Zany Z’s
Zany zoo of zaftig zebras,
Zarnder manes, zebus with ziffs,
Zip through zawns, zigzag with zest
Wearing zories and a zoster
From too much zimstern, zabaglione and ziti-
Zucchini, zwieback, zeppoles, and zeps;
Zillion zitherns of zirconia
Zinging on zephyrs for the zazzy
Zemni zealous zeal for Zambonis,
Zeaxanthin zaps zinc zombie zones,
Zoographer’s zest for the zygote Zen zenith -
Zaffer zecchino of zebra finch in zamia,
Zorse in the zoysia with zinnia zepplins
Zimmers ziffs filled with zindandel zeatin,
Zorillas in zoot suits zoom like zodiac zircons
Zebrafish zithers and zorse zoology
Zippity-do-da - ziplining zorros
Zero in on zonal zapateados zip codes
Zydecos zing with zuppa and zibibs
As zany zoo zonks out to zanza zills of Zzz’s.

When I
feel down
and out of sorts
and have no get up and go
the only thing that lifts my spirits

Sparkling ~ Dangling ~ Outrageous ~ Bizarre
the longer the better ~ the wilder they are
they are making me grin
I am feeling them swing
when moving my head
zany rings in my ears
some they are odd
some they are even
I wear them together
with flowers in my hair
lifting me making me
outlandish eccentric
zany I grow old disgracefully
but what do I care ~ with
bright red camellias adorning my hair

"If having a sense of humor is considered crazy,
tell me I'm zany before you walk out my door."
~ by poet
My poetic friends are very zany
Their humor indicates they are brainy
Limericks they oft' write
Bring laughter to the site
They are rays of sunshine when it's rainy
Zaniness is an art that gives pleasure
Such quirky talent goes beyond measure
Their farcical style
Makes many of us smile
Witty minds are valued as a treasure
Labeled bizarre, whimsical, or sappy
Zany cockamamy makes us happy
They take away a frown
When we are feeling down
Even if their limericks are crappy

The awakening of the dawn like a butterfly busting through the cocoon.
The rhino's thyroid condition was exacerbated as the cheetah conflict
continued.
As I drank in and tasted the coolness of the water,
my eyes gazed upon the crocodile's welcoming smile,
the caption was split apart by the hyena's maniacal laughter,
As I breathed in the heinous adventure,
man what I would do for a cliff bar!
Billy Roberts from Germantown Pennsylvania, you are the planner of my trips
no longer.
I'm immersed in the baboon conflict much,
Cheetah's are too anxious and scared'
those crazy colored monkeys,
Always be constantly straight trippin,
I suppose its time to go snatch up a snow cone,
At least then i'll be heated up,
Suppose I'll meander down yonder over in the holler,
the Zoo will be closing soon,
Why is this peacock making a bead-line for me?
Get hence from me you beastly bird!
You Great White, who's sensed the blood in the water,
the kids are all laughing at me,
As I hang clumsily from this tree,
Screaming shrill and hoarsely for someone to come and save me,
I enmesh myself and become one with the tree,
Ya that's right devil-bird! walk away!
that's why they call me lizard lips,
I can hide from anything,
Wednesday will be my greatest day,
because it begins in W and ends in Y,
As I take in a deep relaxed breath and pinch my leg until my eyes begin to
adjust again,
The Bronx Zoo is no bueno,
Asta la Vista you toothy baboons

Who Am I;
Who I am!
You;
may know me?
But you have no idea:
who I am?
See me?
I'm there;
Inside you now.
- Look?
See me again;
Right here, it's me!
- Who am I
- Who I am
Whoops!
Ha! Ha!
Well:
who was he?
Epic!!!

Epic
Last time I visited the zoo
I chatted with Mama Kangaroo.
She worried that as she hopped about,
Her infant roo would tumble out.
So I lent her my tube of Crazy Glue.

~Nearly Done~
(Zany Zig Zag Five style)
Day is nearly done
Light is almost gone
It's another day
Time again has flown
Now is time to rest
Relax cause nights here
Time to stop and pray
Give thanks for today
God hears our prayers
He gives us blessings
Forgives our sins
He is so loving
Day to be thankful
From dawn to nightime
Moon is peering thru
Time to dream and rhyme.

