"Angie" likes to brag, telling us all,
“I’ve got my guy Under my Thumb.”
The Rolling Stones might call her a “Honky Tonk Woman,”
but you sure can’t say she is dumb.
Her man is a wealthy gambler.
He gets a thrill watching ”Tumblin’ Dice.”
"You Can’t Always Get What You Want,"
but his Angie baby gets everything nice.
"Wild Horses” can’t keep that man of hers
from giving her the most expensive things.
He brings her flowers and chocolates
and buys her big, fancy, high-priced rings.
He loves his convertible that’s hot red, but
if she said to "Paint It Black", he’d do it anyway.
Yesterday I heard her casually tell him,
“Honey, don’t forget. I need my new 'Ruby Tuesday'.”
With one smoking gun,
I make a good living.
I'm a Squire for hire,
And I'm unforgiving.
I'm real blue steel,
Like a midnight thriller.
I'm primetime crime,
And a certified killer.
With fire and desire,
I'm the best in town.
The Devil on the level,
And I'll put you down.
High priced and enticed,
To get the job done.
No shame in the game,
And I do it for fun.
With eyes on the prize,
And finger on the trigger.
The blush from the rush,
And nothing is bigger.
To endeavor forever,
I never want to stop.
Money is the honey,
And the cherry on top.
The high-priced diamond ring,
In the store, shining
Many people discover,
Thinking about their lovers
Wanting to own a diamond ring
But the love I offered you
It’s more precious than that ring
I can't give you a diamond ring,
Only my honest heart
That forever shines, sweetly in your life,
Alive together as husband and wife.
Nurture a warm and joyful family,
Which is lovelier than that ring
Love and loyalty as life partners
Enjoying life under the same roof forever.
Dreaming of building a hopeful family
With forgiveness and sincerity
I want to offer my humble heart
In exchange for a diamond ring
The diamond is just a lifeless thing
That has no soul and little meaning

Guys Night Out
We're going to see a show on Broadway,
About the navy called "Anchors Aweigh,"
A high-priced meal was too much a cliche,
So we settled for a sidewalk cafe,
Listening to street bands, playing reggae,
Our waitress came with a varied entree,
Great meal, as well as the service, per se,
We gave a tip and a note to convey,
The show waits; we're hoping there's no ballet.

A BRIAN STRAND PREMIERE CHOICE
~~Brian Strand
*RZ & HMS; 10 syllables per 9 lines.
he’s a raver, deep from marrow, born
who screams at moons to curse the morn
and though his flesh is bloodless, torn
he woos the beast inside him
for night alone won’t hide him
he creeps the nettles, scratched and red
to find the temptress for his bed
but with the madness in his head
those angels - dark and ruddy
find all their wings, now bloody
oh, once this manic’s dreams were pure
of maidens, graced with grace, demure
their loins, quite worth a birthing’s cure
but he drowned all such humors
his passions, turned to tumors
those virtues, pure, were sacrificed
for panicked potions - poisoned, iced
no hellion’s draught had e’er sufficed
to scald his veins through rapture
death’s tonic, claimed for capture
but there beneath a gold doubloon
the grip of dripping deviled moon
that man left all his senses strewn -
hopes hanging on a door-hinge
with high-priced bitter orange
there are no versions of the truth
no happy end, this saddened sleuth
what waste, the years of wondrous youth
those scores of bugles, blaring
changed to a dirge, despairing
bright eyes, a-dead and staring …
bright eyes … now dead.

