Premium Member Turn the Tables

Apocalyptic riders, riding hard,
pressing, pressing on us
as they come -
how long will they ride
before we all are overcome?
Why do so many
to the horsemen four succumb?
Too many, like sheep, heedless have become.

Anti-democratic and scapegoating leaders
have ruled over us for decades.
No. For centuries!
Wars and misery they bring.
Why don’t we turn the tables
and lock them up in penitentiaries?

Why imitate those liars
being money-hungry,
allowing them control
as we follow ever dumbly?

So few are those who dare step up.
Lonely is the Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four.
A shout-out to humanity -
your courage I implore!

Turn the tables. Turn the tables.
If we’d but take a stand -
think of how the world could be.
Like the Dharma -
It could be so grand.
Let us all together band,
and let Aquarius shine with peace
throughout each and every land.

Premium Member Walking a thin line

i don't believe you
i want to but i can't
you're smoke and mirrors

you're on you're off
you're on again
you're here you're gone

you're all attention
when i explode
your minimum is not enough

you don't impress me
you fail at every chance
your minimum will never be enough

put on the spot you make the effort
but empty promises is what i get
convincing at the time as they may be

you fail to inspire confidence
why i haven't given up on you
remains somewhat of a mystery

your minimum keeps you afloat for now
you're hovering on a thin borderline
and you seem quite content at that

you make promises
that i keep taking
in good faith

you don't follow through
you keep falling short
is that really all you've got?

but when i turn the tables
i have to wonder
why it is that i'm ok with that?

I need to know if you're ready
to meet me halfway ~

Premium Member Do Something Different

Throw off the old tired ways
Seek something new to try
Look to the brighter days
Let all your cares go bye

It's the hard thing that stays
Shifting can cause tumults
Often finding false praise
This world wants firm results

Take the other one's place
Before it's way too late
Peer in the face of race
First off, let's end the hate

Turn the tables on the rich
Quell fake profit sharing
Pull the poor from the ditch
Feed the hungry staring

Our earth's slowly dying
Take a tactic that's new
Plants out loud are crying
See what we all can do

As your path runs along
Honor differences
When benefits seem strong
Find fair consequences

No need for reasons why
Worn words all sound the same
What's weak hides in our sigh
Fearing change is insane

Premium Member Contessa

Contessa remember you’re an epicure,
don’t let him make you feel insecure;

I know that they can’t see the pain
slapped with all of his words on your face;
I know that words CAN and DO hurt you,
breaking bones that will no longer bend;

Amplified and thrown up by the taste of
alcohol it loses its voice in a crowd,
all they’re privileged to is a people pleaser;
Verbal abuse is a silent killer
until it’s just the two of you alone together;

It’s about time to end the silence,
put an end to the punch drunk violence;
Turn the tables on all the wounds
that no one can see but still they bleed;

Always told let it slide let it go,
well here’s something you need to know:
It’s okay to say no and take care of you.
Contessa, feelings are always valid.

Don’t let him make you feel insecure,
Contessa remember you’re an epicure.

Premium Member Fall From Grace

swamped by illusions
immersed in delusion
a strange darkness
thoughts in confusion

‘tis the magical way
living light is caged
its pride demolished
by cravings upstaged

demi-gods powerful
choosing paths unjust
on falling from grace
turn thus to dust

a mere wisp of straw
can turn the tables
love alone is real
moral of all fables

Premium Member A Role Reversal

Maybe a role reversal would be in order
And us guys could take it or leave it
Whatta mind-blowing experience that would be
The ladies simply couldn't conceive it

Exciting? You ain't just whistling Dixie
There's a stirring deep down in my loins
Sexual in nature maybe my jockeys are too tight
Sometimes I let out a few oinks

Sure would be great to see how that works out
To turn the tables on the ladies
I'd say, “I have a bad headache, maybe December
Right now I'm baking some pastries”

Can you just imagine the look on their faces
They'd start to grovel and whimper
“It's already August, not too long to wait
Before you know it, it'll be winter!”

See, my dear sweeties! How do you like it
To be at the other end of the dial
Can't tell you how much fun that would be
I'd never be able to wipe off the smile

Premium Member A Terrier Turns the Tables

A Yorkshire terrier in Coral Gables
should be honored in Aesope’s Fables
When a brat stole her bone
she ate his snow cone
Moral: Your victim just might turn the tables!

