IN STARDUST TRAILS

fiery tear across celestial sails
whispers your name in stardust trails

Peace in the crowd

In the throngs of life, peace resides.
Heed the wisdom of ancestors' stride.
Their hearts spoke truths, words flowed free,
Like rivers wild, their voices be.

Look around, signs abound,
In present lives, lessons are found.
Know them, learn, and teach with care,
Our heritage, our story, our children's share.

Religion's path, a guiding light,
Not a deceit, but a beacon bright.

My heart is bound with twin-distressed grommets
But every night I look up at the sky Waiting for a comet.

My eyes fixate and focus before they leak like faucets
And I glance up, I zealously try
To spot it, the elusive comet.

My fate seems tangled in spider webs
Where I'm the fruit fly awaiting demise
The anxiety flows, the panic

STAR OF THE BANTER

Galaxy you shine of dreams
Comet races like my heart
Big Dipper comes a courting
Dressing the night with stars
Bed of clouds soft and warm
Pillow talk deserves an answer
Swelling moon full of charm
In your arms star of the banter

the comet bursts past the stars in the sky
it looks like a giant fire ball, on fire
I think of Hailey’s Comet
Bringing Mark Twain into the world
And taking him back out seventy-six-years later
Hailey’s Comet is due back in our sky in the year 2061
I will see it if I can stay alive until I am 109.

Trump collide with comet
blew up voters when bomb it
caused us to vomit

we will hear Trump say
with our minds he likes to play
ignorance display

were once over hump
what we should do is dump Trump
now is in a slump

Trump on discursion 
when with him an immersion
trouble incursion

if God never made Adam
there would be no sin

Last Night

We stay up late,
laying in the yard
eagerly looking north
to see the comet passing.
Eventually we drive up the hill
above the valley lights
to sit and watch the dark sky.
Stars everywhere up there,
and planets too.
At last I see the faint hazy glow of the comet’s tail,
and we take turns looking through binoculars.

like on a date,

Streak of light
"Cross a darkening sky
Travel afar
To meet my eye.
Not seen for many
A decade past
Return once more 
through spaces vast.
Diminishing brightness
Fades to grey
This rock and ice
Recede away.
Once more to hurl
Through time and space
Away from us
The human race.

Comet Makes Me Want To Vomit

Thinks he’s all that plus a pound of sugar.
I would not trade him for a nose bugger.
See the weird reindeer Comet?
He makes me want to vomit.

Dot To Dot

From dot number one I draw a line
To dot number two with a pencil fine,
Then on to three, off to the right
Back to dot four, a curious sight,

Missus Claus had to trudge down to jail,
Once more toting with her Santa's bail;
Seems where people all shop
He let red trousers drop:
He enjoys showing biddies he's male.

Speeding out and back around the sun
The comet came on its periodic run
Straggling tail spread afar
By the wind from the star
Carrying deep at its heart
The vital spark for life to start
Each package held there steady
For despatch to any planet ready
For the precious gift given to few
The chance to nuture life that’s new
