Premium Member Not 'til Your Homework's Done

~ Based on the song, "What Did You Learn in School
Today?" written by Tom Paxton; popularized by
     Pete Seeger ~

What did you learn in school today, son
What did they teach in school
I learned how to protest my country, Dad
They taught me that violence pays

What class did you learn that in, my son
Do you remember the teacher’s name
I learned that in Geometry, Dad
And my teacher’s Mr. Uppin Flames

Why you leaving the house now, son
        Not ‘til your homework’s done
My assignment’s to attend a protest rally
Hey, Dad ~ Can I borrow your gun

Oh, what did you learn in school today
        What did the teacher say
I learned how to protest the US of A
        My teacher said violence pays

Yen Til

You ain't got nowhere to be
Since it's your day off
Except here with me
My day off too

I'm kinda liking being here
I really. really enjoy
Being here with you

Don't conjure up no clever
Conversations
Evasives acts ain't what your
Displaying

Keep it true tween me and you
Gotta love I wanna share with you

Quiet times when we're together
Disco dancing and reggae
They see us together
Rock and roll me alnight long
Happy people
Baby that's what we are
If I got a sneak around to be with you
Damn it- that's what I am gonna do
Ain't no fussing gonna keep us apart
I swear it's true it comes
Straight from my heart

Do you feel like loving me
I wanna have you loving me
I don't wanna look elsewhere
I want you here loving me

It aint that complicated
Ah compromise on what
We debated

Get ah trill outta loving you
Smiles and cheers to your
Best friend
So glad I am with you

Premium Member 'Til the End of Time

You know how much I love you
I've told you many times
In many different formats
In music and in rhymes
The question never whether
The answer was I do
And that love will not sever
Until my days are through

Seven Days 'Til A Place for the Son

Everyone's heard the story
Of how the world began
How God created all in seven days
On the seventh day He took a restful stand
And God said "let there be light"
On day 1 God said "let the darkness
Divide from the light"
On the left darkness was the vast universe
The light was the promise of a bright future
And it took its place on the right
ON day 2 God divided the water
Seven times to make the seas
From it came the mightiest rivers
And the tiniest streams
On Day 3 God divided the valleys
From the peaks
Up grew the green grass and the
Yellow flowers (the beauty of nature
That everyone seeks)
On day 4 God divided the brightness
He made the sun, the moon and the stars
He sprinkled the stars against the night
so that to reach them
Never seemed very far
On day 5 God divided His praying hands
To cover the empty land
Fish swam the rivers
Beasts roamed the prairies
Birds flocked together in a strand
On day 6 God divided "lonely" from "life"
He scooped up the clay to make a man
And a rib from man's side made his wife
On day 7 God rested
(I'm sure He thought about all He'd done
and thought it would be the perfect place
to raise His only Son)

Premium Member Til' The End Of Time

Inspiration Glenn Hughes singing
Save Me Tonight (I'll Be Waiting)
From his Album, Feel

My Version - Til' The End Of Time

I am lost in this big world
with only memories
of you my darling
oh, I need your love

You whispered you would love me
til' the end of time

I've been such a silly girl
oh, I need your love
I'll be waiting, waiting
take a journey to me
say, I'll see you soon, love
I'll be waiting, waiting

I am counting the seconds
the minutes and the hours
then, we will be together til' the end of time

So hurry, hurry to me dear
I'll be waiting, waiting
I would wait for you til' the end of time

I want to feel your caress
your lips on mine
I'll be waiting, waiting
take that journey to me
become more than memory
I'll be waiting, waiting

I can hear your voice and laughter
that twinkle in your eyes
and that smile that fills a room
love you

I want to feel your caress
your lips on mine
I'll be waiting, waiting
take that journey to me
become more than memory
I'll be waiting, waiting
waiting .......

Premium Member Only Ten Shopping Days 'til the Locusts

Only ten shopping days ‘til the locusts arrive
What on earth should I buy them

I’ve scoured the stores, and what’s more
      Amazon, Tik-Tok and E-bay

But ‘gifts for locusts’ brings up very few items
      so I’m conducting a mini-plebiscitum

   Asking cockroaches, spiders and scorpions
if I should text ‘em or a love poem write ‘em

Til Time Stands Still

It was a beautiful story,
I wish it was my own.
It makes me think of you,
so every now and then
I turn it on.

Was the first song we danced to,
it made us fall in love.
Now every time it plays
I see your face,
you’re all I think of.

Why does it seem true loves
are always kept apart?
Is it cruel fate,
a form of bait
that’s used to crush the heart?

Or is God to blame
for all this pain,
or maybe we’re just blind.
Well, I don’t really know...
I’m just missing you tonight.

But I still see you in my dreams,
and I still hold you in my arms.
Each time the little things bring
you back in my mind,
I find you’re still inside my heart.

So, I don’t care how long time goes on,
I’ll sit and wait til time stands still.
Where nothing ever can keep
us apart again.
If I have to wait until forever...
then I will.

