Premium Member merciless tease

(a series of Senryus)

Oh merciless tease,
heaven’s greatest injustice
must be temptation

There is no sense in
in the sensual and no real
care in the carnal

They’d begun the rites,
delights and wrongs of such love
an unworthy two

Anointed and sworn
by covenants to faithful
others as they were

Was a single kiss
what set the violently
borne fire of thirst?

Which, carried by the
winds of want, brought misfortune
and misadventure

There followed a swift
contract to sin that enriched
impractical love

Their delightful and
perfect lowliness of mind
banished dull conceits

And then afterwards,
a bookful of non-binding
promises of love
.
.
A song for this
the feeling by Steve Lacy [E]

Open relationships
Need strong moral fiber
Express your true feelings
Never lie to your own heart
Ignite your passions
Give them air to breathe
Hope for a reciprocal breeze
Trust that same moral fiber
Search for a reciprocal soul
Trade your heart for theirs
Avoid fast-track love
Never fall prey to peer pressure
Dangerous liasons
Sadly end with tears

It’s great to be good;
just as we all should,
if only we could.
Temptations abound
they lie all around
and creep up on us
and after, it’s thus;
we regret and cuss.

We could close our eyes
as a compromise,
but tempters are wise,
and get in our head;
so easy mislead
at night in our bed;
when all is so dark
and life is too stark.

Temptations

Is it just my imagination runnin’
away with me or,
is my girl really leavin’ me.
I need her to stay and I’m
not too proud to beg to keep
her from goin’ out that door.

Temptations

"temptations"

temptations are all around
everywhere in front of me
my mind is decision clouded
pushing me to the wrong path
taking me down with destruction
and I wake to such reality
the unfolded reality video
in that moment I take hold to
opened eyes and a clear mind
never wanting further shadows
shadows without light and life

Premium Member Temptations Tease Us

Temptations tease us
    kisses please us

  Tho' when love is blind
    the end's mighty unkind

Soul Control

Soul Control

In the misty corridors of the soul,
I fight to maintain control.

If the truth be told in whole,
That is truly my goal.

Sometimes it takes it toll,
As Satan does his patrol.

I can’t get out of this hole,
It’s taking its toll.

To knock me off my game is his goal,
His tricks and temptations are ten fold.

Behold, I will not sell my soul,
For his silly sack of coal.

Girls pass provocatively
       dancing tattoos on hips
         my eyes dream idylls

Premium Member Nocturnal Temptations

You've made it to the moon
     the tiny creature said
He had a tempting piece of cheese
     wrapped around his head

   Though insanely hungry
I thought it kind of right
to forego the cheese this once
     and keep the night alight

Blood
          sunshine bite
     lighting up the dark;
Sweet tangerine temptations;
                Raw;
Let the juice drip from your lips;
            Uninhibited
             appetite
              fierce.

Premium Member Led By the Spirit In the Wilderness

Led by the Spirit in the wilderness,
Resisting Satan’s barbs for forty days,
His hunger first, the devil’s sought success,
“The Son of God could make these stones obey.”

Said Jesus, “Man lives not by bread alone.”
The tempter flashed the world before his gaze;
“Just bow to me to make all this your own.”
Said Jesus, “God alone, we serve and praise.”

The pinnacle was Lucifer’s last round,
“Just jump; the angels will prevent your fall.
You will not strike your foot upon the ground.”
Said Jesus, “Do not test the LORD of all!”

And when the devil saw He was immune,
He left until a time more opportune.

(from Luke 4:1-13)

Winter's Mind

Temptations and desires fade
A heaviness pervades your quilt
Shadows pilfer heaven’s joy
Every flower doomed to wilt
Resistance born from a hearth
Solitary feelings float around
The pain of dejection persists
Dreams chained to the ground
Winter’s mind is a lonesome buffer
Dulled senses reluctant to cope
A rainbow’s fate is annihilation
Here dies every woeful ounce of hope
Mystic eyes veiled by heaps of pity
Ruined tears form a crystal glaze
Relief is but a shameless unicorn
Time worth the price of your days
Wishful thinking is a trite melody
Nature’s purpose obscured by lies
Nothingness speaks louder than words
Unhappiness flows from white skies

Premium Member Compelled

Compelled
David J Walker

The sad part of this obsession is
Knowing how unprofitable it will always be

Language leanings in different directions
Confessions of the soul count for nothing

A mornings reflection in vivid description
Serving only a fraction of lost and forgotten temptations

The torments of love yet unexplained
Colors unnamed

Secrets never revealed
Clouds proudly morphing into forms unformed

And forms of deformed and fearful imaginings
A sincere hope that the unknown is better than today

The poet puts on the hat of a mad vatic
and buries his face in his hands
compelled to see the future

Premium Member Living One's Life

Living One’s Life

With living one’s life—
so begins now all the temptations and
all the true mortal strife.

Knowing that what may come and what
each of us may face, may not be any fun,
if at all. After all, we are all mortal in the
end.

Never fear those freaky foolish foibles of
fate, for your future lies at eternity’s gate.

Be courageous and show real compassion,
for your life’s run is a most noble action.

Human perfection is such a worthy goal,
yet one’s true passion is the guiding rule.

As each of us seek out our own respective
destinies in this life, never forget that God
is always with us and observing us, as distant
from us, as He truly is.

Amen.
