Where do we go from here

Garbage planet with hearts broken,
walking death all over trying to prove us wrong,
understand the mind that hates your ideas,
nothing in this silence matters, but voices,
where do we go this isn't just a game,
turnaround and witness these human machines,
cubical on wheels follow your dreams,
broke television from the past,
hear you own ideas whisper covered lies,
break and protect, forever hide, am i fine,
big ideas and small rocket ships just not enough,
simply just ugly filthy life, greed will feed
give it all, make it grow, existence potential fall
guard your ideas and look up craters on the moon
something within its darkness
one day we will all walk and bark like dogs.

Premium Member BIG IDEAS? THESE WORDS

It's my words. if I start to play I will
sing for this. My piano
Assist and shift. I will also linger
In the midst of it. How will I say?
Mention a meaningful statement.
The linguistics of it? How will anybody
Ever know my thoughts if I will not
Rhyme in time? Who am I though
Just a poet little known? Unknown
At home? Am I only a poet? Will I
Forever be known as unknown?
How will anybody ever know of me?
Am I? Am I? I Might be a blank you
See? I do read most important and
Many known poets of eloquence
Eloquently. Elegancey! See? Pass the doorway of
Remembering I press my finger to
The bell of fame. Soon everybody
Will know my name!
There's an answer....

Pikersville

We were tight — we were thick as thieves
Only we didn’t quite know it then
Isn’t it true that a friend in need
Is your only kind of friend

And we band of brothers
Went marching through the streets
Ready to take that dirty old town by storm
And we band of brothers,
Whoever we did meet
Became unwitting belligerents in our war

In Pikersville —
We were small-time
But we had big ideas and big words
In Pikersville —
Strictly small-time
The chosen steer marked out from the herd

Now, a generation or more is passed
And we’ve reared up our own
To take up the Piker mantle, once again
To walk the casual hallways
In our glorious institutions
And glow like stars in a constellation of friends

And we band of brothers
Went marching through the streets
Ready to take that dirty old town by storm
And we band of brothers,
Whoever we did meet
Were drafted as belligerents in our war

Small town — small change — full of big ideas

Maybe

Maybe there’s no leaving and going,
no returning, no entrance nor exit.

People live on the stories they tell each other,
living by a faith that may eventually
metastasize as a growth in the mind,
a cancer that attacks any original thought.

Maybe all the beliefs that ever were,
were whispered into our ears
by well-meaning celestial prison guards
until that time when we can cure ourselves
of the thousand and one children’s stories
taught to us by other children.

Then maybe there will be a real entrance
a real exit,
a real going and leaving. No more returning
to this all too small prison for big Ideas.

I Stare in the Mirror

I stare in the mirror and what do I see?
An old man with rheumy eyes looking at me.

Who is this old codger, this balding old shell,
Who cannot remember what it’s like to feel well?

Where is the vibrance, the get up and go?
Why are his movements so painful and slow?

Who stole his glowing skin, his dark flashing eyes,
His derring-do, courage, his sense of emprise?

What happened to big ideas? Future? Ambition?
Why do his joints fight a war of attrition?

Why can he see clearly adolescence long past,
When he cannot remember the thing he ate last?

It doesn’t make sense, I don’t recognise him,
With his belly and baldness and weakness of limb.

No! That mirror’s a liar, whatever I see.
Whoever that old man is, he can’t be me!

                                 Dreaming lovely dreams
                                 Hatching big ideas
                                 Just working the plan
                                 Late nights and early mornings
                                 The entrepreneur for sure

"Now that you feel it
You don't
You've gone off the rails
So don't get any big ideas
They're not gonna happen..."

To Be Quite Frank

A simple girl
But not really
Big ideas
Called silly

Lost in books
Survived by song
Modest looks
Childhood gone

A yellow star
Always, worn
To prove the scar
Jewish born

Her head, high
Her family frowned
She knew, not, why
It should be down

The day came
When everything
She ever knew
Forever, changed

Pulled from school
Denied, goodbyes
Placed in a box
Forced to hide

Lovely locks
Amber eyes
Two fearful years
She stays inside

A life not wasted
She spent her time
Shaping a story
To leave behind

A famous author
Who’s documentation
Tugged at hearts
Across the nations

To be quite Frank
This girl, named Anne
Wrote the history
We understand

Big Ideas

big ideas
     unfilled
four months of thoughts ive kept in my vacuum
twirling
     swirling
spinning ideas bouncing off each other
cracking spines in empty space
     shattering
lightbulbs
     unlit
scream all you ****ing want
nobody is listening
nobody cares
you’re another fallen leaf
     floating
held in thin air
by your stubborn pride
and inability to admit
you need some ****ing help

