Not that Jack and Jill
Jack took Jill up the hill
On the pretext of fetching water
But the need for some weed
Was a far more pressing order.
The hill was all green with flowers asunder
When they lit the pipe so they could go under
Jack inhaled deeply and spied Jilly with a posy
She took the pipe and took it in till her cheeky were rosy
They lay a while, and closed their eyes, the birds all chirps and singing
The clouds floated and bobbed their beards as weed and ecstasy collided
The sky was bluer, the grass greener, the air fresher as senses imploded.
Another puff, eyes closed, and images dance in the gentle breeze
As clouds part, God appears, staff in hand, smiling with ease.
All sounds are dappled, all objects move slowly, deliberately
Jill m’dear, down the street, I
dilly dally sleep, and you
with your dog-fur-and-all
(what’s his name), and
the first time I see a hook
in place of a hand, your dad’s
(and I think, ‘perhaps a war’).
Down, my grandma,
from up North; and I
dilly dally sleep just down the road,
missing her, missing her, convinced
by mom and her to keep
company with friends - friends?
I miss her, miss her, my grandma
and not Jill m’dear, down the street -
not in the least. Still the memory,
does dilly dally and sends me
back in time to keep a candle burning.
We were never friends. She invited me
this one night - we didn’t mesh. I
left better friends back in the village.
I didn’t want to go and spend the night,
but I was convinced; and would I
remember this night so vividly, besides?
My grandma also convinced me
to wander out in curlers, ‘neath a scarf.
Self conscious was I, but if she was here,
back from the past, I’d wander out
once again, to a store, red in face.
Would I then go and spend time,
once more, with Jill m’dear, just
to glimpse my gram’s convincing,
and hear her Buffalonian accent?
You betcha! …and see my mom, too.
Jill jerked into a pool, Water was certainly cool, He felt like a fool , Run away had no rule ,
Wiped chill by wool, And sat near the shool.
Jealous Jill
Jack and Jill went up the hill
it should have been a good time still.
Jill, though was really jealous
and she was feeling zealous,
so she went to her lawyer with a sad song.
She complained about it not being fair
that Jack had was the era
and she should have his crown.
So the lawyer filed in the court
and Jack got the report,
That Jill was after his crown.
Jill and Lucille are two very hungry slugs
They often dine out at their local garden food hubs.
Lettuce, flowers, fruits, sunflowers and beans
These are a few choices from these veggie canteens.
Some clues are noticed from a gardeners view
Slugs are not clever, they often leave one big clue.
Slime trails are generally very clear to see
When they travel for food that they eat greedily.
Flowers without heads and partially eaten veg
It all looks a mess when a gardeners work has been wrecked.
But hedgehogs love slugs that are plump and juicy
That's when Jill lost her friend, who's nick name was Lucy.
Jill left the garden when her best friend became their snack
Near to a hill, is where she met her new friend Jack.
But as with all stories, they change over time
Snails morphed into humans and birthed the Jack and Jill rhyme.
But that is not the first or last of the Jill and Lucille tales
Many more will be published about their life in the Dales.
These girls will be as famous with modern songs for the young
Feminine nursery rhyme rights will never be outdone.
Jill and Bill glide on the rill,
Bubbling with thrills,
Embracing the chills,
Past serene hills.
Patiently yearning for gills,
Jill—with her bait and skills—
Fills her spirit with a frill,
As tranquil waters lie still.
With each catch, a hidden drill,
Bill, overjoyed, concerns distill.
Moonlit eve; savor the grill—
Jill and Bill, relish nature's will.
Jack, Jack, Jack and jack, what about me, my name is Jill
I’m only mentioned once, when we climbed up the hill ,
Then Jack fell, and broke his crown, I was filled with dread,
So tumbled after him, but he had gone to bed,
To bandage his head.
Jack Sprat and his wife, one ate no fat and the other no lean,
So hence left their platter void of food and always clean,
So, I suggested to his wife to keep slim, to do some running
Down the street, to lose the weight
She ate.
And Jack Horner who only sat in a corner, I felt that was cruel,
Told him to tell his teacher that he would quit school,
He was never again, to be made a fool.
As for Jack be nimble, I mentioned that as he was always quick,
I would nurse him if he broke his ankle jumping over the candle wick,
So now I no longer feel a little jealous, as I have taken Charles's tip,
I tried to help the first Jack, but did get involved with the other three,
I now feel good, my name is Jill and I hope you agree.
Now give me a giggle,
Hey diddle diddle

Jill is getting tired of tumbling down that hill,
so, she leaves the farm for the big city;
and in New York every view gives Jill a thrill,
till she is told, you are model pretty !
Jill works to become a runway fashion model,
but is told that her walk needs improving;
one day walking at class she felt like a noodle,
and came tumbling down instead of moving !
Only to be picked up by a really cute guy,
they fell in love within a New York blink;
she sighed looking into his blue eyes like the sky,
they got married, and Jill now wears furs pink !
On a cold winters day,
Jill caught a nasty chill.
She called out the doctor,
Who pronounced she was ill.
He said, drink some water,
While you swallow this pill.
But when fetching water,
Jill careered down the hill.
'Twas twice a disaster,
When he gave Jill his bill.
For a sticking plaster,
And the price of one pill.

Jill had a friend called Marc,
they played together in the park.
Once they had a contest of flying kite,
prize was for reaching great height.
Marc was an expert in this game,
any crazy kite he could proudly tame.
Jill had never seen her kite fly high,
but wanted to give it a good try.
Marc’s kite got caught in a tree,
Jill’s one flew high in the wind free.
She was happy to win, get the prize,
but lost a friend, his pride cut to size.
Joyful Jill is always glad*
In the Lord, she’s never sad
She does pray for Mom and Dad
To smile, even they are mad.
Joyful Jill hates being sad
And she likes Jack to feel glad
They both pray for Mom and Dad
For good health when they get mad.
*Psalms 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy...

Little Jill loves boating
while big Will water-skies
She holds her water till they dock,
while in the lake Will pees.
Jill goes out sometimes with Phil.
She has a little snack,
but all the crap on Phil’s big plate
could cause a heart attack.
Jill met a guy whose name is Gill.
He thinks that he’s so cool.
But by the way he acts, we know
he never got through grade school.
Jill has her eye on a new guy.
They call him Silly Billy.
Although he’s buff, Jill has been told
he’s got a tiny willy.
Jill has kissed a girl named Milly.
She'll still date a guy,
but she liked that kiss so much,
maybe Jill’s gone Bi.
Jill and Bill went up the hill
for a little mid-day thrill.
Nine months to the day,
you pay if you play.
Jill had not been on the pill!!
Jill went up the hill with Bill,
Having given Jack the sack.
Bill had the skill, the pail to fill,
And safely bring it back.
Then Jill and Bill were married,
In case you were wondering whether
And now they’re planning to appear
In more nursery rhymes together.
Jealous Jill has had her fill
Of Jack's fortune and his fame
Jill is striking out alone
Creating her own game
Jill has skills, that Jack don't know
Skills that serve her well
Jill can write her own stories
The secrets she could tell!
Jill just wants to prove her worth
Dependent on nobody
Jill will prove her relevance
And live her life care free
