The Memory Speaks

The Memory Speaks I leave… But…I come back — again. Again I’ll return through time’s opening doors, …Fleeting through peripheral halls — their floors — so well cleaned and polished to such perfection, I see How they mirror my changing face ~ Traveling Off in the hours leading away from the withheld moments That come Spirited Forth Again…Again Bringing to life scenes and speech From the heart’s guarded treasury To be annointed with your sighs… —————————————————————————————————- (c) sally young eslinger 5/2024 Thanks be to God

Sally, you explore the complexities of memory in a beautiful way. The thought process is not simple and you put some order to it in your own style. I like how our ideas tend to come back.

such a beautiful write, Sally! I appreciate the introspection of your words. Sometimes my memories come in tidal waves, especially of my loved ones who've departed. Your poem spoke to me and I found it soulful. Loved these words"from the heart's guarded treasury," Well done...have a splendid evening, hugs, Sara

Our memories are oft like magnets. We try to flee only to turn back. Great introspection. Bless you.

Saly your poetry is at its most beautiful, exploring the recursive power of memory to reawaken long-forgotten memories. Great concepts centered on memories, introspection, and the feelings they generate were brilliantly expressed by you.

Sincere thanks, Soto! This poem inspired by several close poets on here who write deeply of their beloved ones . In my case. My best recalling is the smile in my husband’s eyes when we first saw each other.
