His Angie Baby

"Angie" likes to brag, telling us all, “I’ve got my guy Under my Thumb.” The Rolling Stones might call her a “Honky Tonk Woman,” but you sure can’t say she is dumb. Her man is a wealthy gambler. He gets a thrill watching ”Tumblin’ Dice.” "You Can’t Always Get What You Want," but his Angie baby gets everything nice. "Wild Horses” can’t keep that man of hers from giving her the most expensive things. He brings her flowers and chocolates and buys her big, fancy, high-priced rings. He loves his convertible that’s hot red, but if she said to "Paint It Black", he’d do it anyway. Yesterday I heard her casually tell him, “Honey, don’t forget. I need my new 'Ruby Tuesday'.”

Nice job creating a fun and coherent story out of those songs. Yep, sounds like he's under her thumb, and you can't say she has "no expectations". He better hope those dice keep falling his way, or I have the feeling she's going to turn into the "midnight rambler".

I love the Miley Cyrus song. Yes, I had to use song title of the Rolling Stones for this contest, Ink, so this is about all I could come up with . I believe there is an actual song called Angie Baby, so I decided to use that as my poem's title.

The 'Bad Boys' of England are softened a bit under your poetic touch, Andrea. I, for one, am glad to see it. :) gw

A vivid, playful portrait of a The Rolling Stone's Angie who effortlessly commands her wealthy gambler beau. It's a fun and dynamic narrative of a pampered relationship. Nice work!

I just read another one with some of these either song titles or a line from songs so must be a contest. Way to go with this one. Reads like a good contender to me. Sara K

A skilfully written poem encompassing the songs titles hinted out in a dexterous manner. Wishes you the best in the contest. I am not much familiar in this field. Prefer to keep away.

This playful poem weaves Rolling Stones song titles into a witty portrait of Angie, a clever and commanding woman who has her wealthy lover wrapped around her finger. With charm and control, she turns classic rock lyrics into symbols of her lavish lifestyle and undeniable influence.