Dear Jonah

Tell me all your big ideas
Let’s see your greatest moves
Repeat yourself a thousand times
My interest, you won’t lose

Nerf guns and ninja kids
The one and only, Jackie Chan
The amazing things you did
And what you’ll do, when you’re a man

What happened in that movie
And how you won that game
Fort nite and call of duty
And, no, they’re not the same

The thoughts that cross your mind
As you lie awake in bed
I’ll assure you, things are fine
Squeeze your hand and kiss your head

I love you more than you’ll ever know
You’ve made my life worth living
So, every day, as I watch you grow
My attention, I’ll be giving

I Need the Sun

When the night falls
I don’t want to be alone
I want a place to call my home
The darkness feels so heavy and if I turn around I’ll run
All my big ideas are hollow now and everyone has gone
I need the sun

When the reaper calls
I don’t want to go alone
I want to feel I’m going home
The darkness has no pity but I’ve got no place to run
All my pet ideas are worthless now and no one else can come
Hold my hand, give me a light
I need the sun

The List of Alien Objects For Q

Make a list of objects worthy of merit
They must sparkle in the dark
Glow in the light of day
And cost you your life if lost

No diamonds or gold permitted
Fossils are prohibited from all lists
Only things from alien worlds will do
Coded and wet in small letters

Get started right now
And when you are through
Submit the list in triplicate
Go to the next general in compartment Q

Big ideas will be extinguished there
If you are not included in the paper
It is no big deal
We will handle you and the list later
It’s an alien thing

BIG IDEAS

UNG!!!! Fire was the big idea
Flaming Woolly Mammoth on a hot stick

OHH!! The wheel was the big idea
Woolly Mammoth are heavy

Caves were the big idea
Condos of cohabitation.

Cave Drawings were the big idea
Decorative stories

Road Trips were the big idea
Keep moving with the food

Evolution was the big idea
Creatively adapt to change

Music was the big idea
Drums and whistles and chants

Dance was the big idea
Moving in the fire’s glow

Words were the big idea
The poetry of survival

Texting was the big idea
Messages scratched on a wall

Moving out was the big idea
UNG!!! Take fire with you

I Pity the Poor Protester - a Song

I Pity the Poor Protester
as he tries to make his case
discredited at every turn
by the ones who run this place
now he’s got some big ideas
with new tools in his hand
and he still can’t put it down in words
that they will understand

CHORUS
To cut these iron chains
Tear down the old machines
Will take more than words
Will take more than dreams

I Pity the Poor Protester
as he takes his virgin punch
in the basement of his enemies
while his friends are out to lunch
and if his idealism turns to hatred and disgust
he’ll be no stronger, and no longer
someone you can trust
but if he’s genuine
to shake him from his cause
will take more than fists
will take more than laws

CHORUS

I Pity the Poor Protester
I really wish him well
though his message may be muddled
it rings clear as a bell
for through his growing network
if you read between the lines
injustice comes in many forms
and comes too many times
he’s losing everything
some have too much to lose
I Pity the Poor Protester
now whose side do you choose?

Love's Never Ending Fuel

When love comes to stay at my temple
Reside and be Suprised! It will burn
Cleverly like coins in my back pocket
Love is cool, tempting, Showca$ing all the same
Let them have their day, escape/withdrawal
Love the never ending fuel, no exhaust needed

We seek, we prove, but to come hither in the groove
Never that, Us with Big Ideas
Plenty of room under the top hat
So many spaces with the all purpose key
I can create faces that never existed
Swing wildly come out on top like King of the Hill
So bury the hatchet, leave it in the grave
Love is alive, love is coarse to touch

Giving us daily bread, all the nutrients
Replenished tough, builders bonus to seek new ground
Love is by my side, she comes around
After he exciting day, theres no stopping
She's in town flirting up a storm
This twinge of jealousy I must cool
With another love, as juicy and pure
Love's all around rocking in the cradle
Love is here to stay, thank jesus just in time
