It's never done
Because
Once you start
You never stop the fun
And stopping just to see
What you might do
You never know
What an author might tell you
So listen closely to
That which I say
Please think about the words
I speak each day

Up and Down

Stand up for what you believe in,
Speak up when you know you're right.
Give up when you know you can't win,
Stay up with your love tonight.

Stand down, you've got nothing to prove,
Sit down when you want to cry.
Get down when you just want to groove,
Lay down when it's time to die.

Up and Down the Hill

She, the queen of glamour, they say,
Loves making things flow her way.
Fortunate she was, having earned 
A prince as he, so delectable,
Amidst the beauty of hills,
He made her, the dream castle.
As lovingly, She delivered to him once,
"O dear, the castle be a heaven of light"

jumping barking dog
sun flows half open window
tree leaves susurrate

The Midway Bench

Midway up and down
I have met this gentleman crying 
Sobbing with grief abound
Nerves popping like rivers
He sat on the bench next to me
Holding his swollen head
Grace to Grass I have fallen, said he!
 
The bench where now I sat
A happy bubbling puppy 
Celebrating how high I came
To sit on this bench, where he too sits
Looking

Flowing Tides Flows Up and Down

~Water flows 
Washes up against the shore 
Waves and tides up and down 
in and out has no other place to go 
As it flows~

Life Charges Up and Down Hills

Life charges up and down hills so fast
One day you are biting your cousin
And they are laughing because you are two.
But not your cousin of course.

In a blink of a wild flower,
you are clunking around in Mommy’s heels.
Thinking you are “all that”
because tomorrow you start kindergarten.

Before you kick off the second horrible shoe
You are learning

Up and Down Side of November

The petrichor of fallen leaves
and coldness of the sun that grieves.
The lovers’ laughter in the wind.
Their purity shows they haven’t sinned.
     Their faces pinched and full of life,
     no thought of making her his wife.

Trees they groan, especially pine,
wild with shivers, right up their spine.

Kites still left hanging upon the winds oh, yes, the generous enchantment, the ever-innocent simplicity. 

Warning us and swirling around and whooshing about amid the humble Streams in the Spring. 

Time jovial, patient Offering Loving thief it weeps. 

Burnt down roses their thorns once bewailing the Cherry Tree; are no more.