Premium Member A Tasty People Fricassee

If chickens learned to carry knives
Just think, when dinner time arrives
We’d be in for a big surprise
With no more fried breast, leg or thighs

They’d turn the tables, we might be
 A tasty “People Fricassee”
Fried elbows may be what’s in store
For chicken’s menu “Dish Du Jour”

And if a cow could pack a gun
We’d be a burger on the run
If pigs condone this twist of fate
What might be on their dinner plate!

Though I love me, some chicken wings
I may consider other things
And hope as I begin to chew
I don’t turn up in mushroom stew!

Draw

Draw?
The loser is just that
Till he becomes a winner
The winner is a winner
Till he becomes a loser
Take you till I hit you
Knocking you out cold
Then you later hit me
Turn the tables round
It’s a big circle isn’t it?
Round and around we go
Loser winner winner loser
Is the result a draw?

Like Love and Apprecation

i gotta be
the one you love
I need to be
the one you love
aint gonna do nothing crazy
I just wanna
the one you love
don't make it difficult
cause you can't understand how you feel
causing me grief
making me unreal
i aint no monster
I hold my own
it aint right to put me
entanglements
that make me go to my own
I just wanna be
the one you love
suttle little things
to keep us happy
i want you to believe in me
aint gonna turn the tables
see you thru
just me and you
friends to lean on
when we aint on our P's and Q's
loan me twenty dollars
Saturday I give it back to you
no tricks no strings
i need it to get over
I got a woman who needs me
I'll give it back to you

I just wanna be
the one you love
I need to believe
i wanna be the one
just you and me
know weirdos
telling you how to treat me
just wanna be
the one for you
just you and me niw
no excuses
aint talking but worth and wealth
we gotta work
to see us thru
don't put your self interest against
what we've built together
discide with me as concern
to keep me as your main interest
it's gotta be me and you
it's gotta be
you know thats true

Have I the Investment For You

Money to invest?
To stay ahead of the rest,
Not sure who you can trust.

Look no further,
Nothing can be surer,
Buy one for your mother,
Sell one to your Brother,
No longer a need for a broker

Guaranteed to be the best labelling gun on the market,
Can hit a moving target,
Faster than a speeding rocket,
Most retailers willing to stock it,
No licence fee to hit you in the pocket.

Comes with free sample of most frequently fired labels,
Bigot being just one example of what can turn the tables,
On those with a case of the grumbles,
We can also custom make labels to suit most tastes.

As required by law we do have to put a warning in the fine print,
That labels can leave a lasting imprint,
On the environment
And we do not recommend their use on an infant.

Don't be put off by the price,
If you want to enjoy a life
That does not include trying to remove labels with a knife,
Because you chose to be nice
And let the other person have first crack with a labelling device,
All because you did not take my investment advice.

Revived

Surrounding self with shells of snails,
You lie on warming shifting sand
Sifting through your open hand,
Adrift with tidal rifted swales.

Charting ebbs and flows of sun,
Wisps of clouds reveal the show
That hermit crabs and sea crows know
And quietly your brain has spun.

The waters turn, the tables, too,
As comfort’s found in sandy dunes,
And concert in gulls’ shrilly tunes,
Relentless though the ocean’s brew.

Emboldened by the sand and rock,
Self aligns with shale and shells,
Enchanted by the salted swells,
And Siren-like, the gulls’ sweet talk.

You’re only one of millions more,
As grains and shells and showers;
Though insignificant your powers,
Not so the strength found at the shore.

Steadfast again your peace survives,
Near broken on a hidden shoal;
Designed, determined to be whole,
In turbulence the soul revives.

Just Turn the Tables On the Devil

J-ust turn the tables on the devil,
U-sing your faith, hope, and love;
N-ever be wild like a roaring lion, be meek instead like a gentle dove.

L-et the tables be turned on the devil,
I-t's time to win over his tricks;
G-et up from temporary setback,
D-on't be deceived by his tactics.
A-llow your heart and mind to follow the Almighty's will;
O-n the nineteenth of January, just turn the tables on the devil.
