Courting Insanity

Strings of inspiration swirl through my mind
They float and frolic endlessly
Until they spiral out of control
And eventually get intertwined 
For I am a non-writing writer,
An untameable monster - forever trapped in cerebral stagnation.

The man who learns mauve from chartreuse
Is rendered quite gay by the news.
For courting sweet lasses
A man means amasses
That too many colors confuse.

Courting in the Digital Age

A message sent, an icon lights the screen,
Her heart skips with a hope—what will he say?
No flowers now, just words in lines between,
A digital courtship, love found this way.

She reads his thoughts, like whispers through the night,
A photo shared, a smile across the miles,
Though screens divide, emotions take their flight,
A growing bond, unseen but full

Wrapping the words
in silence 
tying them with a bow
Gifting them to
my other self
waiting still to know
Leaving them
at the doorstep
of one I’d chased so long

"Courting the Sublime Significance of Nothingness"



The blue lines ripple like waves
to the right side of the page
vacantly calm 

from the shallow depths 
of the ponderous pond
the words, fast black fins, break the wake surfacing

mute reviews slowly circle the fresh poet treading water
eyes watch below the waterline, waiting for the drowning
like poisonous sea snakes slithering

 The sound begins vague as a thought from perhaps 
a misted remembrance made more distant more soft 
in the surrounding sunset not trusting eyes only ears.

I sit up and listen indeed stretch all hearing as music 
surely music more than the wind’s whistling moves 
ever closer alerting me to a whole physical smiling
