The Beauty of May

I want these words to stick,
to the insides of your brains.
As they trickle through your thoughts,
upon the season of April rains.

Imagine if for a season,
 summer would never arrive.
The green grass that we hope for,
 stays brown then slowly dies.

No flowers to see bloom,
or buds growing in the trees.
Branches bare for no reason,
 A summer with no leaves.

Cold grey skies upon us,
 nothing planted outside will grow.
No outdoor chores to partake of,
some may like this part, who knows?

Thinking this thought one day,
the reason I don't know why?
Maybe I was pondering things we take for granted,
in our life time before we die.

Not wanting to leave you somber,
by the words written on this day.
Be thankful when spring is upon us,
as the beauty is restored this May.
:o)

The things that we have to live through so we can enjoy the beautiful times. My May is very different to yours but still it promises greenery. Most pleasant read.

It would be sad if spring never came to chase away the winter blues. I get outdoors and enjoy the seasons as much as I can, because they don't last forever... I enjoyed this great poem, Dan. The words flow so smoothly. Nicely done!

Wouldn't it be tragic if the season's didn't come and go and the cycle of nature was incomplete. Thankfully spring is well and truly here - the weather getting warmer an d the land bursting with vibrant colour :-) great write:-) Hugs jan xx 7 xx
