Shadows

Our shadows were so restless
As we passed from room to room;
They pretended to be living
But they died within their tomb

They shrank a little bit each day
When the sun shone bright above;
And both of us now waste away
In the sadness of lost love.

In days of younger shadows
That danced in noon's bright light;
Laughter floated on the breeze
Till our day turned into night.

Burdened by life's troubles
Our shadows danced no more;
They became the darkened spots
That faded on the floor.

Now death's arms have taken you
Leaving only memories of your face;
The shadow that was part of you
Is now gone without a trace.

Premium Member Twas a Full Moon Shining - Collab

Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night
And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light.
I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze,
Twas the voice of a woman I used to chase and tease.

Our love was forever, at least I used to think it so.
Then came the day she left me; I wondered, where’d she go?
If true love lasts forever, was this love not for me?
I heard an answer on the wind - Son, your true love is she.

A true love will always linger in the shadows of your heart
Even when the one you love has chosen to depart.
True love is the love you gave, no matter what the cost
It will return to you again, for it is never lost.

Like a full moon shining on a cool summer night
With placid waters glistening in its silver shadowed light
Love comes like a whisper on a cool evening breeze
A gentle touch, a soft caress, a rustle in the trees.

There is no bitterness in the past, if your love was true
The sweetness in the memory is true love’s gift to you
A rising sun or new full moon is not a memory
And so will love come once again, if you let it be.

Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night
And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light
I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze,
Twas the voice of love’s song...answering my pleas.

Premium Member A Crystalline Moment

Cloudy was the morning on which I had awoke,
not a bird was heard chirping, nor a single word heard spoke.
My eyes were then opened to what no one often sees,
as if a veil had been lifted, with a cool summer breeze.

Nothing was moving not a single leaf in the trees,
or a single blade of grass, as far the eye can see.
The dogs so often barking, in this moment could not be heard.
Crystalline was the moment that brought me these few words.

Within this crystalline moment, my world was standing still
this peaceful quiet moment, for me was such a thrill.
As that moment faded I felt an inner peace come from within,
a moment then gone, when the chaotic world once again began to spin.

The dogs began barking and birds were heard chirping in the trees,
leaves again began to rustle, upon another cool summer breeze.
Children were then heard yelling, as they played out in their yards
with that all to familiar sound, of so many passing cars.

Is this what the world is like, for those who cannot hear?
Do the subtle sounds they think they hear, tend to strike them with a fear?
I will have to ask my brother who was born partially deaf,
then let him know in a way, he may have been born partially blessed

Premium Member A Soul With Dreams

I would like to show you something
That your eyes can not see
It will give you a sense of feeling
Allowing your thoughts to run free
I want you to look within yourself
Only as a simple earthly being
Look into your heart for passion
Where destiny fulfills your dreams

We are here to gain enlightenment
That we may pass onto others
Not to fill this world with hate
Nor to judge one another
Through this forever endless search
Of needless earthly things
We can choose faith, hope and love
To surpass all earthly dreams

It matters not the type of pillow
You may lay your head upon
A gift of love was given to all
That shall forever carry on
Never worship those who enlighten you
Only the true creator of all things
For with his gift of a soul within us
He communicates through our dreams

Our shadows were so restless
As we passed from room to room
They pretended to be living
But each within their tomb

Shrinking a little bit each day
As the sun shown bright above
With them a piece of our love slipped away
Out on our quest for love

The days of our younger shadows
Dancing in each days light
Love, and laughter floating on the breeze
Until day turned into night

Slowly burdened by lifes troubles
Our shadows could dance no more
Only to become darkend spots
Fading away on the floor

Now death's time, and space have taken you
Leaving me only memories of your face
The shadow that was once part of you
Is now gone without a trace

Premium Member Just a Kiss

Once again the sun fades into the distant sky
I gaze up at the stars to imagine the twinkle in your eye
Though a sunset for me, is a sunrise for you
It's at this time each day my heart is feeling blue
Together are hearts are one, yet half a world apart
I know that shooting star is filled with love from within your heart
With a full moon slowly rising overhead into the nights sky
May it be a sunrise of beauty for you, as it kisses the morning sky

Insistant Fires

A collaboration with Dan Kearley
Thanks for writing with me! : )

Feelings that we sometimes feel,
can be bound in ties that bind.
Flaming heart felt insistent fires,
kept hidden that no one else can find.

As you look at yourself in the mirror,
are you pleased with who it is you see?
Is this the person you had set out to become,
or a stranger who longs to be set free?

To truly live is to never hold back,
let your passion be a guide to your way.
Find that spark that let's you live,
by taking action into the light of a new day.

You will find your true purpose and the meaning of life,
if you trust the inner voice, you have hidden inside.
Never give up, laugh, and learn to forgive,
then you will realize, it's a gift to just live.

