"The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind." Kahlil
Grade one, six years old, born to immigrant parents
not a word of English did I speak, but I found compassion
in a kind loving teacher who smelled like talcum powder
and wore baby blue eyeshadow, the color of the sky.
She never married for the love of her life died at war
each time she spoke about him her eyes shone like stars *
I will never forget that first day at school
when I began to cry. Not understanding the language
I walked a dark corridor of oppression and gloom.
She walked over to my desk and leaned into my ear,
don't worry I speak Italian too in case you get stuck.
Its as if someone had just let me out of a dark suitcase.
I inhaled the scent of her talcum and the color of her blues.
Everything would be fine I knew as I walked through
the portals of my mind unafraid, I began to trust and learn.
Miss Cartolano was my first grade teacher.
She was the one who taught me how to never give up.
IGNORANCE GOES OUT WITH THE PRAYER
FROM GOD'S BLESSING RECEIVES CARE
UNREST STARTS TO REST TO PAY
PEACE OF CALMNESS OPENS ITS WAY
MIRACLE HAPPINESS THERE IT LIES
IF FAITH UPON HIM INNER RISES
WITH DEVOTIONAL RHYTHM PRAYS WITH HEART
SOUL FILLS WITH THE ETERNAL LIGHT
SMILING FACE UPS IN THAT PATH
NOTHING CAN GIVE EXCEPT THAT TRUST
WHERE SCIENCE FAILS BUT ANGELS CAST
WITH OUT DOUBT PRAYER IS THE FIRST
MY HEART IN YOUR HOMELAND
Cupid must have been busy he forgot my heart,
And so instead of a man I've fallen in love,
it is in the mountain ranges my eyes dart.
Sweet, the giddy puffy white clouds above
outstretch his arms to share a shady luff
amongst swarming emerald Spruce that skirt
'round the silky slopes-- like some gloves.
Down quiet is the Loch that stretches its girt
of lucidity allowing passerby's to see pert
Salmon and Trout dancing playfully below,
Delighting both my eyes and so my smart,
a fishing rod, I want to slowly low.
This nature's wonder, I behold for free
soon, I surely want to share with my honeybee.
Some bumpy, some smooth are the long winding roads
One day along my ride, I say hello to this Adonis man
Easy as one, two and three our talks-- climb and flowed
Excluded in my plan, wow! Our love story began...
Cascading soft and longer is our attention span
so velvet then is the glowing blow of our said hello.
No longer, I desire Japan but be home in your land
as to the World's theatre we want to show,
our love like barley seed it sprouted and it grow!
Bright yellow bloom it is while us, a fever red
of fruitful trust and hopeful tomorrows. . .
May we never bleed then later be shred,
instead, like the Spruce wrap 'round the slopes
together we will hold hands to boldly cope and lope.

Camouflaged Beauty
Before ‘essence comes existence’ existential beauty in the
Eye of the beholder and in the making when fragments disperse
And grimy misunderstanding of what life is about to become is
United in shards of stained glass mosaic cleaned from smudge
Total eclipse of the mind in which philosophy confuses Yang
Yin with effortless unchallenged order un-troublesome trifle
In polar complements I trust and with shadow comes light
Nothing is ugly as silver lining may well turn to gold at the
Dawn a rainbow bowing in grace and distinguished disguise
Icicles trigger change warm reactive blood flow of heart mind
Soul spirit and essence once existence is lived agentic retold
Gripped by the thorns the horns that threaten to pierce
Unblocked restrictions lighten the load and point to the journey
Irritating no doubt but sufficient and necessary to turn black
Sludge of melancholic depression into what it holds beyond
Existential angst to savour and befriend it for what it contains

In the wilderness of life, I often tread, amidst the unknown and the dread, but I take Your heart Lord in mine. I know that wherever I go, you will never let me go.
Though the journey may be rough and steep, Your presence will always be with me, my soul to keep, and in the face of adversity and strife, Your love and grace are my true life.
For I know that every step I take, You are beside me, with every move I make, and though the path ahead may be unclear, Your hand will guide, and your voice I will hear.
So I will trust in You and Your loving care, and cast my worries and fears on Your shoulder to bear, for I know that with You all things are possible, You are my strength and my rock, my ever-present help.
Where can we go when times are tough?
To whom can we give our trust?
Religious people have their God,
and they say faith is a must.
I’m not quite as religious now
as I was in days of yore.
Belief in God I still maintain,
but proof I’m not looking for.
The friends I have and that I count
as the truest friends of mine
are not so many, but to have
true friends is a gift divine.
And always I can count upon
my sisters and my mother.
I thank God for a family
that loves well one another.
To love oneself and trust oneself,
OH, may all souls feel this way,
and know that truth and joy they’ll find
in the "great beyond" one day!
The Voyager
From this mundane world I'd sail away
To become a voyager, eager to travel.
My body would follow my heart away,
Seeking riddles I've yet to unravel.
With canvas unfurled, I'd launch my scheme
To navigate waters of an unknown sea.
On a vessel built of my romantic dreams,
I'd start a journey to set my soul free.
I'd not bother to chart a map or course.
It would not matter which direction I go.
Mysterious winds would be the force,
Guiding me where they choose to blow.
Perhaps in the wake of Ulysses the Great,
To find the fantasies invading my mind.
I'd place my trust in the hands of Fate,
For only she knows what treasure I'd find.
I'd stand at the mast for eons of time,
With salt spray etched upon my face.
Ready for each wave my ship would climb,
I'd await the next adventure to chase.

Just reach out your hands
when the storm is rageing
and life seems to hard
just know your worth saving
when the thunder roars
and your spirit breaks
just call his name
let him fight this war
when your life is tossed
then the rains began
and the days are dark
know that your not lost
when the winds blows
and your all alone
just trust in him
cause he'll lead you home....

we all have our fears, we have disappointments,
sadness, trails, and tribulations, and we all have our
storm to go thru..
While my storm may be different then yours
we all need to remember, the one that walked
on water, the one that reached out his hands
to stay the seas, the one that reached down his
hand when you were sinking to pull you up.
But most of all remember he went thru the storm,
HIS DEATH then he calmed the storm when he was
raised up again remember no grave could hold him
no storm could stop him,no fear could conquer him,
and he is telling us he will bring us thru this storm....
now how will you weather the storm?........
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3 NIV
Praise be to God through Christ
Which came to defeat death
Resurrected through the Spirit
That we might receive God's promise
To have a way to return to God
Resurrected through the spirit
For we are living in death
Until the living water is flowing
Only this source brings divine growth
Through His great mercy and grace
To sacrifice His son for an ungrateful people
This is including myself before seeing this deception
Only to be revealed through the spirit.
These ones killed Him to keep praise for themselves
And all other true evidence of God's work
But this is in His plan for God is the creator
For if the great teachers understood scriptures
They would have not killed the one to fulfill prophecy
To fulfill scriptures to send His spirit
Unto a pure heart and longing soul
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 1:4?-?5 NIV
I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
Jeremiah 24:7 NIV
For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
1 Corinthians 15:16-17 NIV
We have available through Christ
To receive the inheritance
and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:12 NIV
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 NIV
