peacefully unifying the global eye
The lines in the hand of child would be uncorroded
With the scavenging paedophiles detonated
And their gardens be filled with natural joys and play
Food for the starving would be an essentia
Hunger and water a distant call before going to bed
Appetising the poor rather than greasing over fed palettes
We would delve deep into the human vein
Gushing with a universal religion of tolerance
That binds all colours rather than undermining faiths
Gigantic deeds would keep gory bloodsheds at bay
And young valiants would keep hearts of their fair
In strongholds for inopportune cataclysms
Global warming would be of a season gone by
Aerial reforestations and seed bombs for divergent climes
Would be the neatest stuff rather than bloody nukes
A day will come when life begins once again
When dragons burn out the archetype evils and
Dying values will sprout worldwide deliverance once again

Firstly, I would block all computer pop ups
Because they drive poor Dan quite mad …
But remember Poetry Soup get an income
So if they disappear PS would be pretty sad!
I would prescribe sunny days for everyone
Because they brighten up dull times in our life
But we still need refreshing showers of rain
To rejuvenate our wonderful world again
I pray a cure would be found for cancer
And every other medical condition too
People would enjoy a long and healthy life
I hope it’s a dream that can come true
Poverty, terrorism and war would cease to exist
Sadly these issues are down to the human race
I pray we can all live in peace and harmony
And one day our earth will be a better place

Standing all alone,
at the edge of time.
With no where left to fall,
and no where else to climb.
I feel like I'm standing
back at the end of the line.
Of that soul collecting train
that I missed the very first time.
It don't matter much to me you see,
I'm just going to stand right here and wait.
For that golden train to pull in,
that's taken me to the pearly gates.
When that train pulls out
your going to hear me yell.
As I'm leaving this here place
that is now a man made hell.
Where all the politics and corruption,
of this once great and mighty place.
Turned into need and greed
that just fills me with disgrace.
Now I am far from perfect,
God knows that is true.
But, I'm praying for forgiveness,
and I suggest, that you do too.
So when that train pulls in
to take us from this man made hell.
Grab the seat right next to me
and we can both then yell!
YEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAA!!!

A Sharp Cheddar sun,
with a Swiss cheese moon.
A Blue cheese river flowing,
with sweet Romano fumes.
A Parmesan pathway,
with some String cheese logs.
To enjoy the Asiago butterflies,
and the Fontina frogs.
Gouda birds singing,
in the Mozzarella trees.
Havarti caterpillars climbing,
on the Pepper Jack leaves.
Aged Cheddar flowers,
with Fontina bees.
A cottage cheese mountain,
and a Lorraine Swiss breeze.
Here I will stay forever,
in this lovely land of cheese.
If you care to stop by,
bring some crackers please.

It's now, once again midnight
and yesterday is all but gone.
The beginning of a new day
a little peace and quiet until dawn.
It's the time I like to take a moonlit drive,
with the windows all rolled down.
Feel the breeze upon my face
as we are headed out of town.
Rolling through the old places,
we used to go, when I was young.
Where we used to all meet on the back roads,
looking for anything to do that was fun.
It usually involved beer,
and some cool rock'in tunes.
We would party until the break of dawn
then sleep till just about noon.
Those were the days when midnight,
was the beginning of my day.
We would be cruising down the back roads,
just letting the music play.

I want these words to stick,
to the insides of your brains.
As they trickle through your thoughts,
upon the season of April rains.
Imagine if for a season,
summer would never arrive.
The green grass that we hope for,
stays brown then slowly dies.
No flowers to see bloom,
or buds growing in the trees.
Branches bare for no reason,
A summer with no leaves.
Cold grey skies upon us,
nothing planted outside will grow.
No outdoor chores to partake of,
some may like this part, who knows?
Thinking this thought one day,
the reason I don't know why?
Maybe I was pondering things we take for granted,
in our life time before we die.
Not wanting to leave you somber,
by the words written on this day.
Be thankful when spring is upon us,
as the beauty is restored this May.

A collaboration with Dan Kearley
Thanks for writing with me! : )
Feelings that we sometimes feel,
can be bound in ties that bind.
Flaming heart felt insistent fires,
kept hidden that no one else can find.
As you look at yourself in the mirror,
are you pleased with who it is you see?
Is this the person you had set out to become,
or a stranger who longs to be set free?
To truly live is to never hold back,
let your passion be a guide to your way.
Find that spark that let's you live,
by taking action into the light of a new day.
You will find your true purpose and the meaning of life,
if you trust the inner voice, you have hidden inside.
Never give up, laugh, and learn to forgive,
then you will realize, it's a gift to just live.

Sending a bouquet of kisses,
to all lonely women feeling blue.
Wrapping them in a love laced ribbon,
allowing the love you feel to be true.
I've watered this bouquet with lonely tears,
on the days where I also felt once like you.
Now they've blossomed into heartfelt kisses,
with the color of the sky that is a beautiful blue.
Now on those lonely saddened days,
look to the sky and then think of me.
Remembering the color of this bouquet of kisses,
so your heart once again may be set free.
