Thank You for Your Recent Comments

Hello once again to my PS friends, old and new. I just want to take a quick minute to say thank you to all of you who have recently dropped by to read some of my poetry and leave your comments behind.
I just recently renewed my PS membership and upgraded to a Lifetime Membership. As a result, a PS email went out that, I guess, has motivated some of you to take a look. I thank PS for doing this and I love the fact that so many of you have found some of my older poems that have appealed to you enough to leave a comment behind.
I have been a PS member now for 4 years or so. My first membership was given as a contest prize by The Sweatheart of Poetry Soup, Linda-Marie. I am not sure what has happened to Linda-Marie but she was my first love here at PS. Thank you, Sweatheart.
Over the years, I have posted almost 1,000 poems here. I have made some good friends and have, if I may be so bold, a couple of fans. I tend to come and go with my activity here – life seems to get in the way. I have never posted as many comments as I should – but, I do try, at times, when time allows. I have participated in many contests, although not so many recently, and I have even sponsored a dozen or so myself. I have posted and commented in blogs, although I will admit I get turned off by the drama that goes on in some of these blogs. That is not what I come to PS for.
Over the past year, I have been focused on other things in my life. I have started my own small consulting company; my wife has had serious health issues; my older children have all introduced grandchildren into my life, including one set of twins; and, I still have a 9 year old at home that I am raising the best I can. None of this is a good excuse for not commenting in kind to all of you, but, I hope, it explains a little bit about the limits on my time and my priorities right now.
I just wanted to thank all of you, old and new, that have left comments behind on my poems. Some of you have done so for years without getting anything back from me. I know – I am awful, but thanks for staying with me.
There are some of you that I should single out for being so good to me throughout the years, but as I tried to list the names I knew I would leave off some that I should not so I will not try to create a list, but, you know who you are. So, THANK YOU!
I do need to recognize one very good friend early on who encouraged me from the start and, like Linda-Marie, is not seen around here anymore. I know she was having health problems and, if you know of her situation I would love to get an email update from you. Thank you Carolyn Devonshire! You helped pull the poet out of me that I kept hidden for 50 years.
Sorry for the long post. I really just stopped by to say thank you. So, THANK YOU!
Joe
