Purely Paradise

I’ve been to heaven here on earth, through this sin I did commit
Although the path, we knew, was wrong, we continued, I admit
With her wrapped in my arms, gazing deep into my eyes
Even though I am hell bound, it was purely paradise

Our marriages were stale; our spouses had grown bored
We took it one day at a time – it was all we could afford
We both were still too young to have our passion flames put out
Just one kiss upon her lips and it removed all my doubt

I’ve been to heaven here on earth, through this sin I did commit
Although the path, we knew, was wrong, we continued, I admit
With her wrapped in my arms, gazing deep into my eyes
Even though I am hell bound, it was purely paradise

When we can, we rendezvous
When we can’t, we push through
Waiting for that day to come around
We live our lives of pretense
But we know one day hence
We will again enjoy this pleasure found

I’ve been to heaven here on earth, through this sin I did commit
Although the path, we knew, was wrong, we continued, I admit
With her wrapped in my arms, gazing deep into my eyes
Even though I am hell bound, it was purely paradise
