The quilted clouds on a cold winter morning. They merged so well with my duvet, but I had to get up. Another day and I shall look at the golden rays instead of the charcoal horizon teasing my mind. Kind wishes, Kai

Wow .... this is a fantastic imagery. This appeals to me more as I keep stitching buttons on my sons shirts and sometimes on my husband's trousers :)

Michelle, your monoku is excellent, and your metaphor is spot on! I admire how you have connected needlework with a lovely morning in the same sentence.

Love your hybrid of sewing and dawn imagery. It's not easy putting this much meaning into a tiny living space (to paraphrase Aladdin's genie) but you consistently do it well. Sadly, I waited too long and your contest closed quickly.

The funny thing is, I never learned to sew, but that line just came to me early one morning and I thought it would be a fun contest- I didn't think it would fill up so fast! If you wrote one I hope you still post it-
