Stoicism

World's storms may rage on,
Inner peace, a steady flame,
Virtue is the path.

Premium MemberCosmic Stoicism: a Carnival of Absurd Wisdom

In stoic carnival, emotions juggle,
laughter somersaults on a tightrope of reason.
Epictetus, ringmaster, dons a clown's nose,
philosophy as whimsical sideshow.

Stoicism, circus tent of paradox,
where the lion tamer wrestles inner beasts.
The trapeze of fate swings on absurdity,
as three Moirai perform an acrobatic feat.

Seneca's stoic beard, a magical illusion,
transforms into a confetti-spewing waterfall.
Cynicism rides a unicycle of cosmic irony,
while Zeno's paradox becomes a funhouse mirror.

In a carnival of wisdom turned wild,
stoicism pirouettes on the edge of the bizarre.
Life's absurdities, the grand finale,
a cosmic joke echoing in stoic guffaws.

Stoicism stands for wisdom,
Virtue and success,
Education,
Information,
Beat a gritty guess.

Virtue is the guiding force,
Of values that remain,
Honesty and clarity,
Promote a greater parity,
That modesty and charity retain.

Stoicism stands for truth,
In what we say and do,
Standing tall,
Is after all,
A harmony of two.

If you shake the money tree,
Shake it for a cause,
Love’s election,
Not perfection,
Settles for a pause.

Premium MemberSTOICISM

“Strong and silent” well defines a stoic person.
They try not to let things take them by surprise.
Owning their fate, they endure without complaint.
In fact, they don’t fear death, and tears seldom wet their eyes.
Calm are they in chaos. Also, they live in the “now.”
It’s their habit to listen more than speak, and they don’t just talk. They DO.
Since possessions matter little, they focus on the higher good.
Mere mortals they are not! Only in some ways am I stoic. How about you?

"A gentle pat and soft voice comforts even the frighten beast." Quote_ by poet

How many children grow up thinking that abuse is the norm,
never complaining of what goes on in their home.
Like a 3-year-old boy being tossed and kicked repeatedly
down a hallway of their building. The abuse was caught
on a doorbell camera. Her excuse was he, “wasn’t listening.”

blessed be the flower
charms those with its grace and scent
moral nourishment

I was brought up extremely old fashioned. You committed a sin,
you are accountable. I believe God lives within me.
With his hand on mine and wisdom He leads me in the right path.

learn to love yourself
forgiveness is thy freedom
you savor honey

I believe in loving people. I try very hard to respect those around.
Everyone has their boundaries what they have, what they choose,
and what they wish to do. They have their own believes,
don't aim to convert them, accept them for whom they are.

golden wheat long shaft
unspoiled nurturing kernel
those who hunger strength

The simple recipe for a healthier life
a Stoic view unaffected by impulses or emotions
The impressions and interpretation of the world
    Bury any negative thoughts
accept your responsibility for your own emotions
    What you can't control,
    doesn't must be worrisome
What you do today, can do tomorrow brighter

    Anyone can acquire
the keys of wisdom of the Stoics
through making oneself a positive person
    Convictions, attitudes and hopeless habits
    a fruitful and educational process
Finding the correct focus, life is full of surprises
You yourself are the forge of your own success
The inside and the outside changes
you gives of yourself, embrace and comfort
A wisdom of life for our time where uncertainty abounds
Explore the possibilities that others may not have seen

I have felt the sting
And the joy of the rain
Soaked in its confusion
Watched
As it turned cold
Bitingly cold and angry
Upon a howling wind
Frozen rivulets
Pelting the helpless
Becoming a more friendly
Soft fluffiness
Drifting into mountains
Burying all hope
Smothering
Isolated thought
Shaping the future
Of a sunrise
Hardening the resolve
Of life

                    STOICISM

Axis of my life is stoicism.
                    Dreaming ceaseless till fulfilment.
                    My pivot fixed on pessimism.
                    Moral values to implement.

                   Progressing with my head erect.
Axis of my life is stoicism.
                   Sublime soul always to direct
each step of mine on dynamism.

                   Honouring my idealism
                   to depend on self confidence.
Axis of my life is stoicism
                  confronting conflict and hindrance.

                  Failure ignored to overcome.
                  Bubbling rippling enthusiasm.
Challenge of life, always to welcome.
Axis of my life is stoicism.

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise,
so I am changing myself.”
Rumi

In a world where ego still reigns supreme,
soul searches for a place seen in a dream.
An inn where there's no room for ignorance,
where no race of people seek dominance.

But, first one must turn to self reflection,
cleanse a heart for virtue with affection.
Adopt morals that bloom like white flowers,
soften loathing thoughts through sincere showers.

We cannot change woes out of our control,
nor save everyone we choose to condole.
Be a lamp against gloom of falsehoods,
a remedy for those with poisoned bloods.

With sincere eyes spread a message of peace,
ease malice minds, so injustice can cease.

A sonnet with ten syllables per line.

Queen Bee Unseen

Our spirit is the sole queen
Queen of the body’s hive as seen
Without her, all would be anarchy
Oh Queen, mercifully guide me

If she falls over and tumbles
The hive falls too as it rumbles
Both plunge to the dirt of the tree
Oh Queen, mercifully guide me

If she is sound and at pure peace
Honey will flow out without cease
Out of a fountain of honey
Oh Queen, mercifully guide me

Our very being comes from her
She’s the sole queen as all concur
As Barbelo in heaven’s hive
Barbelo, show grace as I strive

Stoicism In a Blank Page

The blank page just waits

that we fulfill it out, but nothing charges...

moden writing or an eld work

it can be raw reality or chimera,

         it welcomes our text

accepts us engaged or out of context...

Stoicism

Why busy yourself with trivial matters

Or waste your thoughts on climbing social ladders

Fitting in line and always doing what you’re told

Then forced to feel that regret when you’re wrinkly and old

My path is different, not paved, yet seldom walked

It requires great effort to be seen and unlocked

The way of the stoic, many have heard of the word

And is quickly discarded; perhaps viewed as absurd

Not for the virtue, the ideals or contemplations

But for the fact that it challenges rigid, lazy foundations

It teaches you to internalize that life is love and pain

Endure the bad and the good and try not to complain

The premise is balance, wisdom, and acceptance

To love working all your life for understanding and transcendence

So love fiercely my friend and fight all of your battles

Fill your mind with wisdom and unbind your needless shackles

The Show

The Show
By Shawn H. Hall

She slowly wakes as roosters crow
While morning breezes gently blow.
The sounds of morning fill the air
As backlit, pastel clouds now glow.

A blur of fur and bed-head hair
Soon greet the day with joy to spare,
Though half an empty bed belies
The happiness that once was there.

But each new day greets time that flies
As children's noises fill the skies.
The dawn again has joined the flow
Of life's insistent mirthful cries.

And so our daytime's habits grow:
We dress for work and off we go.
But only friends and loved ones know
We're quite convincing with our show.
Yes, quite convincing with our show.

Stoicism

Of all the meteorites
that hit me each day,

I can see my image
at the lighted up
crystal chandelier,
it's terribly crushed;

but the zenith
of my fortitude
still sparkles and says:
You can do it girl!
