Dream Passages - Sally Eslinger's Blog

Some fifty years ago, my mom read a column in 'The New York Daily News' about dream interpretation.  One main note she shared was that when telling your dreams, to pay attention to the FIRST descriptive words you use -- without trying to "improve" your phrasing, because your first descritive account of your dream with the wording you use will give more psycholocal clues often than a visual re-seeing (like a video) might.      I, like most people, think dreams can clue us into things helpful to know about ourselves & perhaps help us to know how we are feeling about our lives, albeit from the sub-conscious (also a part of the Address of Poetry), but perhaps, thus even more necessary to realize.

With all that in mind, I have recently begun keeping prose/almost coming out seeming like poetic-prose detailing my remembered dreams.  I am posting some here in the Short Story area, titled "Dream Passages."  I invite you to read and enjoy, relate, and comment if you're so inclined to.    I once heard we can ask or minds to add color to our dreams...Or move into some dreams as a rabbit, able to command our hopping out of a nightmare, for example.  And, of course to inspire scenes for creativity!    Hugs & blessings to you, dear friends!       sally