People think they see Bigfoot roaming
around in the vast wilderness of the forest,
when it's really my 66 year old left over
from Woodstock very hairy hippie cousin,
Who decided 20 years ago to live off of the land,
having had hitchhiked out west with little or no definite plan,
he just hiked out to the forest impulsively one day a free man,
where he lives in a tree house sort of like Tarzan,
He's always been like a Viking very big and burly,
but very seldom does his mood turn mean or surly,
and since he hasn't seen a barber in more than 20 years,
the sight and smell of him can cause an awful lot of fear,
And although he's very hirsute with hair everywhere,
he doesn't cover up with not even a stitch of underwear,
and being labeled Bigfoot he doesn't want to disappoint,
that's why to this day hikers still run, scream and point,
Some brave one's even stick around and take his picture,
with my cousin mimicking an ape running round with a little snicker,
so if you see a picture of Bigfoot on the cover of some rag paper,
more than likely it's just my hippie cousin out naked enjoying nature.

locked in cages for study and further experiments All for comic relief of a tragedy, we would not want them to sad, would we? As you walk, to your left you will see is a fool and jester typical habitats were in king's courts making, them laugh no matter the cost On your right. You will see the commanding face of The Whiteface Clown, yet the faces may vary, as in the Auguste Clown straight ahead the most comedic but wilder Careful!, not to close he will hit you with his slapstick, an evolutionary trait. Going up the hill you will see, the Tramp or Hobo a poorer cousin, yet not without his highlights. The chameleon clown or character clown, assumes many different careers, all to make you laugh like hyenas and then there are these lurking, in drains or woods the Evil Clowns, somehow got away but the doctor will exploit these creatures, to enhance and laugh us into world domination. Is there a little bit of clown in all of us? A Zani zoo for you woo wooo A Zani zoo for me heheee Give me control of your funnies and I will rule the world

Free verse
That crab, his claws
Snapped crack, crack, crack,
While he stuttered,
“That shell of mine,
That swirly shell,
I now want back back back.”
So out, I stepped,
Right from his shell
And donned two skates
To glide, glide, glide
Upon the ocean,
All thick mauve ice
And, as I turned nice figure eights,
A reptile boat tacked out to me:
“You’re nude,” its gator captain wheezed
With breath so fishy
It made me sneeze
“That crabby crab,” he hissed on,
“His swirly shell
He again took back?”
So, “Yes, yes, yes!”
I yelled, yelled, yelled
And jumped high axels
That drew applause
Until that gator with putrid breath,
Once more he shed his skin for me
And while I napped
He stole my skates
And left me there to don his hide
Then navigate green reptile boat,
Into town I steered its bow
And people fled while pinching noses:
“From rancid breath please
Save, save, save us!”

More Zany Headlines
Actual newspaper headlines taken mainly from
http://www.alphadictionary.com/fun/headlines.html
Poem constructed by Elton Camp
Let us hope that they will soon decide:
“Couple Slain; Police Suspect Homicide”
Surely safety standards this abridges:
“Red Tape Holds Up New Bridges”
We surely expect that the voltage won’t be as large:
“Man Struck By Lightning Faces Battery Charge”
Before you eat, give them whacks:
“Kids Make Nutritious Snacks”
This headline is certain to make you laugh:
“Local High School Dropouts Cut in Half”
The community was shocked when this they read:
“Typhoon Rips Through Cemetery; Hundreds Dead”
Not enough training the following suggests:
“Lawmen from Mexico Barbecue Guests”
It’s a disease of humans one assumes:
“Lung Cancer in Women Mushrooms”
As Abel got from Cain:
“Man is fatally slain”
The warning should be sounded louder:
“Milk Drinkers are Turning to Powder”
When she’s sick, she’ll be lots more fun:
“Never Withhold Herpes from Loved One”
His honor should someone impeach?
“NJ Judge to Rule on Nude Beach”
Surprises seem they will never cease:
“Children Alleged Shot by Police”
Headline writers easily get into quite a plight
If what they compose doesn’t come out right

This is the age of - Man, I really need a break!
This is the age, dear brother, when all the news is fake.
The taxman just took all my cash, the dentist my last tooth,
and Santa Claus they stole away as everything's post truth.
I need imaginary money to pay the imaginary rent.
my debt to an imaginary landlord for a room I did invent.