Struggle til we die

They say we struggle til we die,
If that's the case I don't want to fight to stay alive,
Feels like a crime,
Stealing money from our pockets the government doesn't leave us a dime,
Homelessness is at an all time high,
Yet Trudeau fills the media with all his lies,
Bring in the democracy,
Where's the inaccuracy,
We are worst off now than the great depression,
The people are getting worse with regression,
It's easier to by alcohol and drugs then food or a roof over our heads,
A fire in our hearts is dying,
As well as our want to live
No one wants to work when it doesn't do a dent,
They think it's easy paying off rent,
Landlords squeeze you for everything you don't have and expect you to repent,
They say we struggle til we die,
That's life,
I don't think I can take another strife,
I don't want to die,
But I'm not surviving,
I'm six feet in debt,
How are we supposed to pay,
I don't want to stay,
But there's no hope for the poor,
And to care for others is a chore when you have nothing to give,
They say we struggle til we die,
So here I lie in the debt of a ditch,
wishing to be buried and just get it over with.

Premium Member 'Til We Meet Again

Sit with me, stay a while
Let me take in all your smile
Hours go too quickly when
You're in my presence, only then

Do I want to stop the hands of time
From moving forward, time is prime
There's not enough, I want more
Let's start with those Bm chords

I'll help your fingers find the form
Is it just me or is it getting warm?
A subtle scent, perceives my nose
Is it just me or is that vanilla rose?

I'll seize each moment, gaze upon
You sitting there before you're gone
You're gorgeous, absolutely so
And I don't ever want to go

Until the next time you I see
I'll be thinking constantly
About and of you, yes I will
And I will count the seconds 'til

...we meet again...

Til Death Us Do Part , So Who's Killing Who

Doomed to repeat mistakes of the past,
Declarations of regret that seldom last,
Promises to change,to learn and to grow,
Inevitably lead to betrayal and woe.

How cruel and fickle emotions can be,
You're both madly in love then suddenly,
You're no longer sleeping in the same bed,
And another man occupies the dreams in her head.

So you beg and you plead, scream, swear and cry,
Get her word to give it another try,
We'll sort it out love,we're meant to be'
Ii'd fight the whole world to keep you with me'.

But the love she once felt has withered and died,
You've used and abused her,hit her and lied,
You've taken that spark, extinguished her light,
She's worn out from trying and relinquished the fight.

Doomed to repeat mistakes of the past,
And vows to break free that never last,
To hard to pack up a life and just go,
Sometimes its easier to stay with the devil you know

Premium Member Straight On Til Morning

I woke up at three a.m.
Some call it the witching hour.
I call it the imagination hour.
I felt like something was happening, so I looked outside.
Saw Peter Pan and Wendy heading to the second star to the right.
“Straight on ‘til morning” a voice said in my head.
It was more than enough to make my night fabulous!

Until the Morning

Woken from slumber
dew drops still due
he cups her cheeks to his lips
purposely pauses for effect
passion pounds to peak.

Lucky are walls that see
love making unmasked
touches take longer to fade
stained are the glossy eyes
where stares have been.

Words turned down to a minimal
Mimes move in
Bodies breathe as bodies bang
hands dive to his bareness
leaving love marks to the skin.

Nothing will numb the nakedness
No shame will make them shake
Stories are shared through salivia
Stopping could set them apart
unless vibrations have cum.

Til the End

I left you alone,
You ran from us.
It left me in dire straits,
I had to adjust.

   I don't get how you,
Have a change of heart.
   No resolution,
You tore us apart.

   I can see the
Hate in your eyes.
  WOW, that cut
Me down to size.

   I cannot figure why, you
wanted to hurt me like this.
   I keep playing it over,
In the darkness of my abyss.

    Your M.O, you move from
One to the other.
   My heart bleeds,
It’s a gusher.

I used to believe you did
Not do this with intention.
   You took aim, my feelings
You paid no attention.

   You knew exactly what
You were doing.
   Me and my life,
You were excluding.

   That was nasty, dirty,
Trick you played.
   Who knows how long?
You kept up that charade.

   You milked me for
All I had.
   In your clever, I'm
Going to be gay fad.

   You never cared,
Our love, you condemned.
   You rode it out,
until the end.

Premium Member Hung Over 'Til June

Passover’s coming so soon, so soon
In two more orbits of the moon, the moon
Please take a matzo or a macaroon, macaroon
And sing us a festival tune, tune...

At least matzo ball soup can’t be ruined, ruined
Unless you eat it with a teaspoon, teaspoon
Use a nice-size, silver soup-spoon, soup-spoon
  Just don’t overeat, or you’ll swoon, you’ll swoon…

From four cups of wine no one’s immune, immune
So sleep late tomorrow, ‘til high noon, high noon
Hope you’re not hung over ‘til June, ‘til June ~
But if you are, with ‘spirits’ you'll commune, commune…
