Stand By Me

Many who help celebrate our victories
Leave early in our defeat
Many who applaud our few accomplishments
Jump ship when failure we do meet
Many who join our team while we’re on top
Don other caps when we are in last place
Many people are just fair-weather friends
Who abandon us in disgrace

If you stand by me in the hour of defeat
If you stand by me when failure I meet
If you stand by me when I’m in last place
If you stand by me when I wear disgrace
Then I’ll count you as a friend indeed
And I’ll stand by you in your time of need