Destiny's Ecstasy

You may find destiny's ecstasy, that you searched for all your days
Cut free from your bonds of sorrow, and sadness burnt up in a blaze
For when the ashes and fog arise, happiness reveals its ways
The familiar face in the mirror, will be happy with your gaze

To stay on course in life you must keep the right frame of mind
Think not only of yourself but of the others you may find
Look at yourself as a stranger that you've met for the very first time
Notice the sadness, and sorrow that you keep hidden away inside

Hard enough as it is, you've got to just pull yourself upright
For some circumstances in daily life, are hard to see in light
Sometimes you have to look into a mirror, and focus with all your might
To see what you may find hidden within, takes so much more than sight

Premium Member Letting Go

We shouldn't live our lives dwelling on problems of the past,
the longer you dwell on them the longer they will last.
You need to turn the page in this busy book of life,
let go of the mental anguish with all of it's painful strife.
Insted of waking each day saying, "oh poor miserable me"
You should say "what can I do to make me feel happy"
We only live once, so make the most of it while you can,
let go of the pain and sorrow, before it gets to far out of hand.

Premium Member Good Education For All Kids

Good education for all kids would be
my way to change the world for everyone
because without this opportunity,
the world can never change. Can it be done?
Can people see past sex and race to give
all children education? Without it,
we’ll keep declining! How can we all live
with ignorance? Our kids will take the hit!
If we teach care of our environment,
awareness of each problem, and its cure,
I think we’ll see our dollars wisely spent,
especially when we educate the poor.
To see the end of social ills on earth
we must give education greater worth.

Premium Member A Drunken Clown Poet

This is really kind of a sad story
But please sit yourself down
For the words I'm going to bestow upon you
Will make you feel your watching a drunken clown

As I bow to gracefully greet you
My silly hat suddenly slips from my head
As I look to the ground and try to focus on it
I feel as if I should have stayed home in bed

Bending over I slowly reach for it
Then feel my face suddenly kissing the ground
Now the happy smile that I painted on my face
Has been smeared into a big ugly frown

Standing back up and trying to gather myself
I slowly begin to reach into my empty hat
But the dove that was supposed to be hidden in there
Is no longer where it should be at

So I reach to my sleeve for some flowers
Only to notice they are no longer there
I happen to pull out some fine ladies undies
To my amazement I think, what a nice pair

Then I reach to my other sleeve for something
Though so afraid of what it might be
I pull out a picture of my drunken self standing
In a photo box by a bar, casually taking a pee

In such embarassment I then begin to stumble
These big floppy shoes are too heavy for me today
I then reach into my pocket to find this here poem
Leaving me wonder, how will I to pay off my bar tab this way

Premium Member I Try

I try to live my life
Not being like all the rest

I try to use a little charm
That might add a little zest

I try to shed love on others
So they may know how love feels

I try to shower the world in kindness
Just to see what it reveals

I try to change peoples worlds
From the gloom that they all see

I try to lighten peoples hearts
So their hearts can fly free

I try to take away the sadness
That we feel in all our lives

I try to explain the gift of joy felt
                                                             When your spirit flys

I try to show you all of these things

Premium Member Passion Awaits

Beneath an amber shade
 with a translucent hue.
Two hearts are joined as one
under the light of the moon.

Fireflies glowing,
 within distant sight.
Landscaping beauty,
 on this cool summers night.

Crickets are chirping
 in the fields all around.
Not a word can explain the melody,
 of this hypnotic sound.

On a blanket, under the stars
 that sparkle from above.
In thee essence of the dew,
I lay with you here my love.

Our hearts begin to flutter
 from a long embrace.
Upon the softness of your lips
a warm kiss has been placed.

Making love in the field,
 until the new morning sun.
Then naked, hand in hand
 together we will run.

Our passion, we will renew
from all the earth has to give.
In a moment set forth,
from this time we now live.

Premium Member Maybe Just a Thought

If you could change the world
What would the first thing be
Maybe close down all the zoos
To set the animals free

Maybe get yourself some air time
To tell all people to take a stand
For the rulers of our countries
Have gotten to far out of hand

Maybe tell all of the people
You now have your own lives to live
Though if you want to live them happily
Learn,and use the word forgive

Maybe stop all of the madness
That new technology brings
People used to live without it
And they did just fine without those things

Maybe stop all of the wars
And get everybody watching everyones back
Then we will no longer need to use the words
Steal,kill,murder,war,execution,or attack

Premium Member The 70's

Back in those heavy times when everything was so far out
Our words were but a whisper, the mans were but a shout
Flower power was spreading, and everything was out of sight
Preaching peace through out the days, and gettin our groove on into the night

But we were always gettin hassled, by the fuzz, the man, the pigs
They didn't want us smokin doobies, and flashin peace signs, can ya dig?
Then peace and love had flourished, we needed to get funky and do our thing
We needed a place to get our groove on, so the discos were the scene

The threads we wore back then were styling, some were off the hook!
It's hard to believe with the slim bread we made, we could carry that funky look?
Bellbottoms, platform shoes, and jump suits people were a cravin
Boogieing away the nights in the discos, where the lights were just a blazin

Then the foxy chicks started getting pregoed, and the discos no longer Dyno-mite!
Men needed to start makin more bread, and trying to live the family life
But gigs weren't easy to find, and life became somewhat of a drag
Some of the dudes skipped town, leaving the foxy mamas holding the bag

Well thats the skinny of the seventies, the lowdown of peoples ways
So keep on truckin all you cool cats and foxy mamas
And remember all those ~Freaky, ~Far Out, ~Out Of Sight days
