Seven Days 'Til A Place for the Son
Everyone's heard the story
Of how the world began
How God created all in seven days
On the seventh day He took a restful stand
And God said "let there be light"
On day 1 God said "let the darkness
Divide from the light"
On the left darkness was the vast universe
The light was the promise of a bright future
And it took its place on the right
ON day 2 God divided the water
Seven times to make the seas
From it came the mightiest rivers
And the tiniest streams
On Day 3 God divided the valleys
From the peaks
Up grew the green grass and the
Yellow flowers (the beauty of nature
That everyone seeks)
On day 4 God divided the brightness
He made the sun, the moon and the stars
He sprinkled the stars against the night
so that to reach them
Never seemed very far
On day 5 God divided His praying hands
To cover the empty land
Fish swam the rivers
Beasts roamed the prairies
Birds flocked together in a strand
On day 6 God divided "lonely" from "life"
He scooped up the clay to make a man
And a rib from man's side made his wife
On day 7 God rested
(I'm sure He thought about all He'd done
and thought it would be the perfect place
to raise His only Son)
