zany zippy zambo
rarely watches Rambo
preferring cartoons
watching Saturn’s moons

persnickety ways
does not waste his days
doing what he wants and only that
brought home five dogs and one straggly cat

zany zippy zambo is the king
of doing only his own thing
he had a wife who ran away
every day for him is full of play

Zany Zoo Adventure

Apes bounce crazily,
Daring elephants frolic,
Giraffes hilariously interact,
Juggling kangaroos leap,
Monkeys noisily orchestrate,
Penguins quietly race,
Snakes twirl under vines,
Wolves xerox yaks,
Zebras zigzag.

Zany Lainey Zen Cat

Her sky-blue eyes beam in serene contemplation
A Taoist kitty enigma in deep meditation
Now guru—Now Zany
Zen again, that's my Lainey!

My poetic friends are very zany
Their humor indicates they are brainy
Limericks they oft' write
Bring laughter to the site
They are rays of sunshine when it's rainy

Zaniness is an art that gives pleasure
Such quirky talent goes beyond measure
Their farcical style
Makes many of us smile
Witty minds are valued as a treasure

Labeled bizarre, whimsical, or sappy
Zany cockamamy makes us happy
They take away a frown
When we are feeling down
Even if their limericks are crappy

Backwards Boy

This is a story about Barry Hunt
Who tried to pull off a remarkable stunt
He tried a bungee-jump without using a rope
He then fell to the ground the silly dope
And now his head is turned back to front.

He now sees everything from the back
Which often leads to a panic attack
Because now when he needs a poo
And he has to visit the loo
He simply just doesn’t have the knack

It’s even worse when he needs a wee
Because Barry can no longer see
His aim is so bad, which really makes him sad
Cos to get bullseye he would need a degree

This story of backwards boy Barry
Ends with him finally becoming happy
He then got a job as a teacher, which became a magazine feature
And now he was a celebrity chappie

With his eyes now on ‘the back of his head’
He could see what the children had said
Although there was no cure, he got awarded Teacher of the year
And he celebrated when his name was declared

Barry partied all day and he partied all night
He danced the ‘backward robot’ until it was light
Despite Barry’s backwards life, that night he met June his wife
and now Barry and June are doing alright.

Crazy Insane Zany Circus

Crazy insane zany circus is in Des Plaines
The strong man is showing off his enormous neck veins
Delicate acrobat has a large net to fall in of course
There is much prancing and dancing on top of a darling white horse
Tiny girl is trying to reach the ticket buying booth
Things are going quite well, even if you are long in the tooth
The rabbit has escaped from the magician’s oversized hat.
I think we’re going to have a fine time, me and my cousin Matt.

Zany Zest

Knower of truth visited not the church,
          for he was worn weary
      of sermons leaving heart in lurch
                    by words dreary.

He was not an atheist since he knew
          truth of soul’s existence,
      feeling bliss beats within renew;
                    love’s insistence.

Rebel, a nerd, he followed not the herd,
          aligning with God’s light
      that glowed within as chakras whirred,
                    by day and night.

Zany zoo of zaftig zebras,
Zarnder manes, zebus with ziffs,
Zip through zawns, zigzag with zest
Wearing zories and a zoster
From too much zimstern, zabaglione and ziti-
Zucchini, zwieback, zeppoles, and zeps;
Zillion zitherns of zirconia
Zinging on zephyrs for the zazzy
Zemni zealous zeal for Zambonis,
Zeaxanthin zaps zinc zombie zones,
Zoographer’s zest for the zygote Zen zenith - 
Zaffer zecchino of zebra finch in zamia,
Zorse in the zoysia with zinnia zepplins
Zimmers ziffs filled with zindandel zeatin, 
Zorillas in zoot suits zoom like zodiac zircons
Zebrafish zithers and zorse zoology
Zippity-do-da - ziplining zorros
Zero in on zonal zapateados zip codes
Zydecos zing with zuppa and zibibs
As zany zoo zonks out to zanza zills of Zzz’s.

Stopped me on Calcutta Road with a, “hey!”
We are not the same
For I am quite tame
I liked the fact he was merry and gay.

Post Truth

This is the age of - Man, I really need  a break!
This is the age, dear brother, when all the news  is fake.
The taxman just took all my cash, the dentist my last tooth,
and Santa Claus they stole away as everything's post truth.
I need imaginary money to pay the imaginary rent.
my debt to  an imaginary landlord for a room I did invent.
