Ancient Poems

Ancient poems resurrected and recited
From the murky depths of history,
You hold, against your breast,
The fresh warmth you now perceive.

I tell you tales of my youth
Of day and night, dawn and twilight.
Alive still in my beating, aching heart,
And now held in my hands to reveal. 

You ask me to start from within myself
As I recite these

Standing there with your glistening hair,
miniskirt tempting all eyes around,
say you’re just going out the unwind
with you friends, hottest club in the town.
Looks can kill and I’m thinking that you
mean to draw every wandering eye,
as if you do not have a man here,

I Don't Have A Religion

I don't bear the badge of a particular creed
For religion often breeds division, a discordant deed
I'm a child of Yahuah, and Yashuah my guide
My allegiance lies with the Creator, not a mortal divide

The true church is invisible, a sanctuary of the heart
Where love and purity reside, a sacred work of art

How are you doing?

You ask but quickly move on
not waiting for my answer ~
You ask not really wanting to know.

The truth being you don't expect
to hear how I am feeling.
You ask but are quite
satisfied not knowing
so you can resume your fantasy
that I am fine.

The reality is that I'm trying
to hold back the flood gates
long enough

With A Gentle Hand MYSTIC

God’s hands are softer than the snowflake.
His tender touch feels like falling dew,
blown by a gentle breeze~
Soothing as a whisper on the ear,
a feather-stroke that lulls us to sleep
as babies.

As it was in our cots,
His tender touch still cares—
a guiding light for our feet
against the serpent’s bite.
And when troubles torment,
He calms us with His soothing

He waits at the edge of morning,
ears angled toward a distant sound.
A single breath, a quiet length
then he bounds, unstoppable
through the thin gold sliver of sunlight
that slips underneath the door.

His eyes bring the weight of wonder:
Each step a question, a story.