My Innocent soul looking for your heart
Do not think that I am doing flirt
The ray from your eyes has blinded my mind
Now I can write the greatest of rhymes.
The words are fills with full of love
Trust me I am not a writer by luck
Inner peace can makes you a flame of fire
You can accomplish your every desire
So please be with me and fly together
I don’t have a fancy high priced car
But I can take you so far
Then you can see the heavenly beauty of the world
It is made with full of beautiful and pretty pearls.
Let promise to each other that we don’t apart
So think I am an item of Amazon and add me to your cart.
I will love you without making a Daily chart.
My destiny is you.
your groove is so instantaneously profound
the excitement that you bring into my life is
like confetti confessions so happy go lucky
frolicking in a PeaceFull Field of Blessed
if my soul can just swim in the relaxing hot tub
of your bubbly vibe, then i would feel so free that
my self esteem would be mightily high priced effervescence
again
a novice poet am i......see how you inspire me to
try new things that i have AllWays considered old
you, as she being brand.....new....and e....e....is cumming.....
like me in a divine ecstasy so careless when it comes to losing
control of my overall controlling mechanisms.......then again, it
comes back around so sweetly, but gentle to the center of the
tongue
i love the feeling of being a man still green to the unpredictable
to the world of love and affection.....in my masculine mind that
will last forever.....yet.....still.....furthermore......i will take a ride
in a time maching in reverse with you anytime, anywhere, any day....
to Any Place.....until the simplicity of breathing becomes Eternal
Gold
metal
so precious
yellow color
it's praised by many
used to make jewelry
both malleable and ductile
conducts electricity well
was once used to mint coins for money
it's traded on exchanges and high-priced
Time -
a high-priced commodity,
leaves us with a shortened
supply of memories
until it's our turn
to pass on.
Death -
the fickle fiend
leaves a gnawing ache
inside our brains,
stinging with hurt until
there's a mountain left of
time.
No, no, no~ the human race is far from going away.
Some of our brightest days, ever...are definitely headed our way.
Don't let rabble rousers in the streets acting like fools and clowns.
Dampen the human spirit of you, your family or your hometown.
Fools and anger, a horrendous mix, like a cocktail gone awry.
You watch them poured on you, alas, by satellite shakers in the sky.
That's their job, to cause you to worry and to fret.
Do not listen to these cynical, high priced fools, whom you have never met.
Make your plans, dream your dreams, there always is a tomorrow.
Alas, if you have none, alas , you might face emptiness and sorrow.

Poem # 1,244
They're looting Wal-Marts today
to solve America's problems tomorrow
Anyone with a heart can see
Wal-Mart's blatantly racist pedigree
Why, they've hired a single black
and non-white customers enter from the back
Only rich folks can afford their stuff
their high-priced items cost so much
Wal-Mart robs and rapes our country blind
a product of white folks' poisoned minds
If we can just burn down all their stores
there won't be no racism in the USA no more
Twenty-one pairs of blue jeans
Teenage girls twirl and preen
A place to them forever dear
Grandma is parked on bench so near
This store pays rent in a high priced mall
Clothing prices are kind of steep and tall
Not the jazziest clothes I have seen
Frankly none of them to me are keen
Do not know where you have been
But these clothes are not a ten
Some of the blouses are way too sheer
Showing too much skin is totally clear.
Granddaughter tries on a pile of stuff
She looks adorable in jeans with cuff
The prices here are way out of line
But she thinks this stuff is real fine.
Why do children want to wear brand name?
Is being invisible their end game?
Fashion today makes my heart and eyes tear
Where is silk, satin and pretty cashmere?
Say goodbye to all that food
And plugs for each promotion,
Though you'll miss the balcony
And gazing at the ocean.
Bid farewell to fawning staff
And pulsing entertainment,
Whirlpools that you never touched,
The spa for stress containment.
Wave adieu to high-priced shops,
The neon-bright casino,
People traipsing 'round in robes,
The endless pours of vino.
Soon enough, you'll be back home,
The empty fridge a'waiting.
Will you welcome normal life?
To me, there's no debating.
Stress!
Knows no laws
A violation of order
A surprise generation
A sudden application
To go to Hell
Stress an emotion
No virus infection
Come,possible prevention
No cure going destruction
Stress like a business
Buying and selling tradition
In retail and wholesale editions
In day to day engagements
Stress a difficult management
Paving way for disappointment
Some sort of weakness
Some where loneliness
Person to person
Season to season
Going stress,no reasons
Patients hard pressed
With medicine high priced
Able to disable
Haves to have nots
Rich to poor
Learned to laymen
Eating stress raw!
When Tax Season Comes
When tax season comes, I relax...
not worried cause I have my facts
along with a friend
that helps to the end...
my financial aide, Turbo Tax!
So simple, it says what to do...
just type numbers in, click review.
No big fees to pay
high-priced C P A...
sends it to the I R S too!
